  1. @erikzen Thank you. I am going to send them an email right now and see what they say. We definitely don't want to sit at the airport for hours but our luggage is a bit of an issue. I know they have the luggage lockers at the bus terminal but who knows if the size we need is/will be available. Thanks again!
  2. @erikzen Would you mind sharing the name of the company you used to book this ? Will the company drive you to the Keflavik airport and drop you off after the “tour”? There are 3 of us but maybe we could do something similar and see if we could get others to join us? Thanks
  3. @fishman620 I am so confused by the correspondence you received from Reykjavik Excursions. So you book and pay for pick up at the Skarfabakki cruise terminal that will take you to the BSI bus terminal and then store your bags in lockers while you explore. Then you return to the bus terminal and get on a bus to the airport at a later time…can you prebook the bus to the airport for the later time? There are three of us, 2 adults and a child age 11. We will need to be at the airport 3 hours before our flight so we would need to be at the airport at 2:10. What time would you need to be at the airport? I was thinking maybe take a taxi to the bus terminal, store our bags, explore and then make our way back to the bus terminal for the bus but I’m really not sure what is the best option?
  4. @fishman620 We are in a similar situation....our flight departs KEF at 5:10PM the day we leave the ship and we are looking to kill some time in downtown Reykjavik before we have to be at the airport. We'd rather walk around town than sit at the airport for 8 hours! We are hoping to find available luggage storage at the BSI terminal...hopefully all the lockers aren't full when we get there. Were you able to book a Reykjavik Excursion bus that will pick you up at the cruise terminal in Reykjavik and take you to BSI? Or did you have to book the Flybus cruise terminal pickup but not take the bus to the airport? If so how did you go about doing that? I would love to find a transfer to the BSI bus terminal from the SKarfabbaki cruise terminal to BSI. I know there will be Taxi's at the port but I'm sure there will be long lines to get one that will take us to the bus terminal. I've heard good things about the Perlan, FlyOver Iceland, and the Lava Show. There is also the Hallgrimskirkja Church...you can purchase tickets and go to the top to look out over the city. The Sun Voyager and Harpa, a concert hall are also places you may want to see. The main Street, Laugavegur and Rainbow road are both on my list. The hotdog stand, Baejarins Best Pylsur, is a must try for us!!
  5. Hello, We will be on the NCL Prima in mid July and are interested in going to Bruges from the Zeebrugge port. The cruise line has a "Bruges On Your Own" tour that we can book but it seems expensive for just a bus ride to/from Bruges. I know there is the Cruise Express bus that will take us to Bruges but I have read reviews and unfortunately they do not get the best reviews. Has anyone taken a Taxi from the port in Zeebrugge to Bruges? If so, which company did you use? Can you prebook a roundtrip fare? There will be three of us (myself, my husband and our 11 year old son).
  6. @el344 Thank you for sharing your experience getting to Bruges today. We will be there in mid July and was wondering how we get from Zeebrugge to Bruges. The NCL "tour" Bruges on your own is very expensive for just a bus ride to/from the city. We were not planning on having cash (Euros), we were planning on using our credit card for all purchases. Do you know if the Taxi takes credit card? Was the 50 Euros total or per person?
  7. Thank you, we are looking forward to Reykjavik. We have a flight @ 5PM the same day we depart the cruise so we are looking to kill some time in the city of Reykjavik instead of sitting at the airport for hours. Any recommendations? We will be with our 11 year old son! I did send a message to BSR, waiting on their response.
  8. Thanks for checking your CC statement. I did contact Hreyfill to see if we could prebook pick from the cruise terminal to take us to the city center but they said, “Unfortunately, we are not able to take any pre-bookings from the Cruise Port, but there will be a taxi rank there with available cars.” Hopefully the wait @ the taxi stand won’t be too long! We are looking to take a taxi to the city center and then either the Flybus or a taxi to the airport later in the day. When I asked about the price for a taxi to the airport it was about $145 for the 3 of us.
  9. Thanks, I’ll look that company up.
  10. NCL charges $75 per person for the transfers from the cruise terminal in Reykjavik to Keflavik airport. Much more expensive than finding another transfer company.
  11. What company did you use to prebook your taxi for pickup @ the Skarfabakki cruise terminal? I contacted Hreyfill taxi and they said the do NOT do prebook pickup from the cruise terminal. We are looking to book a taxi for 3 to the city center (a guesthouse near the BSI bus terminal).
  12. How long before an international flight do you need to be at Keflavik airport? I’ve heard 2 hours and I’ve also heard 3 hours. We will be taking the Flybus to Keflavik airport for a flight on Icelandair to Boston @ 5:10PM. There are two Flybus times that depart the BSI Bus Terminal to Keflavik that will get us there before our flight… Departs Reykjavik - 12:30PM Arrives at Keflavik - 1:15PM Departs Reykjavik - 2PM Arrives at Keflavik - 2:45PM We are trying to decide which Flybus to book, the 12:30PM or the 2PM. We will need to check-in (drop our bags), go through security and passport control. I’m leaning towards the 12:30PM bus but curious what others would do. Thanks 😊
  13. I had also asked NCL and they told me the same however I just checked the Geiranger webcam and the ship that is currently docked at the sea walk 4B/SW is the one listed on the schedule of ships and their docking locations that Turtles shared. I made note of the days the NCL Prima is in Geiranger and all of the dates she is there except for one she according to the schedule is suppose to be docked at the sea walk. I will check the webcam on those days to see if the Prima is docked at the sea walk.
  14. @Turtles06 Thank you so much for this link. Our ship, the NCL Prima is listed as Pos. 4B/SW so that must mean our ship is scheduled to use the sea walk. That is wonderful news so that we don't have to waste time waiting for the ships tender boats to take us to and from Geiranger. @fishman620 We are on the NCL Prima in July. The prices are SO much cheaper to book independently than with NCL. We want to do the panorama bus tour first and then the RIB boat later in the afternoon.
  15. Thank you for your response. This is the company I have been looking to book with but the day we will be there they do not have a 10AM tour, they only have two tours: 9:30AM & 1:00PM. I would have preferred the 10AM tour to give us more time to get to the tour as I am told by NCL our ship has to tender and I don't know how long that will take with us arriving in Geiranger at 8AM.
  16. @Skicruiser55 would you mind sharing which company your husband is booked on? The panorama bus tour I’m seeing in Geiranger departs at 9:30am but I would prefer the 10am
  17. @fstuff1 Thank you. That is the port we arrive at this July. We arrive on a Wednesday and are there all day and overnight into Thursday and disembark Thursday morning. I wonder if they will have something similar the day we arrive in Reykjavik for passengers to use??? Time will tell I guess. We have a tour until 3:30/4PM on Wednesday but were thinking we could head over to the city center after our tour.
  18. @fstuff1 Was the free shuttle provided by NCL? Which cruise terminal were you docked at? I’ve read there are two in Reykjavik. Was there a schedule? Did you take it back to the ship?
  19. Yes of course. I wonder if they’ll do tender tickets prior to arrival? When we went to NCLs private island you could reserve tender tickets a day or two before arrival. At that point I didn’t have the priory tender tickets on my latitudes.
  20. Thank you! I checked our NCL Latitudes rewards and according to the list we get priority tenders so I guess that means we can get on a tender earlier than some?
  21. Awesome, thank you for this information. It is extremely helpful.
  22. Thank you, this is super helpful as I was not sure how tipping works outside of the USA.
  23. Fantastic! Thank you. What is a good time to book the Taxi for pick-up at the Premier Inn West Quay? Our ship departs at 5PM and I believe all aboard is 3PM. How does it work with payment? Do the Taxi's take credit cards in the car and do we tip and if so how much? We have never been to the UK so looking for some tips.
  24. Thank you so much. I think we will go with the Premier Inn as it seems to fit our needs.
  25. @John Bull thank you so much! You are always so helpful. We are really leaning towards the Premier Inn West Quay as it is a close to the bus terminal (we will be taking the national express bus from Heathrow) and it’s close to shopping and restaurants. How are the Premier Inns? We have never stayed at one. They have a breakfast add on which is nice so we don’t have to leave the hotel to look for breakfast. How far of a walk would Dock Gate 8 be at the Horizon Cruise Terminal be from the Premier Inn West Quay? Can we prebook a taxi to the Horizon Cruise Terminal?
