I, on the other hand, wanted my family close. I wanted my kids to meet their grandparents as soon as possible, the village that would be there to help raise them. No way I’d take the chance to miss the birth of my grandchild.
They responded to mine. I received an email from them and when I went to the MDR after boarding, they had the request in the system along with my table assignment.
Email RCdining@rccl.com two weeks prior to the cruise. Give them ship/dates and all linked reservation numbers & ask for a table or at least 2 tables next to each other.
I agree. On our next cruise, refundable rate was $500 more than non refundable for our JR suite. In my mind, it made no sense to pay a guaranteed extra $500 to potentially save $500 if we had to cancel. And with the change fee being $200 for us, it makes even less sense. Helps of course that we are retired 👵🏻
Imagine they could ask for proof such as post marked mail, bank statement, bill of some kind. Not normally asked for but if status is being claimed, they could require something to back it up. 🤷♀️
How many of your drinks of choice could you have buying OOP for the price of the package ($550)? Looks like 30 or so alcoholic beverages at $14 plus tip. That’s 5 drinks each plus your Diamond 4 per day. If you think you’ll have more than an additional 15 drinks each over the 3 days, get the package.
AFAIK, MTD is only deck 3 and begins as early traditional dining starts to clear out. If your chosen time is too late, you can go to the MDR upon boarding & see if you can get an earlier time or just show up & be seated as tables open up.
Be careful when ordering. On our first try, we ordered a breakfast entree & a couple of sides each and indicated there were 3 people ordering. We got three of EVERYTHING!!!! Oh my God, the delivery cart was full!
And I’m doing the opposite. Booked my daughter with her cousin & brother even though she’ll stay in our JR Suite. I wanted a hump balcony on deck 8 & there weren’t any for 3. So I booked 2 & will get her a key.
I try to make the attendants job as easy as possible. Clothes are in drawers, closet or hamper. Toiletries are in drawers or on shelves. Shoes are out of the way. Suitcases under the bed. Why should they have to work around and through our stuff?
I’ve used MDR and the reservations line twice post covid. My wait time was less than 10 minutes all nights except one. That wait was 15 minutes. And we had the same table/waitstaff each night.
