I don't understand why you say this because you booked what you wanted, isn't that correct? Perhaps I'm not understanding correctly but why are you one and done? I also sail YC on MSC (a lot) and MSC also has upgraded bidding for balconies to YC. I book what I want so I am happy with my vacation. If you don't want to "pony up" as you say for a different cabin, how is that the fault of the cruiseline making you one and done?

I don't understand any of this but have a question. I have an iphone and my adult kids and mom at home have an iphone. I have the internet minutes that come with our FAS but we really won't be using it and reading this thread that doesn't matter anyway. So, with everyone with an iphone is there an actual way for me to text my mom or adult kids while out at sea or do I need to wait to Bermuda, where my dh just calls Verizon before we leave and does the $10 a day thing for call/text. We sail Haven and my dh only wears dress shorts and a golf shirt for dinners. We eat in the specialties, including LeBistro (although they did seat us in the seating area outside the restaurant, although inside the ship) and Haven restaurant.

Thank you! Actually, we live not too far of a drive from the port but we always like to leave early and be home early. I would like to be in the first group or so going up to the Haven so thinking I want to arrive by 10 am to the port. Thank you so much for your answer and this fabulous thread! Hi. We will be on the Joy in August. Approximately what is the earliest time we can get taken down for disembarkation. Also, we plan to arrive at the pier by 10 am in NY, is this what you would all suggest. We are Platinum on NCL and sail Haven often but not since pandemic. Thank you!

Thank you for this little tidbit of information! I appreciate it. I just added it to my letter and changed some of the wording. However, I also just did what I read CDR Benson did and will print two letters. One for if I see the butler on our first day (I sure hope so, I have NEVER not seen my butler multiple times the first day but this is the first time we are not staying in the actual courtyard so hoping we get the same level of treatment) and one if we do not. Sailing on Joy on August 13 and cannot wait! Right now, the Encore Haven is our absolute favorite and hoping now that Joy will be.

I only drink black iced coffee. I actually ask for the French Press at night, put in fridge and have the iced French press in the morning. LOVE IT! I usually then swap it out at dinner or the bar each day after the first night.

We travel exclusively in the Haven on NCL and my dh will only wear shorts (the reason why we started sailing NCL back when it turned "freestyle"). He wears golf shorts and shirts to dinners, in Haven restaurant and specialty dining. In LeBistro, they have sat us both inside and once outside (well inside the ship but outside the restaurant) due to the shorts since it says pants are required. You will not have any issues.

Hi. I am in the Haven on Joy in August. I have sailed Haven before and thought I had made ressies for comedy shows prior to boarding. We will not being going to the "big show" but want the comedy show. I thought I remembered they use to scan your card at the door to see if you had a reservation. Is this still the case and if so, how do I do this for comedy unless I need to wait to get the concierge the day I board. Thank you.

I currently have an HJ booked for August, right by the elevators on Deck 14 and made a minimum bid on Forward Facing Penthouse HG on Joy. Are the forward facing far from elevators? This is our first time outside of the Courtyard and my husband just wants an elevator ride away, not walking half the ship. I will happily cancel my bid if we are far from Joy elevators that will bring us to the Haven. Thank you all so much!

My husband only packs golf shorts for dinner. We eat in Haven and all specialty restaurants including LeBistro. We have been sat inside and sometimes thry ask us to sit outside, which is fine for us too. Enjoy!
