  1. Monks on skis, now there’s a thought.
  2. They also conventionally have different epithets applied even when denoting the same object. I might refer to the same garment as a posh frock or a pretty dress, but not so much the other way round.
  3. Yet many of the reviews claim QV is tired and dowdy looking.
  4. Of course they do. Equally, they probably want to avoid crushing and crowding in the Grand Lobby, and knowing what people are doing might help with this.
  5. Why would Alex, whoever he is, be giving a talk during dinner?
  6. On our 2001 voyage, we had the old one. On our next trip in 2004, we had the new one, so some time in the intervening years. We were told by post, not on board.
  7. Without a lot of burrowing, which I might have time to do later, I can’t be very precise, but my impression is that it was a long while ago, before, say, 2005.
  8. Presumably all the old UK numbers with nine digits but no letters must have been changed the same time ours were. I’m not sure where that leaves us.
  9. How do you know the comparative ages of the UK numbers?
  10. Our final characters are A and X. Naturally, I am X. I wonder who has the intervening 22 letters. Also, I noticed from my record that these are not our original CW numbers. At some point it was changed from a nine digit code. All most mysterious.
  11. The shipping companies have very much overlapping clientele. Many seem to cruise with all three.
  12. Doesn’t that just epitomise Cunard? I thought you were going to say ’after a few minutes’ but of course not, it was ‘after a few months’. Why we love them. 😀
  13. Snappers. Our posts must have overlapped.
  14. To complicate the issue, mine is AA99999A, so 8 characters in total!
  15. The PG cabins on QM2 are very nice, square shaped, and half as big again as the Brit balconies.
  16. A shame they couldn’t fit in a Grills Courtyard which has been so popular in the Vistas.
  17. Very possibly, but more relevant to shore excursions than to my observation, which was about mild aesthetic enjoyment.
  18. There are cups and saucers in the picture of the Grand Lobby. Could they be counting that?
  19. I’m sure there are quite a number who enjoy the spectacle of formal nights, don’t you think?
  20. Med and Indian are opposite each other at the back of Deck 9. I assume Al Fresco, also at the back of Deck 9 is equivalent to Deck Grill.
