  1. The ship will probably provide some dance classes. Getting in the way seems to be the major sin.
  2. I have at a number of European ports, though I can’t remember which.
  3. If Cunard are cunning, particularly if they know it is your honeymoon, they will upgrade you. Then you will be theirs forever. I think you have to be quite a keen drinker for the package to be worthwhile. If you like wine with your meal, it might be worth considering one of the wine collections. You can buy it on board with your obc.
  4. All would probably be fine, but not at once, unless the air conditioning is in overdrive. 😀Seriously, I wouldn’t wear a sun dress in the restaurant without a jacket, because I would find it too cold.
  5. You, because I am very polite and deferential. Unless the ship is really moving all over the place, in which we may end up in each other’s arms. 😀
  6. Even though the traffic in Southampton can be dire when there are several ships in, I should have thought the main obstacle to your catching your chosen train would be the late arrival of the ship. This rarely happens, but is not unknown. But two hours should be more than enough, once you are off.
  7. I like to keep to whatever side the rail is, so I can stop and look for dolphins etc. But certainly one side or the other, where possible.
  8. For a full insight, perhaps you should have tried the main Post Office in Rome about 50 years ago. Probably completely changed now.
  9. Nasty. My husband isn’t a shuffler, but he certainly walks more slowly than when younger. He wears a hearing aid, but still hears better when he can see the person addressing him. We walk abreast so we can converse. And we stop quite often to enjoy the view or to talk to acquaintances. We certainly try and avoid getting in people’s way, and I always try to move to one side, if only because I hate having people follow me. But there is no particular priority I can see that those who wish to walk faster or jog deserve. Going in the opposite direction seems a good idea for those who wish to move faster. But don’t depict those who tread slowly as a burden or, worse still, a nuisance.
  10. I have just had a wonderful picture pop into my mind. Hurdles, or even 3,000 metres steeplechase barriers on the prom deck. Racers handicapped according to age, of course. That would liven things up. Here race courses can go either way. Not sure about motor racing. And roundabout go clockwise.
  11. Sounds dire. Did you try to get them to move you? Glad the rest was good.
  12. Interesting. I think Cunard is really transatlantic, because I see all the US bits, like the dollars, and the tuxedoes, and terms like broiled and transportation.
  13. Well, I feel much the same, and some of the interiors, like the main dining room, seem gorgeous in the pictures. Nonetheless, we didn’t intend to book her, except QE was in Aus, and QV involved flying, so here we are on her second voyage, if she goes into service on time.
  14. Does that mean you think it will or it won’t? Seems somewhat ambiguous. 😀
  15. In the past, did they sail at 100% capacity on a world cruise?
  16. Race courses vary. And presumably in the S of F you go round roundabouts clockwise.
  17. Sorry, but in what sense of correct? Or is it simply what happens in US? Anyway, for now, on QV, it seems not to be the case.
  18. In corridors - are those hallways? - I keep to the side with a handrail.
  19. Mine arrived about lunch time, so don’t give up hope.
  20. Actually I think that would be quite sensible. Even more sensible still would be not to jog at all. No good can come of it. 😀
  21. A royal flush perhaps?
  22. I spent an idle minute the other day, reading reviews of other cruise lines. Many of those were similar to those of Cunard ships, complaining about falling standards since Covid, lack of staff, dismal food, disappointing service, tatty ship, etc. I suspect dissatisfied passengers are very prone to post reviews, and, if the experience starts off badly, putting a passenger in a negative frame of mind, they can always find plenty of minor faults to criticise.
  23. Almost. QE apparently can carry 20 more passengers, and some of the public rooms are slightly differently titled. I don’t think QV has a Café Carinthia. etc, etc.
  24. I’ve had three in the last week, one of which was to wish me happy birthday. How sweet! Otherwise what I get seems entirely random. The latest was suggesting I might like a trip to the Canaries in 2004. I hope so as I’ve already booked one. Do they think I want to do two?
