I have almost no personal interest in clothes, and dress appropriately on formal nights because it is what people should do. Nonetheless I often enjoy seeing those who like dressing up looking glamorous on formal nights. So in that sense what others wear does affect me
I missed the Wellness Café first time round. Did you get that? And I suppose Al Fresco Dining is a restaurant, though I hope it will have a more enticing name.
Well, isn’t Carnival at least quoted on the UK stock market, with the two companies head offices in Southampton, and the ships registered in Bermuda. So not entirely US. Though I admit that anyone who talks about tuxedoes and charges in dollars doesn’t exactly seem British.
And I e never seen anyone have their wine removed at the gangway. What a to-do that would cause. They have their time cut out reminding men to remove the coins from their trousers.
Not fancy dress, but evening dress is fine, as are suits. I’m sure I wouldn’t have a dress for a white ice theme. Perhaps if you have a diamond engagement ring that might do.
More questions. How do they decide a hull needs a scrape? Is it where the ship has come from? Or how long since it was last done? Or do they have a system of visual inspection or what?
And in my new paper brochure which arrived yesterday, it no longer mentions amounts, just says for special occasions, which on a cruise is just about every minute, wouldn’t you think?
I think without exception the children I have encountered on Cunard have behaved beautifully. On the other hand I still recall encountering a batch of about twenty pirates with cutlasses swarming down the stairs outside the Commodore Club on QV one afternoon. 😀
At present there are a number of abysmal reviews of QV, most of which seem to be people looking for things to complain about and not worrying about complete accuracy. Do ignore these. You will probably have a lovely time, at least as nice as on P & O.
There is clearly a great deal of work to do to make cruising - and all shipping - as harmeless as possible. And I certainly applaud this. Two things about the mussels. Firstly, was this deliberate or did I imagine it? Secondly, and slightly frivolously, are they good to eat?
