  1. It was the policy for years and with the start of Simply More, they changed to 2 accounts for each cabin. For many 1 account per cabin was not an issue as everyone were not on their phones/Ipads all the time. I understand for some that are used to/need to have several devices on at the same time, your DH for his blogging, etc., it was a burden.
  2. Luckily the one device per cabin ended with the Montreal - Miami cruise and now each cabin has 2 accounts so much easier when both want/need to be online.
  3. You did not enjoy the 3 production shows? You did not mention them. Understand everyone's enjoyment of entertainment is about as subjective as everyone's enjoyment of food. We enjoyed the 3 production shows, the comedian (one of the best we have had on a cruise) but the violinist was fine but did not go back for his second performance.
  4. Are you on this cruise and have not been contacted or making assumptions based upon no concrete knowledge on what each person on the cruise has or has not received?
  5. I know - a tough choice......
  6. Thank you for the clarification.....when a cruise has been totally canceled, we have received compensation but when the itinerary is changed, generally we have not but we always purchase travel insurance and so can make a claim via that avenue. We purchase insurance not just for this instance but for the medical, flights, etc. so the cruise protection is just one part.
  7. If I understand your comment, you believe the cruise line should stop offering cruises in places that might be dicey.....as I look at the World map and areas of the World that currently have a conflict, political unrest or humanitarian crisis, I am not finding many places that they could sail...add to that areas that have weather issues and the cruise industry might as well close up. I believe that the passenger does have some personal responsibility to make a decision understanding the potential for an itinerary change or cancelation. I understand that others feel the onus is on the cruise industry. We hope to continue to have the opportunity to sail in the future and will choose the itineraries based upon our level of comfort
  8. The person who said that was completely wrong and not onboard.....the wine, champagne and beer selection is exactly the same as before SM - how do we know, we are on a B2B and the first cruise was under OLife and the 2nd cruise is under SM,,,,,the wine list we have to choose from did not change!
  9. 3) The trip has not commenced yet and so do not know for sure that O will not offer some sort of compensation.....
  10. La Reserve would make sense since it is in the exact same space as Aquamar on Vista - pool deck, opposite side from Waves.
  11. You re the big time spender !!! I spent $2.00 and have a voucher for $.20......going to turn it in and put another $1.80 with it during our next cruise 😜
  12. In our experience, they do not ask for your card until you are finished with the meal since they then account for the drinks. I am sure once OLife is gone then they will no longer ask for your card if you are drinking wine, beer or champagne is a dining venue during meal hours. We do not feel it is intrusive and the wait staff has quickly learned we have the drink package and do not even ask at the beginning of the meal, We put our cards on the side of our table and they take them when they are ready to check us out. Your stateroom card has a notation imprinted on it so any waitstaff immediately know if you have a beverage package and which type by simply seeing your card.
  13. I am sorry you feel this way - it was an honest question and I have no idea what people consider fair for an itinerary that is so drastically changed. Perhaps they are waiting to offer something once they know what the final itinerary is as there , obviously, could be more changes before you sail....we have never been in your situation so have no idea what others consider fair...
  14. How much do you feel you should receive for entire cruise itinerary switched from what you had booked through no fault of the cruise line?
  15. In fact they have a whole department dedicated to looking at each cruise and each port to figure out how to maximize cost savings by cutting time in port and/or canceling the port all together. It is a full time job but cutting cost is the most important aspect for the cruise lines and having happy clients do not matter - at least that is what I have learned from all of the conspiracy theories for this topic.
  16. If you chose that as your OLife perk otherwise no.....
  17. From my experience in the GDR for breakfast and lunch, nice longer shorts and tennis shoes are worn. People go to the GRD for breakfast and lunch to enjoy a longer and more refined meal. Terrace and Waves work well for people wishing to wear even more casual dress.
  18. Currently on Vista and there is shampoo, conditioner and lotion along with 2 different types of bar soap - I believe you can request shower gel too
  19. I was relating our first hand experience as currently onboard under OLife - 2 accounts
  20. Every stateroom gets 2 free WIFI accounts to use as they want - 2 people, each on with their 1 device or 1 person on with 2 devices on at the same time. The WIFI accounts are not for a specific device but for the cabin to use on what ever device/s they choose.
  21. I just write in BOLD letters cross the top - COLD WASH, LOW HEAT DRY, and then circle and put stars around, I have had no problem with my delicates this way. I also put in the "special instruction" space on the form,
  22. No - when someone ask about "house" wines, I take that to mean, like on Viking, they have one red, one white and walk around to offer those. Or in a restaurant, they offer one red or one red that are labeled as the "house" wine. It does not indicate the vineyard, year, etc. We have ordered off the wine menu in every venue, any wine that is offered by the glass.
  23. We are currently on Vista and have the beverage package and in every venue we have had no issues with ordering any glass of wine from the menu and our glasses have been filled very nicely. They do not have "house" wines on O....
