  1. It's obviously not just a day, more of a montage of their cruise. But it was really well done.
  2. Terrific video about a day on the Splendor in the Baltic.
  3. Like you I used to snorkel a lot in my younger days. I'm 71 now, and I had a blast snorkeling on our Splendor Caribbean cruise this year. Now, I've always been the kind of snorkler that likes to just float quietly and let the fish do the work. If you are someone who likes to get a little more aggressive it might be different.
  4. Plus any sign that's in Swedish was basically worthless to us. I have a shot at figuring it out for many languages, but I would never have guessed that the "Biluthyrning" sign was for car rentals. This was pre-Google translate.
  5. The booking process will automatically use your OBC.
  6. Interesting.. 3 in our group had massages and they all said they paid the brochure price. Maybe they were too relaxed after the treatment!
  7. Yes, the listed price has the gratuity included.
  8. Yes you can. The 20% gratuity is included in the price of the treatment and is not a separate line item.
  9. I don't actually have too many complaints about Regent's website (although I started this thread by complaining about it). It's got a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it it's OK. I do wish it was faster. I know that some people complain that there's no app, but I don't miss it at all. Mass market cruises absolutely require it for booking shows, dinners, etc. while onboard. When Virgin Voyages started cruising their app had major problems, and it was a real disaster for their passengers. But it's just not necessary on Regent IMHO.
  10. That seems accurate. The good thing is that we were hoping to go to San Sebastian on a tour, and Saint-Jean looks to be 20 minutes closer than Biarritz would be.
  11. While Regent's website isn't great, I've learned to navigate pretty it well. I do a lot of "open link in new tab" so that I can always get back to where I was if need be. It's clumsy but I don't consider it too much of a problem. But now we're researching Med and Northern Europe cruises for next summer. And it appears that if a town is hyphenated, the website drops what's after the hyphen. So Saint-Malo and Saint-Tropez both show up as just Saint. Biarritz also shows that we'd be docking in "Saint," and I have no idea what town that is supposed to be, This happens with Port-Vendres, which simply is shown up as "Port". Pont-Aven is shown as "Pont" etc. With some Google mapping work I can figure out most of these (not Biarritz though), but it's not too much to ask that the names of the ports are accurate.
  12. You definitely can request it, and will probably get what you ask for, especially if you do it in advance. My son-in-law had his TA ask about Monster Energy drinks and his suite had tons of the stuff.
  13. We're on the fence for that very cruise. We're looking for one last splash to finishe off our cruising "career" and that may be the one. Coincedentally, we'd also be 73 and 75 at time of sailing!
  14. Is it possible to decline the pre-cruise air but use Regent Air post-cruise? A test booking on the website doesn't offer that option, but I thought I remembered reading that it was possible. We're pricing out a trans-Atlantic cruise and just need BC coming back home.
  15. Yeah, it's awful. We all wish he'd give up the stuff but to no avail so far.
  16. Our son-in-law drinks those gross Monster Energy drinks. He typically has a big can every morning. He had our TA ask Regent if they could stock some for his suite, and lo and behold their room had some at arrival, and it was restocked daily. I think Pepsi Max would be an easier ask than that. Our cruise did leave from Miami which helped.
  17. That's something I hadn't considered, and explains why it appears that we are MUCH happier with the included business air than many are. Our three European cruises have all included a first class flight from PHX to somewhere on the east coast, a reasonable layover spent in the business class lounge, followed by an overnight flight across the water in lie-flat seats. Post cruise has been the same in reverse. When we price booking our own flights from Phoenix we can't come close to what the air credit would be. I guess that'd be drastically different if we lived in NYC.
  18. We are already able to book classes for our March 2025 Grandeur cruise, 23 months prior to sailing! Since there's no outside contractors to deal with, I think that once the instructor and class content have been decided Regent releases them all in a block. So check often.
  19. He also mentions that the Nav's captain left two passengers behind in St. Maarten because they were late getting back to the ship. I applaud that!
  20. I see what you mean. The description of Grandeur's main pool is identical to that of Explorer's aft infinity pool. Instead of counting on the hopeless website for info I guess I'll just have to wait for actual photos. Those should be coming soon, right?
  21. The first two Explorer class ships have an infinity pool on deck 5 aft. The pool itself was rarely used on the cruises we have been on, and I know that Grandeur replaces the pool with a hot tub or tubs. But it also appears that the main pool has been changed in some way/ The website describes it thusly: Go for a swim, stay for the views. Wherever you are in our Infinity-Edge Plunge Pool the views are dramatic, as the pool contours to the stern of the ship. I can't find any pictures so far. Anyone know what we should expect in the pool areas?
  22. In my opinion this is the most valuable CR tip of them all. On Splendor earlier this month we were seated in a quiet section on the side the first night and had a perfectly paced meal served by Andreas. From then on we always asked to be seated in Andreas's section and every meal was a treat. Due to miscommunication we were seated in Rea's section one evening. We decided to roll with it but it wasn't the same.
