Glad to hear confirmation that you can get the higher Elite discount. Did you have to ring the Captain’s Club number rather than the general X one, and do they charge your CC direct or can you use some of your OBC?

I was able to use OBC.

October 2018, my DW cancels the New England and Canada cruise 48 Hours before sail away,  I cruise alone, Celebrity returns me the Tax and Port fees and all the cruise planner purchases from my DW, NO extra charges for single passenger and I get double Captain's Club points

You no longer get double points unless it was a solo booking to start.

Did you read the thread?  We had an 11am flight and made it.  We booked with Rome cabs.  We were at the airport in 45 min.

Thanks.  Yes, I did read it but the opinions weren’t too clear.  I am able to do self disembarkation so can get off the ship early.  What time did you schedule RomeCabs for pick up?

  4. I received the blue chip free cruise offer for Mexico, which is fine with me.  No airfare required.  I barely gamble and last cruise was Apex in April.

l called (on hold about 30 min) and was told it is for a unobstructed balcony, good for Sept 22 to March 23 (depending on availability), upgrade availability and cost of upgrade depends on date picked.  Taxes are about $318 for 2.

    Questions….

if I book solo, can I add someone later?  Or better off booking for 2 and name change, cancel, or no show the 2nd person?

I need to book by end of this month.  I will probably book and worry about the details later.

    thanks for your input.

“When you are there, can you confirm and report back if they really have true air consitioning or typical Scandinavian style "air cooling" which is basically an electronic ventilation system (allowing you to change temperature of the room by couple of degrees but not remove humidity)”

After spending 30 years in adjusting airflow in building , I have never seen a system that cools without Dehumidification,

it could be bring in outside air into the space if it the outside air is cooler than the inside air.

if I remember I will take a look

My aunt and uncle had a “swamp cooler” in their garage in So Cal desert.  Only cools a room a few degrees but better than nothing.  Maybe something like that????

I understand that you want to buy a City Pass before you leave home, but since the Pass is not scanned but only shown to the bus driver or at checks, in trains, there is no first scan.

Validity of the City Pass is from purchase.

You must ensure that you have a data roaming plan in Denmark for your phone. Install and prepare the DOT App - in-app purchases are easy.

Thank you for confirming this.  I did load the app so it should be easy once I arrive.

Sorry - it’s not called city card but a City Pass - more details.

A City Pass allows you to travel unlimited within a specified zone area for 24, 48, 72, 96 or 120 hours.

You can buy City Pass at the ticket vending machine on all stations as well as at Copenhagen Airport, or you can buy your City Pass with the “DOT Tickets” app.

If I buy the city pass on the app, does it activate at first scan or at time of purchase?  I am hoping at first scan as I’d like to buy it before I leave home.

It just occurred to me I hadn’t prepaid my gratuities so those are hanging out there. If I do a $500 charge with the expectation of using for gratuities and I have OBC leftover, can I get that back in cash?

Use a different card for on board account.  Then any left over will go back to another card.

I've been looking at a cruise for 2022 then too, but have my doubts that flying out on debarkation (??) day will be possible. I guess it depends on where we can get our PCR tests to fly back to Canada. Does anyone know if they will be offering testing on the ship for people leaving?

Another thought is to see if the airport is offering COVID-19 testing.  My sister recently returned from Switzerland and they offered it at the airport.

  10. I am booked on a cruise Sept 2022.  Planning to spend 3 nights in Copenhagen before boarding the ship.  Friends are staying at Scandic Palace.  I want to be able to meet up but don’t need to be at the same place.   I was looking at Copenhagen Strand as I like the idea of being near water.  I will take metro from the airport and hopefully to the ship. Unless the weather is bad, I am hoping to walk everywhere.

Is the Copenhagen Strand in a good area?

    thank you

  11. My parents used special needs at sea for different equipment.  They needed a wheelchair for my mom.  The chair was in their cabin when they boarded in Miami and they left it in the cabin when they disembarked in Los Angeles.

I expect other equipment may be handled differently, but they were very happy with the service.
