I have used them before on Royal Caribbean. I checked the other day but I don’t have anything new...bummer. The good thing is you can always buy OBC before you leave.

Hotel Arlecchino (next to hotel Olimpia) is a good place near P Roma. Our first day we too were exhausted. We headed toward the ghetto and found a place to eat, did a little shopping and headed back to the hotel.
I agree with the above. Staying near P Roma isn’t a long walk to St Marks. We walked from our hotel, to the Rialto bridge, back to St Marks and eventually caught a vaparetto back to P Roma. It is so fun wandering the alleys of Venice.
I’ve also stayed at Hotel Violino d’Oro near St Marks, which is a great location. We took a water taxi from the airport to the hotel and then from the hotel to the cruise ship. That trip was a different budget[emoji3]

My parents went years ago (on their own). They enjoyed it. My stepdad bought a T-shirt that said Barbados in Hebrew.

Here’s the link for National Express coaches. Considerably cheaper than the train and you are guaranteed a seat
http://www.nationalexpress.com/routes/southampton-to-london.aspx
The driver will load your cases on and off. It’s quite a comfortable way to travel, you’ll see a bit of London as you drive in.
London Victoria coach station can be a bit of a trial, and the walk to the tube is inconvenient. However, with your luggage and with folk who are maybe not so good on their feet, I think the savings you might make on the Southampton - London part of your journey could fund taxis to your hotel direct from the coach station. I wouldn’t advise trying to cope with luggage on the tube at any time of day
Although I did the reverse (London to Southampton), the bus is very easy. I also stayed walking distance to Victoria Station. The bus terminal is a couple blocks away. I would stay in that area again. Convenient and walkable to so much in London.

For a small inn like place check out the Ca Doge (right in the Piazale Roma). The Best Western Olimpia is another nearby as is the Santa Chiara. All of these places are popular with cruisers because of the P. Roma (or very nearby) location. You can get to the P. Roma from the airport by using the inexpensive ATVO Express bus. These are the closest hotels to the cruise port with the P. Roma connected via the People Mover or you can always take a land taxi from the P. Roma over the bridge and right into the port.

Hotel Arlecchino is next to BW Olympia. I’ve stayed there and would stay there again. Great location.

I have traveled extensively solo (cruises and land tours). On my first solo cruise, I made sure to get a balcony cabin. That way, if I wanted some time to myself, I had my space.
But I do recommend taking shore excursions with others, and meeting people on your roll call.
As I tell myself, if I am not willing to travel alone at times, I won’t go. And for me, that isn’t an option.
I’ve met some great people while I was traveling solo, and still keep in touch.
Enjoy!

Can someone confirm, the passenger doesn’t receive their held bottles until the day of disembarkation? Other lines return it the evening before do you can pack it in your luggage.

My understanding is that the OBC is per cabin, not per person.

I’ve found that the only sugar free syrup for coffee that they carry is vanilla.

No form needed in port of Tampa last weekend. Asked how much I spent (yes I keep a list) and they waved me thru.

Interesting, on Jewel last week we were able to get half-orders of pasta.
We asked and were told no. All directions apparently come from Miami (so they said). Too much food. They should allow 1/2 and full portions for pasta and main course.

Just got off Rhapsody. Any size drink, one punch. And if you have any leftover punches, it can now be used on future cruises.

Ginger ale, ginger snaps, ginger candy.
Candied ginger too. Coca Cola (cola syrup is good). But I do travel with meclazine.

My advice is not to purchase ahead of time and talk to the workers at the café so they can tell you what YOUR drink will cost 1 or 2 or 3 punches.
I agree. End of last year, on the Jewel, it was one punch per drink. But that seems to now vary.
I would wait until boarding, which I plan to do in Nov.

I have not stayed at that hotel but in the area near Victoria Station. Great location, a lot of restaurants and walking distance to so many sights. As in any city, just be aware of your surroundings. I would definitely stay there again....

Platinum/Emerald on RCCL is Select on Celebrity. You need to call them but it worked when I was Platinum on Royal.

Because of all the different opinions/ situations that have occurred on this I am waiting until I am onboard to purchase. If they confirm I can get a drink with 2 shots then I will buy it, if not I will stick to regular coffee and not waste my money. I would advise others to do the same if they are worried about it. Multiple people have confirmed the price is the same for the card onboard.
I agree. I bought the card on my TA last fall when the card was new. Any size drink was one punch. Now that people have had a different experience, I will ask before buying onboard this fall.
2 punches per beverage no longer makes it a good value.

Small solarium cafe, opens from 3pm, so no breakfast there.
Great coronation chicken wraps. And the beef rolls.

Interesting. They offered a small breakfast (sandwich, yogurt, fruit, etc.) on my Nov 2016 TA.

I prefer to stay near the top of las Ramblas near Placa Catalunya. I've stayed at both Hotel Continental and Hotel Lloret. You can take the Aerobus from the airport and a axi to the port.
I'd stay at both hotels again.
Enjoy! Barcelona is a great city.

Another vote for Hotel Arlecchino. Very convenient. And get a canal view room if possible.

You need to call your TA. The TA will call RCCL and be able to tell you the cost, if any.

This is a great deal. The only downside is that it is triggered whenever you call OR receive voice/text.
This is great to know. I was looking into this plan for my <48 hours in Barcelona before boarding my ship. I will turn my phone on upon my arrival in Europe.....
Years ago their plan was per calendar day (12am to 1159pm) not rolling 24 hours.

Do they offer anything on Transatlantic cruises if I book onboard?

We used the same company to order a transport chair for my Mom on a cruise. They chair was in our cabin when we boarded and we just left it in the cabin at the end of the cruise. Worked out great.
You might try posting your question on the Disabled Cruise Travel board here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=190
My parents rented a wheelchair and had the same experience. Very convenient and worked perfectly.
