  1. @mauibabesCan you provide a link to the results? For some reason I can not seem to locate them. Thanks!
  2. I guess I have been lucky. My roll calls on Azamara have been active, but I worked to make it that way. I posted regularly….not every day, but at least weekly. I offered to maintain a list of all participants and I updated it and posted that weekly. I frequently posted the expected date and time of the CC gathering onboard and reminded people to watch the list of events on the first day aboard so that they could meet all the participants. I have either printed name tags or brought the supplies so people could fill them out themselves. It seems that once someone offers to do these things, people respond and participate. Conversation begins on the roll calls and continues.
  3. Hi DPRobert! Great to hear from you! It was nice meeting you and it was a great cruise! I would recommend the Ireland Intensive cruise to anyone. I think Scotland would be great to see, too! Another part of the Destination Immersion that I enjoyed on this trip was the local food dish that was featured each day in Windows. There were some authentic Irish dishes offered that passengers might not have had a chance to try onshore. They were offered at both breakfast and dinner.
  4. Sounds like tea was the main event ! Maybe everyone was filling up on food there because the restaurants at dinner were not so great?!
  5. That’s very helpful to know because some of us have been considering giving Seabourn a try. How old is the Odyssey and what was the size of the ship?
  6. Regional beverages? Where’s the Dark and Stormy or Rum Swizzles? 😀
  7. I am a Mainer. I don’t live there now. I was hoping for a real Maine lobster. 😢 Edited to add…..it’s almost impossible to get any lobster at all on a cruise anymore…..I was hoping Oceania’s would be good.
  8. Note to Self…….Maybe it would be better to just order the steamed lobster.
  9. I see lobster shell. Where is the lobster? Is this how it was presented or after you ate? getting concerned!
  10. The web site went thru a major revision in March and is still a work in progress much to the aggravation of a lot of us.
  11. Agree! Don’t understand why they don’t just get this done! Especially if this is the ship for the next two World Cruises!
  12. Agree @tgg, that is exactly what he said. As a matter of fact, he said they would be there for the Christmas cruise to follow.
  13. You are right. I think on Onward the desk tops may have been a glossy white…..different from the other Azamara ships.
  14. Is that second picture Azamara? I have never seen a white desk on an Azamara ship. The green wing chair looks like Azamara, but the white desk looks a R class Oceania ship. They painted all the cabinets and built-ins white.
  15. Thanks for that description of the onward in Greece…..sounds wonderful. So you volunteered at the Azamazing evening that my June Pursuit cruise went to at St Anne’s in Belfast? That was a wonderful venue! First we were greeted with either a Pint of Guiness or a Jamison Irish Whiskey cocktail 😀. The Cathedral was gorgeous and the choir was great. I didn’t see any food…there may have been some type of appetizers offered but we missed it. We didn’t need more food anyway! I commented on the warmth of the people in Belfast that we experienced around the city that day. Very kind and hospitable to us! We had a wonderful time there.
  16. Dr H, just to clarify something….I have not complained about any of my Azamara cruises. I have said I love Azamara. I find fault with the CEO and her lack of communication. I have a future booking on Azamara. I would love to hear more about the subject I posted about….other peoples destination immersion experiences.
  17. I have to admit….a lot of my posts have been negative lately! I have been pretty upset with the CEO and her lack of communication. I was just looking at another social media website. It showed pictures from a recent cruise (to Greece, I think) with blocks of local honey being featured at a brunch onboard. These are the things that make Azamara so special! No other cruise line does this, that I have been on anyway, other than Azamara. My DH and I were just talking about this the other night. These are things that drew us to Azamara in the first place! I fear that Azamara may be getting away from this but seeing these posts makes me have faith again that these core values that made Azamara what it is are still in effect……at least amongst the Captain and some of the Hotel Managers! We have all heard of Captain Johannes stopping on Norway cruises to pick up local strawberries, or in other places local pastries being brought onboard. On one of our cruises we picked up local fish in Kotor to be grilled and served later that evening. We watched the boat load them onboard from our veranda. We didn’t have any local food brought onboard our Ireland cruise on Pursuit in June but we did have a local group brought onboard in Dublin to entertain us and another special thing was a slow sail by the Cliffs of Moher that was announced ahead of time by the Captain so that everyone could be prepared to see it. So I am reminded that these are things that Azamara does so well and I wanted to acknowledge that! 😀
  18. I can’t answer your Antarctica questions. As to the cruise experience…..Azamara includes basic wines and alcohol all day long, not just wines and beer with lunch and dinner as Oceania does with Simply More promotion. The officers on Azamara are more visible and interactive with passengers. Communication from the Captain is more forthcoming about weather, port info, etc. if a port has to be missed due to weather, Azamara makes every effort to find another port to visit. On the other hand, I think Marina will have undergone a significant refurbishment onboard such as Riviera has just had by that time. There are more spaces inside to relax inside in cold, inclement weather. The Azamara ships are all R class as Insignia and the other R class ships Oceania has. They can get crowded when most Passengers are inside. Also, Marina will have much better bathrooms than the verandas on Azamara, if that matters to you. Hope that helps.
  19. Thanks, @uktog. These ships are definitely over 15 yrs old so they should be having the dry docks every 2 to 5 yrs,, if I read this correctly.
  20. Are the dry docks that these R class ships be done every 5 years mandatory by some regulatory agency? I am referring to the mandatory out of water full hull inspections…….
  21. Carol Cabezas has not written an email to her customers about the website issues since this Spring! And now she makes her reintroduction to her customers on Instagram with Anna Navarro?! And we are all supposed to be excited?! How about this, Carol…….. How about your teams reinstates the Loyalty.Newsletter with some real information to your clients?! I could care less how Anna Navarro’s cruise went. And by the way, I think she cruised once before on Azamara. They are going to discuss “what makes Azamara unique”. What makes Azamara unique right now is the mess that the website is compared to other cruise lines.
  22. Have been on all 4 ships now. Did Pursuit in June. It’s beautiful…!! The Living Room design, as you mention above is fantastic. I would LOVE to see it on the other ships and no, Onward does not have that design. I would sail again on Pursuit anytime! The refurbishment that was done is much better than Onward’s.
