  1. I guess if you want big entertainment, you need big ships. I'm pretty sure Princess is trying to target a new generation of cruisers that will cruise with them over the next 20+ years (the life of the new ships).
  2. I was surprised to see this earlier. Lots of comments saying please give us smaller ships with a promenade deck.
  3. I recommend working through your CVP for this. I once booked a second room for my teens, but one was 17, one 16, and 13. We thought we'd have to split the adults across the rooms, but our CVP was able to book it just fine. The rooms were not next door either.
  4. Where does this information come from? It's different than what a CVP told me the other day regarding this sailing, saying that room availability had dramatically decreased over the past month as things were filling up.
  5. We're on the same Sept 18th Discovery cruise. It disembarks in Vancouver. Princess sent an email the other day clearly outlining the requirements to complete the ArriveCan via app or website (the email included a direct link to it), and the testing requirements. All of which have been on the website since the beginning. Sorry OP you're having a difficult time with this one. I haven't bothered to call Princess about anything since it's been pretty clear on their website. I do agree that the requirement to get tested to enter Canada by cruise ship is pretty lame considering I can walk, drive, boat, and fly into Canada without any testing, but step on a cruise ship and now I have to pay a bunch more $ for testing... :(
  6. I think Princess HQ is in Santa Clarita, California. Parent Carnival Cruise Corp is in Miami. Our medallions that arrived this week came from Carson, CA.
  7. The only benefit I see to EZAir is being able to defer the purchase cost of your flights until final payment is due on your cruise. I don't think counting on EZAir to "get you to the ship" is a reasonable expectation (I realize that is part of their sales pitch, but I think people need to take a little more personal responsibility). I've only used EZAir one time for our upcoming September cruise. So far it has worked fine for us. We ALWAYS travel in at least 1-2 days early, and usually will stay overnight on disembarkation so we can take the morning flight the next day. With years of heavy travel experience behind me, I prefer morning flights that are less likely to be delayed or cancelled. Anyway, for our cruise coming up in a few weeks, we booked EZAir when the flights were first made available, over 300 days ago, and we booked first class seats at a very good price. Since that time the flight times have changed 9 times, not by EZAir, but by the airlines with all of their schedule adjustments. My flights were finally ticketed by EZAir some time back and everything is on schedule for our departure. So far, I wouldn't hesitate using EZAir again if I wanted the benefit of deferring the cost of the flights, but otherwise would tend to book on my own so I have full control.
  8. I called and booked with Juneau Car Rental today for our cruise in September. They were super friendly and helpful and quickly emailed me instructions how to pick up the car a short walk from the dock, and to drop off also a short walk away. Looks super easy and convenient.
  9. I have been assuming that the cancellation of Diamond in September has resulted in the other west coast September cruises filling up to capacity.
  10. I think you are correct. Popular itineraries are having no shortage of full bookings. I think we're seeing a lot of new cruisers as well, which lend themselves to shorter duration cruises. A family member was just recently on Mardi Gras where it was reported they had 6009 passengers onboard. It was also mentioned that over a quarter of them were first time cruisers (at least to Carnival). I don't know for sure what Princess is experiencing, but I would assume the same for those shorter and popular sailings.
  11. What is the URL of the website you're trying to access?
  12. Is there a trick to getting this new benefit? I see the suite experience webpage still refers to embarkation day only (https://www.princess.com/learn/ships/staterooms/suites/).
  13. That's what I love about this! Everybody wins (including Princess)!
  14. It drives me crazy too. Especially when wrong information is given and then the OP or admin turns off comments!!!
  15. /Sigh! I liked it better when it wasn't so clear! At least then I could have probably gotten away with antigen testing 3 days before boarding cruise that ends in Canada. Now with the new guidance it's pretty clear that it's 2 days.
  16. It's right in the wording. Voyages 16 days or longer, as well as.... The "as well as" is the same as "OR". So It's either 16 days or longer, OR ...voyages ending in Canada... I can't see any other way to interpret it, especially when Canada's guidance is also specific to state "to board a cruise ship that will dock in Canada at any point on the cruise".
  17. Thats right. According to the updated requirements posted on Friday on the Princess website, stopping in Canada is okay, but ENDING in Canada requires a test. I'm waiting for someone to tell me how that makes any sense. :)
  18. We have a large group going next spring where one is unable to be vaccinated. The exemption letter received, to be provided at the terminal as proof of approved status, includes the following requirements: Show proof of a negative pre-travel COVID-19 RT-PCR test Have an embarkation day COVID-10 test performed at the terminal May only go ashore according to local government restrictions allow Will be denied boarding if you do not comply
  19. When you all are tipping extra for room service, do you add the tip on a receipt so it goes on your onboard account, or are you tipping cash?
  20. I agree that the suite breakfast at Sabatini's is one of the best suite perks Princess has. It's quite, it's relaxed, it's completely personalized, and the food prep and delivery is better than any other food we've had on ship. The only day we miss it is when in AK and visiting the glacier, which day we order in and enjoy the aft balcony for scenic cruising.
  21. Is there something on Discovery and Enchanted that is exclusive? A venue or feature?
  22. I've only been to Sitka one time, and absolutely LOVED it. We had to tender, but it was easy in and out. I've always wanted to go back, but Princess rarely stops there. We booked the first week of May next year on Discovery just because it stops in Sitka. I'm secretly hoping that our September Discovery cruise switches to Sitka as well. :)
  23. An entire section of the Princess website is dedicated to families and kids: https://www.princess.com/ships-and-experience/onboard-experience/kids-and-teens/ I love seeing families on board together.
  24. Strongly urge you to visit Princess's FAQ to understand your situation and options available to you: https://www.princess.com/plan/cruise-with-confidence/cruise-health/frequently-asked-questions/us-cruises/
