  1. That’s a really good idea. I wish I had thought of that! Will do it next time.
  2. I sat with a future cruise consultant and she quoted me a fare that was $2100 over what I could see online. Make sure you look before you leap!
  3. Don’t give up hope. We were invited in May and in obstructed balconies. I am Platinum, not Elite, and my traveling companions were 1 Gold and 2 Blue. I am beyond thrilled that they got to experience this and would, like other posters, pay $150-200 for the experience.
  4. Had that issue in reverse on Discovery in May. Man in food line threw the biggest fit over a coffee only line. Screaming at me about having common sense. I just let it go but I wanted to say, “why would I want to wait for you and your family to spend 5 minutes gawking at the food, discussing it with your child, and waiting for them to heat it up when all I want is coffee? Who has the common sense, Mr. Blue Card!”
  5. I think finding the porter outside is the key! I never even saw the ‘luggage line’!
  6. I was in L102 a few weeks ago and had 2 chairs, 2 foot rests, and a nice table on my balcony.
  7. I am wondering when the Alex Guarnaschelli promo will hit as she participated in the christening too!
  8. Using Seattle Express is the best way to get there. Once you get off the bus/van there are porters waiting. You drop your luggage and go inside through security. Then to waiting room. We hadn’t even finished our juice when they called for boarding. On our return there were lots of people in a line waiting to be told where to go. We bypassed that line, like our shuttle driver told us to do when he dropped us off, and went straight to the Seattle Express area. We might have waited 15-20 minutes for our ride. I never saw a parking garage or a ticket.
  9. We reserved the day before disembarkation. No trouble at all. They have tons of busses and vans.
  10. I used it several weeks ago and it was awesome! My bags were back home before I was. Also, there is a line where you can tell them where you are eligible for a waiver of bag fees.
  11. I had this issue when using a casino fare. Had to call my PVP who got me a better fare and $200 OBC to add it.
  12. My niece found 9 on Discovery Princess. We hid 20. I think she liked hiding them better than finding them. When we would hide them she always rewarded the people who washed their hands in the buffet with ducks-haha!
  13. We left 4 in Ketchikan on Discovery Princess two weeks ago.
  14. These are good cozy mysteries: Alaskan Diner Mysteries https://www.amazon.com/Mousse-Murder-Alaskan-Diner-Mystery-ebook/dp/B07WCZPZY7/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1BGFP2DAB8GNY&keywords=alaskan+diner+mysteries&qid=1686180719&sprefix=Alaskan+diner%2Caps%2C150&sr=8-1 Alaska Mysteries by Sue Henry https://www.amazon.com/Murder-Iditarod-Trail-Alaskan-Mystery-ebook/dp/B00S541EVM/ref=sr_1_1?crid=K67FYRPZZDXK&keywords=sue+henry+alaska+mystery+series&qid=1686180847&sprefix=Sue+henr%2Caps%2C162&sr=8-1 Maxie and Stretch Mysteries by Sue Henry https://www.amazon.com/Serpents-Trail-Maxie-Stretch-Mystery-ebook/dp/B002DQDO7K?ref_=ast_author_dp
  15. We did something new in Juneau. The Alaskan Brewing Company has opened a restaurant next to their gear store. You can try their beers and eat a snack, we shared the appetizer plate with bbq salmon, brisket, wild boar burnt ends, and reindeer sausage, it was delicious! The adults also tried the beer!
  16. Totem Bight was awesome. We initially wanted to use the shuttle bus but the lines were long and people were having to stand on the bus- the ride is approximately 20 minutes. We hired a cab at $100/hour and went to Totem Bight, Wal Mart (niece forgot her rain boots), and Creek Street. It was nice and we learned quite a bit about Ketchikan. The Totem Bight gift shop is local and has lots of affordable, indigenous art! It also has one room museum that was interesting. WalMart also has great t-shirts, bags, and gloves/hats/scarves!
  17. We had to wait in line for about 20 minutes but it was worth it, pro tip- don’t wait in the line coming out of the port where they tell you where to go- walk around the Stanton’s to Parking Space R. It will get you through much faster than waiting for all of the people who don’t know where they are going! It took us less than 20 minutes to leave the port. We originally planned to only use service to the pier. Once we got there, we changed our minds. The lines for cabs for those embarking were crazy and the Uber/Lyft drop off was quite a walk. We literally were dropped off, walked in, went into Platinum/Elite area and boarded around 11. No waits anywhere. we did have an issue with a port worker denying entry into Platinum/Elite area because the sign said Elite. I made him ask a supervisor. We got in.
  18. I know this isn’t your ship…… On embarkation in Seattle for Discovery Princess * No wine table * No one taking water/soda bottles
  19. They had MOOSE Races in the piazza on Discovery last week.
  20. I book with my cruise planner.
  21. Just of the Discovery. Ate in Crown Grill with 4 different entrees. The beef was awful and it took over 2 hours. The beef tenderloin in the final night and in 360 were much better, or course the 360 beef was sublime. I will not eat in Crown Grill again- even if it is free.
  22. It also shows ‘a gift from Princess cruises’ on many items when booked through Princess.
  23. It was Ketchikan and it was real. Leaving today. If I find it I will report back!
