  1. Here is the announcement flyer, FAQs, and sailing redeployment information for CocoCay: https://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Celebrity/General_Info/Special_Offers/6_27_23_CAM_PDCC-Consumer.pdf https://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Celebrity/General_Info/FAQ/CEL_CocoCay_FAQs.pdf https://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Celebrity/Deployment/CEL_6_27_23_CAM_CaribbeanRedeployment-DeploymentFlyer.pdf
  2. I am too lazy to look, what is the other board saying? "Oh no, don't tell us we have to share the island with those people?" "Our day just became imperfect"
  3. Sometimes my online humor is a little too dry.
  4. Deleted. Totally botched post. Can't be saved.
  5. They might be announcing a much requested overhaul with the Captains Club. Celebrity may introduce new tiers that will include names like Diamond, Diamond Plus, and Pinnacle Club. Wouldn't that be perfect.
  6. I have a luggage limit question. I understand that passengers for the charted plane ride to Baltra are limited to one checked bag (44 lb max) and one carry-on bag not to exceed 17 lb. In addition to that is there an allowance for a "personal item"--such as a purse or backpack? I think from what I have read is that the carry-on bag weight limit is not rigorously enforced. Is that correct? I am asking because my carry-on bag will be containing my camera equipment so it will be heavy although I will have to weigh it to see what it actually is.
  7. Wow. I certainly think they hit the mark as far as acknowledging your grievances and a heartfelt apology. However the OBC credit amount is in dispute still? I think you are going to get a Christmas card from them at the end of the year.
  8. One more thing that you might find useful, here is the 2023 Galapagos e-brochure issued by Celebrity: https://secure.viewer.zmags.com/publication/a54ff138#/a54ff138/1 (from Celebrity's trade website) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZGEJrje9nrf1W_kt0u0wjqQG38Kb7izU/view?usp=sharing (downloaded as a PDF)
  9. My advice is to choose the itinerary that you like better as they are very different. Personally I think Silhouette is a better ship for a TA--larger ship with more venues which I think would be great for all the sea days. However we did sail on Constellation last October for her Rome to Tampa cruise and we loved the ship and the crew. We had a nice aft cabin to watch time go by. Oh, that is another thing, the aft cabins are better on Constellation vs Silhouette in my opinion.
  10. That is interesting that FBC will release the ticket which is good for you. I have never heard of that being done before.
  11. We convert our cash into memories in the Casino.
  12. Here is an article from the South Florida Sun Sentinel: PortMiami reopens 11 hours after boating accident left one person dead, disrupted cruise traffic A tragic collision between a boat and the Fisher Island Ferry occurred very early this morning at the Port of Miami that resulted in one fatality. Less importantly, it affected 3 cruise ships because the port was temporarily closed: Carnival Celebration, MSC Seascape, and NCL Escape. Consequently all three ships docked very late after the port was re-opened in the afternoon. In fact they are still there: Port of Miami webcam. The Port of Miami posted on Twitter that all three ships are should sail away before midnight. I guess a lot of people missed their flights out of MIA or FLL from the sailings that just ended on those ships. And I imagine there will be some altered itineraries for the sailings that are about to start. All 3 ships are doing 7 night itineraries. I don't think that Celebrity has any ships running out of Miami at the moment although we will have a cruise from there next April (Summit).
  13. You're welcome. It is a trip of a lifetime emotionally and financially.
  14. I am so sorry to read this. So disappointing!
  15. The flights to Baltra and back are special chartered flights.
  16. You mis-read my post. I didn't book through FBC to save $5 although that was the difference in the price.
  17. Glad you were ok and didn't miss the ship!
  18. Unfortunately, the email is the correct response--as you already know--but it should have been in place from the beginning which would have eliminated this rags to riches to rags story. It was a lot of work on your part only to end up in the same place that you started (and a 6am outbound flight at that!). I am sorry all this happened to you. Hopefully your cruise will go a lot better when the time comes. If it's possible, give your mind a much needed rest today. Or give your dog a hug. If you don't have one, you should get one. They love you no matter what class you are flying in.
  19. Thank you for posting your well written review. How did you think it compared to the other lines you've been on such as Princess? Would you book Celebrity again?
  20. If you click on this link, it will take you to a simple spreadsheet tool which will allow you to see shore excursions and pricing offered for your Celebrity sailing of interest: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ukT6gOPcu7coL92LuDcyDaWXQfO88u5kN9FEdHRj5bM/edit?usp=sharing The tool is useful because there is no other way to see the current shorex offerings for a particular sailing unless you book the cruise first. Where's the fun in that? On the off chance that you can't get it to work for you, just ask for help on this thread. We would need to know the specific cruises you are interested in.
