  1. I saw part of a P&O ship cruise past Kirribilli this afternoon. Was that the Explorer? It was cruising towards the Harbour Bridge.
  2. It is rare to have hurricanes so far north often. We diverted to Boston because of a cyclone at Bermuda. Corner Brook and Saguenay are both protected. Sydney and Halifax aren't if hurricane is still in the vicinity. You will love Eastern Canada which has so much to offer. You can include Greenland and Labrador as well as Newfoundland.
  3. JFK Library is worth a day! Boston a few days as is Montreal. What a lovely to trip to plan for.
  4. Sounds a good cruise with bonus time in great ports at Boston and Montreal. We went up to Saguenay on our cruise which was a scenic trip.
  5. That wouldn't be any good for me as I don't answer phone calls. However if she gets you cabins you want she must be on the ball.
  6. I have been on a day trip there via ship We visited an interesting fortress there. (smile) I don't recall place names as much if we don't drive !
  7. I didn't hear of that tropical storm Fiona, All papers were full of Cuba Cyclone heading towards Florida. I've driven around Cape Breton and have a lot of Cape Breton music. I knew of Sydney because of our Sydney. Ive also been to Halifax on a ship. Maybe I do know Louisburg - I'll check on a map
  8. Knowing you are a cruiser, I've been meaning to tell you about CTMA Vacancies, a fabulous small French ship which sails from Montreal to the Magdalen Islands and return. We went in 2011. It has thee themes - Food, Theatre/Art and Exercise like bikes. We took food for obvious reasons because we didn't need French. They had really good Arcadian or French entertainment every night. I absolutely loved it - great food at ports, beautiful scenery and wonderful entertainment.
  9. Where is Louisburg? Sorry to hear your wife's brother's house got damaged. Florida has just received very bad damage from surges and hurricane Ian. I'll never forget the roar of a cyclone! I haven't heard from my friend who lives on the west coast of Florida. I know they lost power. The hurricane has turned into a bad storm in a few northern. I know Victoria has the mildest climate in Canada. I wonder if any cruise ships were near Florida, Cuba and Puerto Rico? I know they move out of harm's way .I ended up in Boston on a cruise once in lieu of Bermuda. Never did get there!~
  10. Sounds wonderful, Breakfast is my favourite meal so our family always goes out at all the resort hotels for breakfast. I still smile when I think of my younger daughter taking all the passionfruit which were decoration!
  11. That doesn't sound fair and reasonable to me.
  12. You wouldn't make a profit on that as you are too generous.
  13. We don't get autumn leaves either, but we don't have cold winters either. I love the beautiful fall folliage in the East Canada/USA. Yes steep terrain is very hard to fight. When we were looking at houses on hills (my favourite) I always made sure there were two exits. Is your autumn weather similar to the East?
  14. I'm sure you could do a good backed beans on toast!
  15. Not for this nervous nelly, However I did fly with a young pilot in SA once. They provided a small helicopter tour on my last cruise. He had to fly back to Horn Island to refuel before competing flights. I had a great time talking to the Manager and Bar Man.
  16. Yes, he is a pilot. However, she made him stop flying whole family together After they did that, Kate and son went by train whilst others flew.
  17. I guess you need to Princess you want a change of Holiday Planner so you can make a new booking. I used to have a planner for a US TA who worked from him. He was brilliant. It really makes a different. I also had an agent for a big TA who got promoted to HO. Never find such a skilled one! I like them to know more than I know
  18. I would consider myself well read, however I've never heard of those restrictions. Do they come up on the internet screen when people actually make their bookings?
  19. Surely they would do good business on long weekend. Workers who give up their long weekend deserve their penalty rates.
  20. Are your bushfires finished for the season (with little rain). Do you have autumn colours?
