  1. @GeorgiaPeach51 I’m just getting caught up on this thread and loving it! We board the Splendor in January, first time on Regent and we’re really looking forward to it.
  2. Do the Dawn and Moon have a bar in Silver Note like the Muse does? It was a great layout on the Muse. Looks like it does but wanted to check.
  3. Thanks all! Very helpful info. We’re lucky to get this Blue Chip offer and lucky to be able to go!
  4. I am one of the lucky ones to get an offer from the Blue Chip Club for a free cruise. Well, free except port taxes, getting there and back, etc. I wanted to make sure my Captain’s a club benefits, like the Happy Hour adult beverages, free bag of laundry, etc. are still in force on board even though the cruise was comped by the Blue Chip offer. Thanks!
  5. @snorkle lover Miami is quite laid back. Your husband will not need a jacket and tie. Of course, he can wear either or both of he wants to. Google Maps shows the walk to be 12 minutes, 0.6 miles. It’s a safe area.
  6. Can an internet package be shared? If I sign up for one device, can I log off then let my wife log in on another device? Thanks in advance.
  7. @bobolz Timing the peak of foliage is tough, especially a few months out. Many variables such as a wet or dry summer, warm or cool summer. Also we’ve had some years with great foliage almost at peak, then a big storm cones through and blows many leaves off. Big difference between timing in Quebec vs Boston too. Along the New England coast, probably second or third week of October is your best bet.
  8. @crusinbanjo We saw the USS Eisenhower aircraft carrier while cruising into Halifax in 2017.
  9. Hi @Lois R! Sorry you’re not stopping in Portland! Hope you’re having a nice cruise! And I’m glad you got your 100 days recognition too.
  10. Good question. Looks like they actually close for the winter. But I imagine he can do a lot to get up to speed before the doors re-open in the spring.
  11. He is now the VP of Guest Experiences at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan. I just Googled him. Sorry to see him go. We’ve been on 4 SS cruises, 3 with Jimmy.
  12. Oh, I thought he’d left SS. I last saw him as HD on the Whisper.
  13. Nothing more I can do for you. Hope it works out.
  14. If you see Lois again, tell her Carl and Ellie said hi! We’ll wave as you go past us from Bar Harbor to Boston.
  15. I’m also in the P2P Needs a Compete Overhaul camp. The terms are overly onerous and one-sided. Alternatively, I don’t live in a Blacklane area and more than 50 miles from a gateway airport so it’s useless. I’d rather book my own air and get the miles or use miles. I’ll offer a trade where SS can keep the all-included excursions if they make the other changes, basically go back to the days when there was no P2P vs D2D distinction.
  16. It’s frustrating but stuff happens. Relax and try again tomorrow. If you can’t reserve then nobody else can either so you won’t miss out by being last.
  17. We’ve were very happy with our AMA cruise in the Before Times. We have a long cruise booked with them next spring. It’s not all-inclusive; tips are extra and while beer and wine are included at dinner and lunch, cocktails are not. Shore excursions were vary good and they took great care of us from airport to airport. Meals were very good to excellent. Cabins were small but well-load out. Some cabins are bigger than others.
  18. @0106 thanks, I couldn’t find that link!
  19. @CruiserBruce thanks for that link, I couldn’t find that info!
  20. We’re looking at possibly booking our first HAL cruise next year, for an Alaskan cruise. What are the perks you get with a Pinnacle or Neptune Suite? Looks like a special lounge, a concierge to run interference for you, bigger room. Are drinks included, and WiFi? More speciality dining? Thanks in advance!
  21. I would be very disappointed in Indochine wasn’t open but also disappointed if it was open but so thinly staffed that it wasn’t the Indochine experience. If they can’t staff everything up to standards, then best to close something and Indochine has often been reported to be the “odd man out” so to speak in terms of usage by passengers and thus the obvious choice to close. It stinks, but I think that’s the issue. Is that poor management? Maybe, or maybe making the tough call. But staffing needs to get up to fully-staffed soon, and maybe that’s the lack of management action.
  22. We[de fans of AMA Waterways. Service was superb on the Rhône and food was very good-excellent. But I can’t compare to others mentioned here. We did one on Crystal that was excellent too, but…. I recommend searching some YouTube videos too. You can find videos that highlight the ships’ decor, food, itinerary, etc. and perhaps find a “vibe” that appeals. There are many videos to pick from.
  23. ‘Good question! I’m curious about that too.
