  1. Mentioned the legs as that’s always an issue. I still book coach for domestic flights but have to have business overseas now.
  2. How true and that sentiment goes both ways.
  3. I flew Icelandair once in coach with no issue, but at 5"1", my legs don't take the space yours do! 😉 Patty
  4. The owners, Genting, went into bankruptcy. Crystal was just part of the bankrupt enterprise. Actually Crystal itself went into something other than bankruptcy, but for most it's just semantics. The new owners (A&K) bought the 2 ocean ships, the name and the guest list. Other Crystal assets were sold to others. There are those here who will take every chance to bad mouth "Crystal", not accepting that the people running the old Crystal were under the thumb of Genting and couldn't have done a thing about what happened. They will show up to dispute what I have written in one...two...three🤪 Patty P.S. Yes, I am aware this has nothing to do with laundry!
  5. So, you are IAH, the specific airport for Houston is very important. If you were at HOU I'd say 11:38 would be OK about 95% of the time. IAH is almost 70 miles from Galveston. If it all works getting off the ship, getting your transportation, getting to IAH, all the stuff required these days at an airport, then maybe it would work. If it doesn't work, will Jet Blue put you on another flight on another airline to the New York City area at no charge? I wouldn't take the chance, but since over 80% of the flights out of IAH are United, I use them all the time.
  6. Weather and seas, you pay your money and you take your chances. I did a New York to Iceland in May with calm seas. Would be prepared for whatever if doing it again.
  7. You are aware that on the included excursions, it's just one per day included. If you did an included one in the afternoon, you would be charged.
  8. They said Sat. Must be HOU as there are any number of nonstops to NYC throughout the day from IAH.
  9. Not unless the bedside mats (nicely starched) are included! 🤣
  10. Are you going to be there the first 2 weeks of the month or after that? Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) is Feb. 13th next year. Everything will be crowded and expensive before then. Hope you are going to be there after the 14th!!
  11. I don't give a rodent's patootie about what anyone else thinks about laundry rooms. The only opinion that counts is my own.
  12. Shouldn't that be, "I don't care"? Obviously Muriel cares as she asked the question.
  13. You have stated your "facts" innumerable times. All are aware. I do not care how you choose to spend your money, as I don't as to anyone else who posts here. Just find it humorous that you insist on beating a dead horse.
  14. Yes, we are all quite aware that you MUST be in a large suite with butler service.
  15. Certainly better than Silversea with one stack machine in a small walk-in closet!
  16. When they went all inclusive they raised the prices (fare per day/cabin category). There ain't no free lunch!
  17. Let's hope the future will be as good if not better than the good, old days of Crystal! Patty
  18. Symphony will have 4 CPs. Check the new deck plan!! Patty
  19. Don't know your age but I'm going to assume based on your question that you are an "old fogey". Us oldies don't get how the youngsters are into "social media". As has been stated numerous times, Crystal can't rely on their prior guests, they have to attract "new blood". So, they have to go where that blood hangs out! 😉 Patty
  20. They do use Air Canada as they have me on Air Canada to Montreal from Lisbon at the end of an Oct. Nova cruise. There are no nonstops Lisbon to Houston so the Air Canada is as good as any flights. Since Houston is a United hub, being on a Star Alliance line will allow me to get useful miles.
  21. FYI, I do not care what they name any venue on the ships. Will probably have difficulty with the Italian restaurant, but as long as they still serve the carpaccio and the mushroom soup made with the old recipes, it's fine by me. I do not think more or less of anyone based on their vehicle. I drive a 2016 Toyota Camry, so it's fine by me if you choose to ignore what I say based on that. Patty
  22. Very few places in Alaska have local sales taxes. I think I remember that Juneau does. There's still big money coming into the state's coffers from the North Slope oil.
  23. That would be very disappointing if there's no fridge (even tho it never kept things as cool as a real fridge). Haven't been on a cruise ship of any level since the old Holland Americas around 2007-2008 that didn't have a cabin fridge. I looked and none of the cabins have a fridge listed so maybe there will be ones.
  24. Hadn't even thought about that. Good question! Patty
  25. There are drawers at the desk/vanity next to the door. It's still a big reduction from old Crystal. It will work for me as a solo traveler, but storage is an issue for a couple. Patty P.S. Muriel, we were posting at the same time.
