  1. There is at least one with seafood, it isn’t free. EM
  2. It’s been nearly 10 months since I sailed Seaside, so dailies would be no help. The wonderful thing about her is she has two buffets. On deck 16 is a smaller buffet that is only open for breakfast and lunch. That means it’s less crowded…and when I was on they had wonderful sticky buns. On Seashore they were not nearly as good. Aurea dines in the Seashore restaurant on deck 5 aft. There is a separate smaller entrance to the left, those with fixed dining use the central main entrance. The deck 16 buffet also has late night snacks 10pm -1 am. my cruise was a 4+3 so not as many shows as on a 7 day. They may have the same ones I saw because it costs a whole lot to create and stage a new show. Anyway, first night was Peter Punk, a sort of takeoff on Peter Pan. I think the dinosaur stole the show. There was a comedian, and Moondance, a tribute to Michael Buble. And Starwalker, Michael Jackson tribute. We saw Starwalker in 2019. My favorite hangout was the Sports Bar. As of last August they hadn’t filled it up with slot machines. Anyway, that’s my report. I did a Live from which has probably sunk to about page 20. EM
  3. There are lots of suggestions on the Florida Departures board, under North American Homeports. EM
  4. A whole lot of longtime members have never noticed it. One problem here is Seascape and Virtuosa are missing…and long departed Melody remains. EM
  5. There is a thread about halfway down the second page asking the same question. It was started in 2020 but there are very recent replies. EM
  6. There is a thread on the top of page 3: Covid refund check from 2021. EM
  7. Ay e too elementary, but if you are having trouble figuring out how to logout, click on profile at bottom right. Then at the top right, click on the tool wheel and you will get the option to logout. EM
  8. I have two cruises booked. When I sign in, I enter my booking number and can access my reservation. In order to access the second cruise, I must logout from the app, then go back in with second booking number. EM
  9. You will sleep onboard, and be out of your cabin the same time as in any other debarkation port. You can take a Princess transfer with excursion to Anchorage which will drop you at the airport, or perhaps in town to do more sightseeing. Whittier is very small and transfer opportunities very limited. And there is the tunnel, one way each half hour. You can get more info on the Alaska board here, under Ports of Call. Welcome to Cruise Critic. EM
  10. Sounds like a cut and paste from a partial transit excursion list. Chances are they will bus you to Gamboa where you get the ferry, and then bus back from Miraflores locks to Colon. EM
  11. I e never had a package. I usually buy the boarding photo and any others that are flattering, which gets less and less as I age. Last year on either Seaside or Seashore I had some taken, and I could never find them. To locate pics you had to dig through boxes and boxes of everyone’s pics. I gave up. EM
  12. I think it’s a personal choice. For years I stapled them on, it for the last ten years or so have used the tag holders pictured. EM
  13. Too many people sailing in YC. Most are on other ships. I posted three day menus in my Live from back in Dec. But menus change. I will be on Seashore June 23, but on a 7 day. EM
  14. It’s only four nights. Think of it as camping. Or maybe glamping, as it’s on a cruise ship. EM
  15. Yes. No travel irons, but hair appliances are, much as cruise lines would like to ban them. EM
  16. On our second cruise on Divina, we hadn’t left port before we could see/smell our balcony neighbor smoking on the balcony. We immediately called guest services. They came right up, and it never happened again. EM
  17. From the few pictures I could find on cruisedeckplans, it looked like you will have a bunksofa. Did not see any marks in the ceiling that indicate Pullman uppers. You can ask your steward to make it back into a couch during the day. The main challenge would be storage and the tiny bathroom. The advantage of the aft cabin would be a large balcony, slightly larger bathroom because it has a tub/shower, and My Time dining. EM
  18. Unless you are a dedicated bottled water drinker, you can bring a refillable bottle and fill with water, iced tea, lemonade, some kind of punch all day in the buffet. Wide mouth bottles allow you to add ice. I’m not much of a drinker either, maybe a drink or two, a couple diet cokes, which are very expensive. I fill my cup with iced tea, sweetener, and a shot of lemonade. If they are out of lemonade I get a wedge of lime from the bar in the buffet. I will be boarding Seashore on the 23rd, doing a Live from thread, so when that is started you can ask me questions there. EM
  19. Best, or better depends on what your wants/needs for a cruise are. If you are traveling with children, the newer, larger ships with lots of kid friendly attractions might be what you want. But if you are a little old lady like me, you might not want a huge ship where you need a Segway to get from your cabin to the MDR. My Fitbit likes all those steps, though. You need to think about what your vacation style is and choose accordingly. Another feature to keep in mind…technology. The newer ships have a lot of features that depend on a cellphone for best utilization. An intranet app that opens your cabin door, shows you menus and activities. If you are not comfortable with this, maybe an older ship would suit you better. EM
  20. My experience has been unless I add them when booking, I can’t add them online later. The option just isn’t there. But I believe you can call to add them. EM
  21. Unless she got a fare that was less than the usual 100% single supplement, it should only be the taxes and fees. EM
  22. The problem is no matter that she has accepted her previous situation was a scam, they told me there is no charge as she voluntarily gave him the money. At first it was he would come to meet her if she sent xxxx money, she would get it back. Then there were circumstances that kept him from coming and he needed more money. This one is starting the same way. She is saying the employer, Hallmark, will not allow them to actually talk to each other. And that the ‘card’ is part of the Hallmark requirements. She is not scamming me, I’m too smart. No cash from me. EM
  23. He may be flying into FLL but will have to make his way to Miami to board Magic. EM
  24. At the top of the Carnival board page are a bunch of ovals. Below them are See posts about…and then Select Ship. Clicking on Select ship, you get a dropdown menu of the ships. Click on Magic and you will get a list of threads about her. EM
  25. It is the same as every cruise line sailing Alaska from Seattle. You will sail west of Vancouver Island, but you won’t be close enough to really see much. Until you get into the northern Inside Passage land will be starboard, once in the passage sights will be both sides. When you are glacier viewing the ship will rotate every 30 min. or so so that everyone who isn’t out on the promenade moving around can get a view. But remember, what goes up must come down…so views that were starboard going up will be port coming back. EM
