  1. I still don't understand why anyone does a "book later" certificate. Just book a "named" sailing as far out in the future as you can with a refundable deposit. Then when you decide on an actual sailing just move the reservation to that ship/sail date. At that time you can even choose to change it to the NRD rate. If you decide not to cruise you can cancel and get the deposit refunded without the 1 year limit.
  2. I think they request that you do it at least 3 weeks prior to the sailing. I've done it well over a year in advance.
  3. Someone messed up. Since you booked suites with your "Book Later Certificate" (technically a FCC is something very different on Celebrity) they TA was supposed to collect the additional deposit of 10%. There is no "reduced deposit" for suites on Celebrity. Even if you used those for a non-suite booking and you named the second passenger I believe you were supposed to pay another $100 deposit. Consider yourself lucky.
  4. This scenario would not result in open cabins in lower level categories. Yes this is exactly what I was talking about.
  5. Agree with Jim. If Celebrity does anything it's a very nice good will gesture.
  6. I wonder if they had sold a bunch of GTY and when the ship actually sold out assigned the GTY's
  7. If you have never read it here before the menus on the app are totally incorrect until just about the time you board the ship.
  8. Personally I would cancel the Premier Access. Priority embarkation for suites is better. I would arrive between 10:30 and 11. If you are at terminal 25 go to the far left doors for Retreat. You will be taken upstairs to the suite embarkation lounge to be checked in and will be escorted to the ship as soon as it's cleared for boarding. Luminae will be open for lunch around 11:30 or 12. Suites have reserved seating in the theater on Chic nights, really no big deal, not the best seats in the house. I've never seen the need for reserved seating in the theater on Celebrity. Just arrive about 10 minutes before showtime
  9. And if confiscated I believe they would be returned to you at disembarkation.
  10. But those are just 2 of many cabins in that class. In the past most of these cabins were in the S1 category as they were considered to have specific features or locations better than the other Sky Suites which used to be S2. To me the upgrade would be worth no more than maybe $20-$30 pp/pd.
  11. Poster was referring to this link to the deals where the format has changed to be much harder to read. https://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Celebrity/Exciting_Deals/CEL_Exciting_Deals.pdf
  12. Been that way since Nov 2021. Were told they were broken but really every last one?
  13. Only if you are charged I hope. There have been no accounts of anyone being charged the 5%. Some lines don't allow OBC to be used to pay gratuities. I'm glad Celebrity does.
  14. I know there is a 5% charge if you don't have OBC and the charge is going to your credit card but I've never seen the charge applied to OBC.
  15. Are they no longer making it onboard? Cheaper ingredients?
  16. Just a point of information. If your depending on Credit Card coverage for your rental some credit cards don't cover Turo. I know Chase Sapphire cards don't.
  17. Yes, just visit Guest Relations to get the form and instructions.
  18. Equinox deck plan from US Celebrity site. All aft facing suites are Sunset Sky Suites. In the past the corners were S1 and the others S2. This way they get more revenue for all aft suites.
  19. Celebrity seems to be serving all beef in a pool of gravy now. They used to have nice reduction sauces but now seems to be brown gravy mix. Since this was Tuscan it may have been a bit better but I have learned to order no sauce or sauce on the side.
  20. Based on the list published above I would say no. Looks like the staterooms are getting some general maintenance only. Only mention of shower doors is to re-silicone them as there are shower doors in the upper suites. The sunset suites are a joke. That is not a suite bathroom! 1 sink, small shower, no tub and still the same small space. Especially since they generally price them somewhere between a CS and RS.
  21. View from a falls view room at Gran Meliá Iguazú. The favorable exchange rate makes it more affordable than first glance. Another from the ground floor restaurant Guide got us to Brazil side before others arrived. Had the whole walkway to ourselves. 1 hr later it was wall to wall.
  22. We also did this tour using Tours by Locals guide and making our own flight arrangements. Our guide was Francis Almeida Barros. I highly recommend staying in the park at the Gran Meliá Iguazú. Of course you have to visit the Brazil side as well as I think those are the better overall views.
  23. Nothing new here. It's been a program for almost 20 years. Yes in some years it was pretty useless as it wasn't combineable with the perk programs. Since June 2019 they have removed that limitation. I've probably received 2-3k in OBC from Shareholder Benefit.
  24. Interesting. We are booked on the Sept 29 sailing and the following repo. The repo is on the website but not the prior sailing. I do wonder what's going on.
