  1. Thanks Graham but the internet on the ship blocks streaming unless you pay dearly for it. So I guess I will not be able to listen to Father David today. I enjoy his sermons very much. Thank you for taking the time to post them each week. Terri
  2. I don’t think you can do that when using an iPad. i tried that and it didn’t work. If there is a way I don’t know how. Thanks for the help. Terri
  3. RomeCabs.com has a variety of tours they offer. Some in proximity to the port. Very reputable company.
  4. Balloons over Kiel tonight. The end of a Water festival week. Good night. Terri
  5. That’s why we remained shod and our butts stayed dry. LOL. Terri
  6. I am so sorry to hear this. My prayers are with you. Thankfully you have your son with you through this difficult time. God bless, Terri
  7. Here are phots of some of the paintings in the Skagen Artists museum. They are quite good. I wanted to buy some prints but left my wallet on the bus. We will be back here next week and I will buy some then. We will have lunch at that time at one of the many wonderful fish restaurants (last photo) where they say that “place” is the best fish to have.
  8. Here are some photos of the buried church where only the tower remains. We were able to go inside the tower but chose not to climb to the top. The church proper has since been removed.
  9. I cannot get a description of another photo after posting a photo. So these are photos of Grenin where the Baltic and North Seas meet at the tip of the Jutland. It was very windy but lots of fun.
  10. I am going to try to post some photos. Hopefully they will work. The Sandworm Trolly drawn by a tractor
  11. Good afternoon to all, I am posting while most are still off the ship and the bandwidth is better. Thank you to Rich for the Daily and Fleet report and to Vanessa for the Cares and Celebration List. Also a big thanks to Debbie, Ann and Dixie for keeping us fed and hydrated. I like the quote, but have not been to the port. Prayers for those who need them and cheers to those celebrating—Sandi, happy birthday to your DD. We ventured out today in Kiel, but there is not much to do here. There is a water festival going on and we went over there for a while, but decided that we would take it easy today. Yesterday we were in Skagen, Denmark. (Pronounced Skane), which is on the very northern tip of the Jutland. We took a ship tour (not my usual thing, but I have to say that this was quite good. Our first stop was to Grenin where we boarded a “Sandworm,” which is a trolly pulled by a tractor. It took us to the northern tip of Denmark where the Baltic and North Seas meet. If one so wishes you may remove your shoes and socks and put one foot in each sea at the same time. Many did this, however, we did not. It was fun watching people enjoying this. Very windy. We then went to St. Nicholas Church, of which only the tower remains. The rest of the church was buried by the moving sands in the area. Again, you could climb the tower but we chose not to. Got to preserve my knees. Lastly, Skagen is known for the artist community of the 18 century that produced many paintings. There is a museum dedicated to them and it was interesting to see their works. It was a good tour. I have photos on my phone. However I had trouble getting to move over to my IPad. Going to work on that now and try to post them. Hope everyone has a good Saturday. God Bless, Terri
  12. We are finding service issues as well. In GDR last night could not get someone to pour our wine. Finally I got up to get it myself. They all came running. Guess they got the message. So far we have not asked much of the Butler but he has been okay. I understand that a lot of new crew has just come on board and it may be just a matter of getting settled and acclimated.
  13. Terminal 28. However, there are two other ships in port. Not sure that would always be the case.
  14. We didn’t get the survey card either. Terri
  15. Yes, I looked her up and that is her name, however she is only using Margaret Lynn on the ship. It seems she is on Regent quite often. Terri
  16. Hi everyone, I have been trying to post most of the day. The internet is abyssal. Today is a sea day so everyone is on the internet and we do not have Starlink on this ship. Posting now while people are at dinner. Just checking in to say hello. Tomorrow we are in Skagen, Denmark. We are doing a ship tour. Something unusual for us. However it hits all the places we want to see and it is easy. Also, we have a ton of shipboard credit and it’s all non refundable so we have to use it some way. I will take pictures but not sure if I will be able to post them. A Happy Birthday to Roy and Good Luck with the Oral Surgeon. May the Tooth Fairy be good to you! @smitty34877 please know that you and your family are in my daily prayers even if I don’t post it every day. Thank you to all who contribute to this thread. I am signing off before I get knocked off. God Bless, Terri
  17. This is what is written in Currents yesterday. ”Margaret hails from South Carolina and is a graduate of Clemson University. Margaret taught 9th grade grammar and literature for several yers after graduation. She left teaching in 1992 to pursue her love of theatre, starring in regional productions of comedies and musicals. Performing at sea called in 1994 and she sang and I danced her way around the world, 132 countries and counting! She was offered the role of Cruise Director in 2014 and while she does move between brands, she always feels at home when with Oceania Cruises. Margaret is honored to return to Oceania to celebrate the 20th anniversary year and she enjoys serving as Director of the Entertainment Department and mentor to the younger performers,. Watch Currents! You may see her on stage to join the band for a song or two.” Hope this helps. Terri
  18. I also boarded the Marina today in Southampton. We have the usual Bulgari Toiletries in our PH suite. We had dinner in Toscana and it was good. There was no muster drill only a message in all the rooms from the CD. So far all is well. Terri
  19. Hello everyone, Just getting a chance to post. All is well. Our trip to Southampton was without incident. I slept most of the way. We were able to get an extra reservation at the Italian Restaurant tonight — Toscana. Very good. All unpacked. Tomorrow is a sea day. Very tired and am going to bed. Thank you for the well wishes. Will read all the posts tomorrow and try to post more. Good night and God Bless, Terri
  20. Well, it was a rainy day in London Town and not a day for the London Eye or a cruise on the Thames River as we had hoped. We did get our wine though. At least we were able to get some rest and get over the jet lag before our cruise. Tomorrow our driver will pick us up at 9 am for the ride to Southampton. It should take about 2 hours or so. Tonight we will get all our stuff packed and ready to go. Thank you to Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann and Dixie for all your contributions to keeping this thread going. I have not been to the port. I remember Jackie Gleason’s quote. Am I dating myself? Since my room is a a Penthouse Suite, I am going to change it to “How Suite it is” for this cruise. We will skip the F&B since we are eating and drinking whatever they are serving in the Lounge tonight. I will try to report each day—hopefully with photos. Hope everyone is having a good day. Prayers for all, especially those on the Cares list. God Bless, Terri
  21. So we went out today. I did some research and found that Majestic Wine is the UK equivalent of Total Wine in the US or close to it. So I looked at a Map and there were two nearby. I asked the Hotel Concierge which would be the better one to go to. He told me there was one even closer in walking distance. So we started out with map in hand. Got there and the place was shut tight. No sign of it ever being a wine store. DH was exhausted and ended up sitting on the steps of a building because he couldn’t walk any more. A very nice man on a motorcycle stopped and asked if we needed help. Every taxi was occupied and we were just not able to walk back. The motorcycle man asked me if i had an UBER account. BINGO! Got an UBER in 2 minutes and we were back at the Hotel. However, we don’t have any wine to bring on the ship. Will have to venture out again tomorrow and go to the Majestic Wine on the website and stay away from the Concierge. So we went out and got our walk. Don’t know how much it helped. DH was really tired after it. I hope we can do this cruise. I was having my doubts. Now I have more. Talk about a dark cloud. Terri
  22. Good Afternoon from London. Happy Juneteenth. Here in the UK it is not a holiday. I thought I would be out and about today but we are both just bone tired. I took a nap yesterday afternoon for 2 1/2 hours and then slept 12 hours last night and I could go back to bed now and sleep some more. We are going to get our wine today and that’s about it. Just trying to get in gear. Tomorrow we will spend the day out and about. Prayers for all. Terri
  23. Thank you all for the good wishes. There was just a knock on our hotel room door and voila! Our two bags arrived. How nice to see them. Other than being a bit wet because it is raining, they are in good shape. What a relief. Happy to be reunited with my clothes. Terri
