Weird question for Apple Watch cruisers
compuryan replied to kuku77254's topic in Royal Caribbean International
All the fresh sea air? No breathing all the carbon dioxide from living in a city or town? -
As of last month, the rigging control system is down and there was a near miss incident while trying to do the show using a workaround. So that is likely what is still causing the shows to be cancelled and that probably won't change until the system is repaired. Edit: I was going to post the TikTok that was made of what happened but it has since been deleted.

https://www.foodnetwork.com/how-to/packages/food-network-essentials/seltzer-vs-sparkling-water Seems in this case the term is being used interchangeably but what the machine says is sparkling water, is actually seltzer by definition.

Boarding time seems to basically mean nothing according to nearly every comment on CC so maybe don't prioritize things based on that.

Live and Solo: B2B on Oasis Feb 4 - 18, a Running report

Exactly! Escalator plus a large area for security screening. Port side has less than half the space. -

Oasis class (and Icon, as far as I can tell) are designed to dock primarily on the starboard side. They will usually try to do so whenever possible. -

RC Ship of the Year, 2023: Vision of the Seas

Interesting. I just saw earlier today that Spectrum was named ship of the year. 🤷♂️ -
Looks like Adventure Ocean moved to JR's location. Spa and gym took over AO space.

That sailing is during a school break in some parts of North America. Can see why they would bump it earlier. Lots of kids = lots of demand for early dining so they might bump the times to get some people to switch to late.

That's specifically the problem. She's so big she's the world's biggest sail. Have heard a captain say something along these lines. -
Captain Bang was my captain on Voyager of the Seas while I was there for two years. Can still hear "This is Captain Bang speaking" from his daily announcements in my head. Was very sorry to hear this news last year.

Even for the cheaper options at the bottom? -
Production shows stick with each ship for years at a time as it's very expensive to change them out. If you want to see different shows but really liked Anthem, try a different ship from the Quantum class.

Sounds like she is home on compassionate leave. It would be highly unusual for a cast member to be needed on another ship. Other crew yes, that is incredibly common. The casts generally stick together, they can't just sub-out with someone on another ship due to the nature of their work.

Should I take a ship's final cruise before a dry dock?
compuryan replied to LAKaye's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Most stay onboard. Many will make minimal money with no tips coming in. Like maybe a quarter of their usual take home pay during the time the drydock is happening. Often crew will be pressed into service doing fire watch, if they don't have anything else to do. They basically watch the contractors who are welding or anything risky like that. -
I believe you are correct but also there are large red alarm horns mounted near the top between every other lifeboat as well as certain other locations on outer decks (see photo below). In addition to internal bells. During drills on the Voyager class ships, you are potentially hearing about 6 different types of noise-making devices during the general alarm. It is absolutely not just the ship's whistle. I had personal hearing protection for drills while working for them. 😅

Change to Sky Junior Suite Benefits

Only Spectrum makes sense with this, being in a separate market. -
Got people happily paying Royal's pandemic debt through, but I agree.

I'm guessing they decided they weren't worth the investment. Those are big expensive panels compared to the typical cabin TV. Also in a prime location to potentially be damaged by little ones (or others) vs. mounted high up on a wall.
