  1. I have no experience with SAS but with other bookings. EZ Air may not actually ticket until you are at or inside the 45 day change window. This has happened to me.
  2. Read the daily activities events and do what you like. I do caution you that a number of "activities" are really sales talks. These are usually the ones by one or more of the shops and the spa. I also avoid the art auctions. Trivia, evening lounge entertainment, game shows are popular. There probably will be Zumba style group exercise each sea day morning. There may also be some pool games on sea days. Of course there are the evening shows in the theater. Arrive about 1/2 hour early for popular guest entertainers and 45 minutes early for production shows.
  3. Boarding usually begins around 10:30/11:00. People start arriving as early as 9:00am, check in and wait. There are no assigned boarding times. You should check in no later than 90 minutes before sailing. Princess is required to provide a passenger manifest to the authorities 1 hour before sailing. The drive from Galveston is around 1 to 1 1/2 hours depending on the airport. Princess will assign you a disembarkation time. You can also request any time you like to disembark from early walk off, where you wheel all your own luggage, which begins around 7am until around 9:30am by visiting passenger services.
  4. You must get an itinerary deviation from Princess. Which ports on which itinerary could matter. Sometimes ships miss ports, usually weather related. I've been on many cruises where this has happened.
  5. It's also $30/day if you book the entire cruise. If you are going on a Panama Canal cruise I'm not certain how they handle that day if you book the entire cruise. My guess, and only a guess, is that there is an extra charge.
  6. The Wheelhouse is a lounge built for dancing and live music. Crooner's is built for a piano player/singer. These are not soft background music venues. They are very popular locations. So, people enjoy the live music. I also enjoy lively music. The Sky is a Royal Class ship where Princess foolishly decided to remove Crooner's. There are very few options other than the Piazza. Royal Class ships really have no dance venues. It's the Piazza. Background music is nice at times, but really not entertaining. There are times when just a piano player plays background music.
  7. You can book on board. If you do you receive the same $100 deposit and related OBC as if you purchased the Future Cruise Deposits (FCDs) for use when you get back home. You can also assign the booking to your travel agent. There may be some special on board offers for certain cruises, but normally the promos on board are the same as the ones that are available at home. In addition TAs often have additional OBC or other benefits. My preference is to purchase the fully refundable FCDs. Once home you can research and review all the options and book using the FCDs. Using this method you can make decisions when you are not under a cruise high and not pressured by the on board sales person. The on board sales person is a contractor, not a Princess employee.
  8. When sailing to Alaska you do go through U.S. immigration on boarding.
  9. Cans or bottles and on tap if they have it. Very little draft beer on board if any at all.
  10. Interesting that traditional dining is returning. Maybe Princess got the message that many people enjoy this. Will it return to the rest of the fleet?
  11. It should happen immediately. When you cancel the FCDs are returned to Princess accounts. Assumes the deposit us refundable. The T.A. will handle.
  12. Go into Dine My Way (DMW) and book a DR and time. You can always change or just show up. There is no actual experience on the Sun Princess as to how well and smooth the DMW system is working.
  13. Do you have a stand alone beverage package, or as most have the plus/premier fare which includes the beverage package? Room service is included with the plus/premier fares. You can order beer(s) delivered to your cabin. Buckets of beer are not included with the package, but you can easily order multiple cans or bottles. One caution. On boarding day room service may be very busy and your beers may not get to you promptly. Would recommend you just pick up a few beers and carry them back to your cabin.
  14. It is about 1 1/2 hour drive from Whitter to Anchorage airport.
  15. Refundable or non refundable will be shown on each person's on board account statement.
  16. This is a work around. My position is that Princess is being unethical forcing you to sign up and provide financial information for a service that you may not want. This needs to be optional. I believe at some time it could backfire on them from both their customers, the shops and maybe even the authorities.
  17. My cruises were booked well after Dec 14, 2022. They were booked in 2023 and 4 of them in October 2023. I checked the app. It's not there. Maybe it's because I have not loaded the new app. I can't work my phone very well. I make lots of errors, by touching the screen by accident. I am a little hesitant to download the new app before my February 2024 cruise. I might touch something and delete or add something unintended. I'll let Princess download the new app once on board. My header does not say Luggage tags and Documents. There are separate headers for luggage tags and travel summary. Thank you everyone.
  18. Yes, turn around days are indeed more chaotic. But I ask, why do you believe a single 14 day booking would be less chaotic than two 7 day bookings? What hassles disappear with a 14 day booking? Really none. Refer to my previous post regarding Whitter turn arounds. If you are thinking about turn around days at other US ports, those booking with a single booking number and those with separate booking numbers are required to proceed through the same immigration procedures. How booked makes absolutely no difference.
  19. If you are sailing RT Vancouver either as a single booking or two bookings there is no immigration/customs in Whitter. You will clear U.S. immigration upon boarding in Vancouver. Your medallion will be good for the entire time on board. If you are in the same cabin your cabin will be serviced just like any other port day. No packing, no forced disembarkation. If you have to change cabins the process is easy. You will receive instructions and the cabin steward will co-ordinate the move. There are lots of threads on cabin moves. Some passengers will be disembarking in Whitter which can cause some congestion. Not certain if you are provided an intransit card.
  20. The door is on the bottom (aft) left hand corner. You can find the door locations on the Princess App. Are you sure you wish to be directly adjacent to the laundry?
  21. Two booking numbers normally provide you with: *More flexibility should prices change. *Additional benefits for the plus/premier fares. As of now they are by booking number. *Probably more cabin selections. There usually are more cabin selections for the 7 day bookings. *There may be additional OBC for separate bookings. You have to check it out. * Over the years I have been booking these types of cruises as separate booking numbers. *Either way your on board accounts will carry over. Any amounts owning will be charged to your credit card on disembarkation. *No matter how you decide you really need to do the math.
  22. I have 6 cruises booked with the plus fare. The next two are b2b starting the end of February 2024. When reviewing the travel summary there is no mention of the three "new" benefits, Ocean Now Delivery, Room Service by telephone and 2 casual meals. It's this way on all 6 of my bookings. I contacted the T.A. She checked with Princess. The Princess agent indicated that indeed these benefits were part of my fare, but could not explain why they don't show up on the travel summary. She has some higher level Princess person working on it. Anyone else have this issue?
  23. You are not the first to experience this. Princess needs to get its act in order. Specialty dining should be just that special service, special meal. Anything short is not acceptable.
  24. Don't assume this is a lower 48 US port. It could be different at other ports. For example embark or disembark could be Vancouver or Whitter. If Whitter it's a long drive to the airport. Poster needs to provide additional information.
