  1. No cash. Only the medallion is accepted. If you have the plus or premier fare then your beverage package will be valid for beverages ordered on Princess Cays. If you leave the Princess compound then you use cash.
  2. High calorie. Extravagant. Certainly not something that you would use to determine if you should book the plus or premium fare. It may include gelato if you are on a Royal Class ship. Disregard this benefit. Do the math based upon the most important benefits, Crew Appreciation, unlimited wifi and the beverage package. All the rest are just add ons that have little extra value. It takes about 3 alcoholic beverages/pp/day to break even with the plus fare.
  3. I have done this cruise with a very similar itinerary and have also visited many of these ports on a transpacific from Sydney to L.A. There are interesting ports. But some like Moorea don't have a lot there. We took a ship's tour around Moorea. Some of the other islands are similar. The roll call will most likely be putting tours together. Be prepared for lots of sea days, there are 22 of them. There will be a crossing the equator event. If you wish to be one of the participants that do stuff like kiss a fish, get slimed with pudding. and other things see the CD right away at the start of the cruise and ask to be placed on the list. Otherwise you can just watch. Bring lots of sun screen. The sun is very strong at and south of the equator. At this time of year it will be directly overhead halfway between the equator and the Tropic of Capricorn. While Pacific tends to mean calm waters it can get rockin' & rollin' . Start planning. My experience is that it takes lots.
  4. I would select aft cabins, cat BD on deck 11 or 10. These are great cabins and I frequently stay in them. I have found over the years that there is no excessive movement being further aft if that is your concern. In fact I'm booked into one on the Ruby in two weeks. The deck 10 cabins have 9ft x 9ft balconies half covered. Deck 11 cabins have 9ft x 5ft covered balconies. Some of these cabins are connecting with interior connecting doors. You can find which cabins are connected by going to the deck plans on the Princess web site and checking the connecting cabin box.
  5. The Diamond Princess has two casual dining venues. Kai Sushi and Alfredo's Pizza a pop up venue.
  6. Bring hard copy paperwork with you printed from the Princess site which shows you have the plus fare.
  7. Terrible design. Whoever approved the purchase of these should be demoted or dismissed.
  8. "4 hours AFTER we are scheduled to disembark the ship" I think you mean after arrival of the ship. Princess' guideline is 4 1/2 hours after arrival of the ship. Princess allows for all kinds of stuff such as the slow time it takes when you use a Princess transfer. The program sees 4 hours as less than the guideline. You know you can make it to the airport in time so don't worry about it. Just remember to get a disembarkation time that is suitable for you. You may wish to choose early walk off. From the Princess web site Disembarking Passengers For voyages that arrive in Vancouver, the earliest flight departure is 4 hours and 30 minutes after ship's arrival.
  9. Shoreside needs to be optional. There seems to be something very intrusive and perhaps borderline not legal about requiring credit card information for a 3rd party company in order to purchase a vacation from Princess cruises. Perhaps reporting to the proper CA gov't department would be in order.
  10. "Uploaded redacted copy of most recent monthly investment account statement." Here's my question. How do you actually do this? Where do you find a redacted copy to upload? When I have used the email method I go through the following steps Print out a paper copy of the page with the Carnival stock Use a felt tip pen to redact Scan the redacted page Attach the scanned copy to the email which contains all the other required information. I have very limited knowledge on how to use apps. I mainly use my phone for some calls and texts to my children. Don't carry it around most of the time. I am not happy about the forced use of a cell phone.
  11. What cabins? The cabin steward can open balcony dividers on request. With some adjacent cabins the dividers can not be opened. These are usually the dividers between different fire zones. You can determine the fire zones by the cabin's first number. A541 and A601 are adjacent but in different fire zones.
  12. This is what the terms state, but it has been reported recently that cans are now included.
  13. "What are the specialty restaurants as we are given two free bookings." You don't actually mention it in your posting, but I have interpreted that you indeed have the plus fare since you mention alcoholic beverages up to $15. Specialty restaurants are not included with the plus fare. Two specialty restaurant meals are included with the premier fare. If you have the plus fare then you will have to pay for specialty restaurant dining. Specialty restaurants available on the Island Princess are the Bayou Cafe & Steakhouse @ $39/pp and Sabatini's Italian Trattoria @ $35/pp. Make reservations in the app. There is a charge when booking. Included with the plus fare are two casual dining meals. The Island Princess has no dedicated casual dining restaurants. The Island has Alfredo's and the Salty Dog. These are both pop up. There are no pre-cruise reservations for them.
  14. Some answers. The plus fare includes the beverage package. This includes unlimited non alcoholic beverages such as sodas, specialty coffees, standard juices after breakfast hours, bottled water and so on. Ice tea, lemonade, standard coffee, hot teas are no charge for all. Juice bar is specialty blended juices, not standard breakfast juices. The package includes up to 15 alcoholic beverages/pp/day menu priced at $15 or less which is around 90% of all drinks on board. Some wines and other special spirits are more. If you purchase an alcoholic beverage in excess of $15 you are charged the difference + 18%. The package does not include bottled wines. There is a discount if you so order. If you are Ocean Ready then you are green lane and the medallion will be mailed to you about 2 weeks prior to boarding. If you are not Ocean Ready then you can pick up the medallion at the pier. You become Ocean Ready by completing all the pre-boarding information on the Princess App or on the PC web version. Yes for the laundry, mini bar. It could take up to 3 days to get your laundry returned unless you are in a full suite. I would guess a fitness class might include something like spinning. I've never done this. You can search for photos of premium desserts. From what I have seen they have limited value. A 10 year old may enjoy them.
  15. Let's see if I can provide some information regarding your concerns. CAN$2268 is equal to the cost of the plus fare of US$60/pp/day for the 14 days. Don't pay any attention to the percentage savings advertised. Those percentages are based upon per person, per day if one purchased all the components separately. No one in the know ever does that. There is no current discount on the plus fare. It's US$60 today as it has been since I believe December 2022. The drink package is just one of the 9 components of the plus fare. The three most important are unlimited wifi internet 1 device per person, crew appreciation, the daily gratuity for most of the crew you interact with, and the plus beverage package. The beverage package includes unlimited non alcoholic beverages and up to 15 alcoholic beverages/pp/day menu priced US$15 or less. This is around 90% of all alcoholic beverages. There are some wines that are priced above $15 and some special spirits. If you purchase a drink above US$15 you will be charged the difference + 18%. A $20 drink will cost you $5.90. The package does not cover wines by the bottle, but there is a discount if you choose to purchase a bottle of wine. You are permitted to carry on 1 x 750ml bottle of wine/pp at no charge for use in your cabin if you so choose to do so. I assume that you and your sister are travelling together in the same cabin and are passengers #1 and #2 in that cabin. The plus fare requires that passengers 1 & 2 in the cabin have the same fare. You probably have a single booking number for the both of you. If you purchase the fare pre-cruise it's a single charge. Your sister would have to privately reimburse you for her portion of the fare. It has nothing to do with the plus fare being a package. You can wait until you are on board. There will be crew right there available to upgrade your booking to the plus fare. In that case believe you will be able to have you and your sister's cost applied separately to your individual on board accounts. The costs will net against any OBC already in the accounts. You cruise is actually two 7 day voyages linked logically together as a single booking number. If you purchase the plus fare on board make certain all 14 days are covered and the person handling the purchase does not sell you a 7 day package. Coke and other sodas. It has been reported that cans of soda are now included in the plus beverage package. You can easily get some unopened cans from any bar and store them in your cabin. If you can not get the cans (unlikely) then you can purchase some at any port and carry them on board or you can carry some on board at initial embarkation. Here is what is included in the plus fare package: Wi-Fi (1 device per guest), Crew appreciation, Plus Beverage Package, Unlimited juice bar, Premium desserts (2 per day), Fitness classes (2 per cruise), 2 casual dining meals per guest ($14.99 without the fare, Alfredo’s is really good), OceanNow® delivery (one time $14.99 without the fare), Room service delivery ($5 per telephone call without the fare). Hope this helps.
  16. This would be very intrusive if they used programs to track your movements and then try to sell you stuff according to where you spend most of your time. Worst if they sell the information to 3rd parties. On the + side on those cumbersome turn around days at U.S. ports Princess should be able to locate those missing passengers that did not read the instructions.
  17. May I ask, why don't you want a medallion? They are really just the same as the old key card in a smaller package with a few extra features. They are easy to carry with no downside. As you approach your cabin the door latch unlocks, making it easy to enter the room especially when your hands are full. If you have friends on board you can locate them very easy by going to one of the screens around the ship. Just like the old cruise card the medallion only has a code that identifies you. No personal information is stored on the medallion. I suggest you use it. If after a few days you find something you don't like, I don't think you will, then go to passenger services. My comment is provided as a person that really does not embrace or very much use app technology.
  18. As posted in post #3 the below New York port site has pier assignments for the entire 2024 year. Search for your date. It speaks poorly about Princess' competence that they can't inform their customers where their ships will dock in NYC. The two locations that they mention are very far from each other and require very different logistics from their customers. Princess has been using Brooklyn for at least 15 years. They need to correct their itineraries. https://nycruise.com/brooklyn-terminal/schedule-bct/
  19. jagoffee. Princess offered at least 3 Circle the Caribbean voyages this season, maybe even 4 plus a couple of repositioning between NYC and DLL. The March 9th one on the Ruby is the last one this season. There is a review here on CC of a previous Circle the Caribbean also on the Ruby. Might have been in January. There was a sailing in the fall on 2023. I see 6 14 day single voyages scheduled for the 24/25 season. Two are repositioning From NYC to FLL in November and the reverse in April. The other 3 are RT Ft. Lauderdale with2 in December and one in January.
  20. Are you certain it was the Enchanted? The Enchanted's first sailed was Nov 2021. I have Enchanted deck plans from April 2022 and they show cabins on both sides of the Retreat Pool. The Sky from December 2019 also has these same cabins. The last Royal Class ship without the cabins was the Regal. The Majestic as the Hollywood Pool Club in this area which is an enclosed pool.
  21. Pilot. It is very simple. Princess offers "logical" bookings in the Caribbean and other locations such as the Med. In your case they offered two 7 day voyages under a single booking number, or you could book with two different booking numbers. It was two separate voyages one to the Eastern Caribbean and a second to the Western. You returned to Ft. Lauderdale after the first week and went through immigration. While you had a single booking number Princess keeps track as two separate voyages. On their records each leg of your b2b has a different voyage number. If you look at your folio you most likely will see a roll over from the first week to the second. Elites will receive 2 mini bars, one for each voyage. You will also receive credit for 2 cruises. For mini bar and cruise credit purposes think Princess voyages the way Princess records them and not booking numbers.
  22. The person that asked the two bottle question is boarding in Brooklyn.
  23. The Circle the Caribbean is a single 14 day voyage. Thus, one mini bar for the 14 days.
