  1. Lesson. Always travel internationally with a passport, no matter what others may say. Always research passport and visa requirements yourself.
  2. It depends on the cabin category. Deluxe Balcony, balcony, interior has showers. The lip of the pan is a around a 6 to 8 inch stepover. Mini suites have a tub/shower. The stepover is a little higher than a normal residential bathroom tub. The tub is raised from the floor and the tub walls are higher. Most full suites have both a separate tub and shower. The shower should be the same stepover as other showers. There is a small step up, maybe around 6 to 8 inches, to actually enter the bathroom.
  3. I would speak with the chefs at the Crown Grill and also Sabatini's.
  4. From experience. Princess transfers drop you off at the terminal where the airline is located. Make certain that you book a transfer that arrives at the proper terminal by your hotel. Moving around terminals at Heathrow is not that easy. It is especially more difficult between terminal 5 and other terminals where you have to take public transport.
  5. I would be thinking about staying overnight in either Vancouver or Sea-Tac and taking an early morning flight to Boston. From years of experience flying from the west coast to the east coast after a cruise this is the way we always book. When you book the same day you arrive very late in the evening or early in the AM and then you have to make your way home.
  6. Princess offers two itineraries. a) RT New York. Basically the ship stops at St. John, NB and Halifax, NS and a few US ports and then returns to New York. A basic RT to near foreign ports. b) One way New York to Quebec City or the reverse. This itinerary can be booked as a RT from New York since a RT would depart and return to the same US port.
  7. Crew appreciation was paid at HQ and should have been posted into the fleet wide pool. The ship should have this information. Removing the double charge on board should not be a concern.
  8. You should show the travel summary to passenger services and request that all charges be removed. If they fail then you always have the option of just requesting that all crew appreciation charges be removed knowing that you already paid them.
  9. There will be lesson sessions for about an hour each sea day sailing to and from Hawaii. No sessions while in Hawaii. In the past there was a show at the end of the cruise. Don't know if they are still doing this.
  10. Your interpretation of the PSVA is not accurate. The act requires that non US flag vessels may not carry passengers between two different US ports unless the vessel stops at a distant foreign port. Ensenada is a near foreign port. Boarding in Hawaii and disembarking in L.A. is a violation of the act. Thus the OP requires a waiver. The act also states that a non US flag vessel may carry passengers on RT voyages embarking and disembarking at the same US port as long as they stop at a near foreign port.
  11. Elua is scheduled to be on board. There will be ukulele lesson sessions on each sea day as well as Hula and some Hawaiian crafts (small fee). Dave recommends you bring your own ukulele. The ship has a limited supply, maybe 50, and the demand is high.
  12. Uber or taxi. Decent hotels with shuttle service to the pier in San Pedro are the Crown Plaza and the Doubletree. There are a few others. There are also hotels in Long Beach. If you stay in Long Beach you would have to take Uber/Taxi to the port on embarkation day. Depends on how long you want to stay pre-cruise what hotel you would select.
  13. For the OP, so as not to be confused. A partial transit is different than a full transit. More than 50% of passengers exit the ship in Gatun Lake for excursions and re-board at the dock in Colon/Cristobal. Also, the Caribbean Princess partial transit is through the Agua Clara (new) locks which are large. Tugs are used to keep the ship centered in the locks. There is lots of space on each side as well as forward and aft. There will be narration during the morning entrance. The exit is not narrated. The Coral Princess is an old Panamax ship which just fits through the original locks.
  14. Princess has inexpensive self service laundries on almost every deck. You might wish to bring along your own detergent and dryer sheets. Irons are free. If you budget two/three hundred dollars that will probably cover Princess doing your laundry of casual clothing for a 10 to 14 day cruise. If you send in formal suits and dresses that will run up the cost. Could be a way to use up any extra OBC. Full suite passengers receive comp. laundry service as do elite loyalty passengers.
  15. I have stayed on the ship at least three times. It is very quiet and relaxing. It is also very hot with strong sun. The P.C. is 9 degrees above the equator. Lots of space around the pools. I remember some trivia sessions. There may have been some silly games in the Piazza. All is open as it is on any other port day. It is easier to view the exit through the locks from Gatun Lake. Not as many people crowding the best viewing locations. When docked after the lock exit you can get off the ship and walk around the dock area. There were some vendors there the times we did this. At first it isn't crowded as many of the excursions have not returned. Ship excursions return passengers to the dock. Passengers on excursions do not get to view the lock exit.
  16. Basically no. A service charge is already included in the plus fares as well as the cost if purchasing individual coffee drinks. If the same person serves you every day in a way that is pleasing to you then you may wish to provide a cash reward at the end of the voyage. It is really up to you. I would not provide anything extra every time you get a coffee drink.
  17. Non alcoholic beverage carry on limits 12 cans of soda or other non alcoholic beverages including water allowed. All must be in cans, no bottles. If you have the plus or premier fare water is included.
  18. In the past there was a small smoking area on Princess Grand Class ships deck 7 starboard side aft just before the promenade went around the stern of the ship. This was a standing area used by both crew and passengers. On Royal Class ships the area was on the starboard side aft promenade deck patio. The entire stern section use for crew smoking was established post covid.
  19. I think you are referring to a March 19, 2023 sailing. Spring Break. You do not normally find college spring breakers on a 7 day Princess cruise. Too expensive and it isn't their go to line. Families tend to sail during Easter break, not mid March. There should be an active youth center on board which will have nice activities on sea days. See below for information. The Regal has one pool for youth, the main Lido pool. The Retreat Pool is for adults. There is also a dipping pool aft, Terrace Pool, that has a smoking area. Not certain if youth are permitted in this dipping pool. Princess has family entertainment which include production shows, family friendly comics, singers & musicians. There is also live musical entertainment in the lounges in the evening. Princess Cays is a nice beach area, but by no means the best of all cruises lines. The beach to the left (north) as you exit the tender is the better of the two. There are plenty of lounge chairs, but if you want one in the shade plan to get to the tender ticket location, usually a DR, early. Bring water shoes. The entrance to the ocean is full of weathered coral rocks, a little rough on the feet. St Thomas is a big shopping destination and there are beaches and tours. St. Kitts is similar. There is lots of information on line about these ports. Here is some information about the youth center. One thing to note. Princess normally will not allow cross overs from one age group to another. https://www.princess.com/news/backgrounders_and_fact_sheets/factsheet/Royal-Princess-Youth-and-Teen-Centers.html https://www.princess.com/downloads/pdf/Onboard_Experience/Youth_Guidelines_Registration.pdf There are lots of selections for casual food. Suggest you may wish to try Alfredo's for lunch or dinner. It is no charge. Nice individual pizzas and other menu items. Alfredo's, mid ship deck 6 as well as the grill and pizza by the Lido pool are open from around 11am until mid to late evening every day. The buffet is open from around 6am until late evening each day. It never closes during that time. The International Cafe on deck 5 is open 24/7 or almost 24/7. It may be closed at some point during the overnight. You can also order food and beverages on your phone, from your cabin TV or from one of the screens around the ship. It will be delivered to you. The waiters find your location by your medallion. You can also locate others in your family using the medallion location program. Here is the Princess dining guide. You can see what is available on the Regal Princess. https://www.princess.com/downloads/pdf/food-and-dining/dining-options.pdf
  20. Good to know. It's a nice upgrade to the selection process. Doubtful Princess has this backing track. You could ask to sing without a backing track. There are also times when karaoke is limited to adults. Depends on the ship's staff. There could be a youth karaoke session.
  21. You can trade any one or all non-alcoholic or alcoholic beverage for soda. You can also trade the entire mini bar, 10 alcoholic and 10 non alcoholic, for two coffee packages. There are no partial trades for the coffee packages. The coffee packages are normally assigned one each to two occupants of the cabin. You can ask to have them assigned to another person, example a relative/friend in another cabin, or both packages to one person if you wish.
  22. Guess you are questioning books or lists of karaoke songs. There are no hard copy lists or books that list which songs are available. Some ships had a tablet that you could scroll through, but it wasn't that easy to use. You just have to ask the staff member for the song/artist that you want to sing. They will look it up to see if they have it. They can search by song title or by artist. Suggest you come prepared with a few songs in your mind. If your first choice isn't available then maybe your 2nd or 3rd will be.
