  1. Just a word of caution, I used the e-med Navica test/app on my phone day before a Jan 2022 planned cruise. I loaded the app, called the phone number as instructed, waited an hour and one half on the phone. Finally an agent picked up the phone. She told me to add liquid into a little receptical provided. The liquid was dryed up!! Couldn't use it. Fortunately my DH and I purchased extra sets of the test. However, the agent told me I would have to hang up and start over again! Yes, wait another 1 1/2 hours or more! A word to all, make sure you have extra tests in the event you have a defective test.
  2. Your current room might be much smaller. Not familiar with cabins on thevship but I would assume ultra spacious ocean view is larger. Check cabins on YouTube
  3. I mixed up the cruise- Actually Royal has listed Labadee for our Upcoming cruise in August on the Oasis. CAPE LIBERTY, NJ (NY METRO) LABADEE, HAITI SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO PHILIPSBURG, ST. MAARTE Hope they switch to Cococay. The cruise is the Eastern Caribbean 9 nights-8/5 However pre pandemic we went to Labadee with a celebrity cruise multiple times-
  4. Royal Caribbean, especially the quantum and Oasis class ships are so much better then Carnival. The entertainment, food, facilities are superior to carnival. You will be glad you decided on royal- especially with children.
  5. Have sailed on both. Love the quiet ambiance of celebrity. However, the entertainment on Royal is excellent and Celebrity is fair at best. The amenities on royal the Oasis and Above ships include: a Broadway show, ice skating and and Ice show, A water show and of course the usual comedy shows. Also a great regular show. I typically prefer the choice of restaurants and food on Royal- but Celebrity food is often very good, especially the Lawn Club Grill on the S class ships. Many more outdoor activities for all age groups on Royal- Staterooms and suites on Royal great as is the suite deck, lounge and restaurant. Only on the Edge class does Celebrity have excellent deck and lounge facilities for suite guest- Also Coco Key- the Royal island is fabulous- much much better then Labadee which celebrity uses. Bottom line both cruise lines are very good to excellent- and so much better then the other moderately priced cruise lines.
  6. Tried- however no JR suites available- the only suite which is almost $8000 for five nights is an owners suite- That is much too much IMO. I will wait to see if I win a Royal up bid. People might decide not to go at the last minute due to multiple reasons-
  7. We wear matching shirts if traveling with a group. If you enjoy of course continue- who cares what other people think. Continue with your tradition. I also wear a lanyard- easy for me since I don't have pockets on most of my clothes or swim suits, and do not want to bring a bag all of the time around the ship. Enjoy
  8. We transferred the booking to a TA. Got a really good price. 40% cheaper then now- also cruise next week. We did get some credit from our credit card. Just a little concerned as the covid levels in our state- and NJ have doubled in a few weeks- the good news is that hospital admissions have not increased. We are fully vaccinated and boosted.
  9. IMO the much more comfortable room a real plus. Currently, I am in a superior balcony on the Adventure, and trying to move up to a Jr. Suite or higher- no credit for me- However the cabin/suite is so much bigger- we really don't care if the balcony might be smaller. But that is a personal choice- Enjoy your cruise-
  10. I would upgrade to a suite- as long as it doesn't include a Junior Suite. The Junior suite doesn't get the same amenities as a grand suite and above- It is just a larger nicer cabin- But we like the Suite lounge and all access to Coastal kitchen-you only get Dinner on an available basis to the CK in a Junior suite. However, it seems inexpensive with a nice on board credit- So perhaps a good deal
  11. Best to stay in your current cabin. Unless one half of your party moves and is willing to pay more. Typically You cannot change.
  12. We all have to adjust now. Unfortunately things have changed hopefully the service will improve as the cruise lines hire and train more people. We were on a Celebrity cruise in March and it is just about 1/3 full. Actually the service was excellent as the ship was empty. However , I fear our cruise with Royal next week will be pretty full so I do not have the same expectations.
  13. You are correct! In the old days, the questionare asked simple questions about coughing and cold and so many people on board had hacking coughs and were clearly ill. I remember long lines at the ships medical facility also!
  14. Yes. I have four bids still pending and none have been accepted yet. Cruise next week
  15. Hello, We will be on the Adventure in less then two weeks. Who is the Diamond Lounge Concierge? Thanks
  16. We were on the Celebrity Reflection in March and the ship had plenty of staff members, excellent service in all departments. We will be on the Royal Caribbean Adventure in less then two weeks and hope that the service is as good. Will report back.
  17. We now only book CLS on Oasis class ships. We prefer ocean view- quiet- great views. The suite is wonderful. Large- two bathrooms! so much storage- Great amenities. Location next to the suite lounge and restaurant! Near elevators. No comparison to the Owners suite. If you have issues with steps, one CLS has a small elevator chair-
  18. Thanks! Any information on the Diamond Lounge? We are awaiting a move up response, but might not get it and will use the Diamond Lounge if we do not get the suite.
  19. IMO royal suites are excellent! We had two bathrooms which are great! Lucky you!
