  1. The rumors are try, they have switched to Coke. Now I have to track down some Coke Zero. DD says the lamp looks like a hot air balloon.
  2. First, I'm really surprised we made it to the ship with our luck flying to Europe in the past and everything else going on now. However, it all went exactly as it was supposed to. Delta's flights booked via NCL, not an issue. We drove the couple hours to the regional then flew to DTW then to LHR. All in from airport to LHR under 11 hours. Was able to upgrade both flights. Haven check-in at Horizon Terminal upstairs and to left. No counter, they walk around with tablets, ask for same docs we just showed downstairs, take picture, give key card. These key cards work tap and go for most things like door lock or Haven elevator. I know there is already one thread on same subject and many, many CC folks on this trip so I'll probably stick to something I see of interest not already mentioned. Pictures to follow once they make it through the ether. Oh, not to forget, DW has said "Nice..", "WOW", "Nice" many times already.
  3. Looks like RCCL drives a bit faster than NCL, for your convenience, of course.
  4. How did I miss this and we are already on page 4? I was going to say why you up so early but if 8:50 local, I guess not. Have a great trip.
  5. Odd to see even the zero charges on there, we have not seen that.
  6. So what does the last item really mean? If arrival is 6 a.m. you get to 8?
  7. They give you boarding times but after restart reports are pretty lax. And they may have one time online, one in email, and yet a different time in text. Even in YC they boot you out of room early and they try to clear all by 9. Ocean Cay, what specifically are you looking for? It has several beaches. Not all were open last fall due to limited guests but have not seen many reports since. It is very new, clean, organized. Many bars, restaurants, things to do. Very nice. Buy package before but have to book on ship.
  8. Yes, Prima. Hearing mixed reviews which is normal. Been on Divinia twice. Last fall YC was pretty empty but still great and Arthur was on but he is in the Med supposedly. Since Le Muse is in the back, we found it easy to go down to 13 which is cabins and walk back to last elevator bank then up two floors. Note also if by pool, there is a small inside corridor behind the bar with two elevators that go down to other decks. These are YC express elevators and very convenient to go to main part of ship and back.
  9. Sailed five times on MSC and only one time by a pool bar on a packed day did we ever have a wait outside YC.
  10. Right, you can rent them. Also, the beach right by ship, at least late in the afternoon, had no problem with sitting under umbrella for free after we left YC beach and stopped at lighthouse bar.
  11. Sailing this week on NCL after four year break. We'll see how steaks are in Haven unless we get lucky with leftovers from VIP trip. I'd attribute NCL decline purely at saving money, for your convenience, of course. One of my favorites was breakfast filet and eggs which NCL has downgraded.
  12. They use the same agency as NCL. There are a few posts here but nothing like the 100+ pages on NCL. MSC is just not as rabid as NCL with them. To add, most are not a deal at all. Just this week a post about YC bid $6400 on top of what paid. Most YC you can get in $5000 range outright.
  13. Recognize OP from NCL boards Either will be fine. MSC you will find to be good choice.
  14. Welcome to CC. As I've said before, YC upgrades are really not a good deal. That is more than we normally pay for four of us in YC straight out. Our one experience, only subsequent email bids will be higher. Also, how old are kids? Unless you get a room for five, slim chance, the sofa beds in YC are dinky, like between a twin and double.
  15. We've sailed 5 times out of US as Diamond and all in YC and two in RS. Maybe we just annoy the staff but they want us off asap. I have read of people in Europe staying in lounge until afternoon but not in US. Latest we've ever left is 9. Never been told you are Diamond and can stay late. Kind of like the YC private shopping that doesn't seem to exist even though we'd have no use for it. The plus side is getting on ship has been early as 10 ish so getting ship cleared does help in that way.
  16. That used to vary by ship but can't say what is going on now. Example, Seaside most venchi drinks free for YC as was Gelato over ship. Mera, no.
  17. While eating/table space in NCL suites can vary widely, on MSC the rooms are really not set up for dining. Not enough table space or real normal chairs tables other than in some RS on the balcony.
  18. We sailed Divinia last September and they had just switched to pick one bottle of booze and one item for some things like Twix. Other items stocked. TV, doesn't really matter. That ship used to have tons of channels and movies but now it is down to a few news channels and a classic movie channel which was ok.
  19. I can't tell you where steaks come from on either line other than maybe the same freezer which I've toured on NCL. I can say service and steaks in Cagney's has declined for us and has improved in Haven restaurant. I usually order two on both lines. NCL has moved breakfast steak to lower cut now, for your convenience, of course. We sailed MSC 11 nights on two ships last Fall and had no issues with YC filet other than I miss them now. We always love BC and whether it is really a better steak or not or just the overall better meal options, it is great. For our BC meal, we asked Arthur what was going to be for dinner in YC the next night to decide where to eat and he said he'd grab filet from BC to have in YC the next night.
  20. I have not read all pages yet, but how did you get breakfast filet vs the new steak listed?
  21. There are more than one. I don't think I grabbed a shot of one of the menus. I just Isiah to pick one. Best way I could describe is if you took the smell of a structure fire during overhaul and made it into a drink.
  22. It is not uncommon for the third party upgrade agency to have bids for sold out categories. I've also noticed that the minimum bid is often not much savings of booking outright.
  23. Welcome to CC. I will say across lines we've sailed, MSC has some of the lowest drink prices.
  24. It is really one of those things you have to experience. Had first one on Seaside by the bar by BC made by the Great Isiah. Best drink I ever had. Only certain bars make them.
