  1. Or listen to the available audioguide (app) in your phone.
  2. Yes, I habe done this tour. Indeed the underground part has its own interesting sights and fascination. Yet, one hour will not be enough for the colosseum part of the tour. When we did it there was a chance to leave about 2/3 through, but what a waste would that have been.
  3. Indeed, there is absolutely no need to pay more for a third party vendor. Yet be advised that you might need to check the site for tickets often. Quite odtwn all time slots sell out immediately but become available again later.
  4. Thanks so much. Actually I do enjoy breakfast in the sun. ☀️
  5. Sorry, not close to the Placa Catalunya and just a recommendation I have got, at least close to a Metro station: La Gavina at the port next to the museu d' historia de Catalunya.
  6. How nice. I have stayed around the corner but never directly in the Piazza. Maybe I should change my mind. What kind of Breakfast was offered?
  7. Good to read about the "lovely" and helpful staff. Thank you for your report.
  8. Your plan for Mykonos sounds excellent. As you have 12 hohes on Santorini I would recommend to include one of the major important historic sites in your plan, potentially with a ship's tour as there is usually a stop at another port early for these tour guests only: Akotiri, more than 3500 years old Or Ancient Thiera
  9. Thank you for this information. Celebrities new all-in pricing plus single Supplement is IMHO rather insane.
  10. Oh - obviously leather jackets are more suitable for higher temperatures than a blazer. ??? Seriously, sorry, this looks more like a queue at check out at Home Depot than what I am used to from Cunard voyages.
  11. If you booked them as individual cruises rather than one long one, you should be aware that cabin changes might occur anytime according to your contract. Nevertheless asking them now opens at least the change of another solution more pleasing to you.
  12. Sounds like a good idea! The chance of your luggage getting lost is real, yes, but it minuscle. There is no reason to restrict yourself in what you would like to bring.
  13. I am on the cruise before yours and it took also some time before fellow guests started to respond. Thus remain optimistic!
  14. Indeed this is both, the simple answer to any packing issues people claim and the proper tone for any Cunard voyage.
  15. The menues make me looking forward to the QE even more - thank you.
  16. Palma de Mallorca: The historic city centre with the cathedrale is a 45 Min walk or a just bus ride away from the pier. Again: Easy to do on your own if you are willing to do a bit of research about what you would like to see before.
  17. The advantages of taking Cunard's, or any other cruise line's, excusions are that somebody else does the planning and takes care of all the logistics. Cunard's price are somewhat similiar to other lines, maybe a tad high. Alternatives for the ports: In Genoa you can start your own walking tour right at the pier. Everything is walkable. Even the train station is right there in case you want to see another town. For Rome many passengers take the train in their own for a fraction of the price of the transportation only excursion. Yet, if you have never been and look for a well organized overview tour, the guided excursions might be good options.
  18. Could you tell us which ports you are looking at? In general you do better by just walking off on your own or taking public transportation if needed.
  19. This one is about personal preferences. As all of the ports in Europe offer so many sights, I prefer cruises that have more seadays - to relax in between, to let the new experiences sink in, and just to enjoy the Mediterranean Sea itself. When there is only one seaday in a week, I usually skip one of the ports to create my own "sea day". The "seven countries in six days approach" is nothing for me and nothing I would recommend.
  20. Oh, and grell mail boxes are follow with blue inscribtion and a "head".
  21. Just be sure to check with your ship as the actual handling nicht be different: Some will take your postcards without stamps, some others require the correct postage and yet others might not offer this service at all.
  22. Well, I hope Cunard fully reverts to fixed seating again. One of my reason to book Britannia on Cunard on purpose is to have the same waiters and table mates in the traditional way. Thus I hope for you that you get your BC cabin and seating as wanted but please do not spoil the experience for those who are more than happy with the traditional fixed seating.
  23. One argument for the first option is the closeness of the ports to the sights and the ease of access.
  24. I really my similiar, two nights stay in Winchester and can gighly recommend it. Instead of using a taxi you could also take the direct coach from LHR albeit I am not sure if it is currently running reliable. Note that there is substantial walking involved if you want to see and reach everything by foot.
  25. I guess that one is subjektive. I regard MSC's entertainment as far superior. The number and variety of live music on MSC is much higher. I have been on Celebrity cruises were the last live music finished at 11, and shortly after everything was dead. On MSC you can expect many styles of music until late. Celebrity has terrible electronic instruments instead of real strings, in MSC you might even get an Opera performance. And so on.
