  1. Yes, testing is free for all in Germany. This is supposed to stop by the end of June, but might be prolonged.
  2. In my experience, yes, each person can link a different credit card to his or her account and cruise card.
  3. Actually there are various places where ships dock, thus there is no simple detailed answer. Nevertheless, there should be a stop not to far away as the bus follows partly the river.
  4. I am glad you found something you can look forward to. Enjoy!
  5. Everything is electronically recorded, thus it would be difficult to serve you a beer nobody is charged for. Of course you can always get a drink above your packages limit and just pay for it. Which package suits your taste best you have to decide.
  6. Genoa will probably the largest share of people disembarking but it is still rather simple with staggered times like on other shops. 10 am should be no problem at all.

    Capri

Yes, the ferries do get cancelled - yet only very few times, usually in Winter and when the weather is extremely horrible.
  8. The Wyndham offers (used to offer?) day rooms.
  9. In my experience the answer is yes. A friend of mine does this all the time. On her first cruise she went seasick, got the injection, rested for a while and was fine after that.
  10. That of course has nothing to do with the OP's question about bad behaving people. Quite opposite the families and groups on MSC tend to have a lot of fun but not to overdrink.
  11. Just some additions: 1) Buses do work perfectly but take much longer than taxis in my experience (we went there by bus and returned by taxi). Taxis were plenty in Mdina. 2) There is nothing to choose about where to get off. Buses do mo go into Valetta, but stop at the central bus station right in front of the walls. 3) Valetta is for the most part on a higher level than the port. You can walk down or take the elevator. Final advice: do not rush. Mdina deserves several hours, Valetta several days.
  12. It is easy to explore Lisbon on your own. Yet, depending on where your ship docks and what you want to see you might need sometimes public transportation or a taxi as Lisbon is too big a city to walk everywhere. Nevertheless that is very easy to do.
  13. I do not know if the number of buses depends on what the cruiseline pays, yet I had better experience on other lines. Anyway, the easiest was to avoid crowds and stress is to take a taxi. They are normalky easily available both in the city centre and a the train station. CORRECTION: Sorry, forget about the above. I missed that you were looking for the shuttle to the port entrance, not into town.
  14. You got very good advice to do a lot of research to find the perfect match. Yet, if you are overwhelmed anyway, there is the other option to keep it simple: You know two places you like to see, thus use one of those online agencies where you can enter ports as a research criteria, take a rough look on the offers and choose the line that first most to your idea of cruising. For a first cruise here all ports will provide some great experience.
  15. If your cruiseline / ship really allows you to get off that early, it should be no problem.
  16. The main roads have a rather good standard, including to Westpunt. A normal car should be fine.

    Capri

IMHO you are right, you would wamt to spend the whole day on Capri. The boat trip sounds more like an option for a second visit or people who do not want or cannot walk around a lot.
  18. Of course neither I nor anybody else can guarantee anything, yet Bonaire has a reputation of being safe.
  19. As German I found reading your Report from your American perspective very interesting entertaining. Thank you!
  20. Perfect. Thus, to the OP, you might get some what more fitting advice if you tell where you will go.
  21. Could somebody tell me the current email address for Cunard's customer service, both UK and US, please? Sorry, if this is common knowledge.
  22. I just last month received a letter confirming a FCC for a cruise in 2020. I never called, mailed, blackmailed, threatend or publically attacked them. Sometimes things take a while. PS: "Stole" - really?
  23. The island is nice but certainly not my first recommendation. Kotor itself is a beautiful historic walled city. It is rather small and easy to walk with a number of churches ( if it is nothing for you, it still completes the picture) and museums. Even just roaming the alleys and little squares is worthwhile. On your first visit we spend a whole day here, and half of day on the second visit. More sportive people can climb up the walls and up the hill.
  24. When you take the option with the shuttle into town and bus to the train station, note that you can buy a ticket including bus and train at the tabacco stores. No additional buying at the station.
