  1. It appears it's not the rumor: Seabourn Cruise Line Has Been Sold!* - Goldring Travel According to the Saudi Tourism Authority, Seabourn Cruise Line has been sold to the Saudis. The people I spoke with were definite and quite excited. They, in fact, emphasized the point by placing their fingers on a map of Saudi and stating, “Do you think we are building these two new cruise ports for no reason?!“
  2. Whenever I compare the least expensive balcony with Aqua (both refundable and with the same all included perks) for the same number of nights (or recalculated per day), balcony is only approximately $200 less (for 10-day cruise) per person. Also, Aqua includes unlimited Persian Garden assess (SEA Thermal Suites on the Edge class) - price is around $400 (including 18% gratuities) for 10-day cruise. So, for people like us (who use it every day for a few hours and multiple times during sea days) in the end, the balcony becomes $200 more than Aqua for 10-day cruise!!!
  3. It's due to a fact I'm a mind reader! Our mantra is not to complain no matter what (regardless of whether an issue is minor or bigger). The state of mind is what matters! Addressing the matter is not the same as to complaining.
  4. Again, just a few years ago it wouldn't even cross anyone's mind to defend oneself about such situation. It's so dramatic how quickly the world has been changing back toward dark ages. Nevertheless, Voyage, Voyage!!!
  5. It's so funny (these days) reading apologies (like this one) from the opposite direction of service. It's like to say "I have absolutely no problem with the overworked mechanics missing to replace oil in my car during the oil change service on one or two occasions".
  6. We leave for that cruise in 2 weeks. Then at end of August we have 7-day cruise you described - on Norwegian Escape. You may join us (we booked 5 cabins for 13 people with 3 kids - our first cruise if that kind!).
  7. Yes, an exact and precise evaluation of cruise life after first 30 (or so) cruises. We always try to find a balance between a number of port and sea days (our next 16-day Norway cruise that has “only” 4 sea days with booked excursion in all but one port of calls is an exception; it will be “tough” to “survive”). And we call 7-day cruises “a torture” these days (we still work; so our mind needs to travel for a longer time).
  8. It's a competition these days: what's more ridiculous - for double/triple price: No peanuts on the plane? No cleaning in the hotel?
  9. spend hours on the phone and not get anywhere - Whose job is that? TA's? It's no one's job. It's just rubbish.
  10. One way or another, that's the whole goal for the majority of cruise lovers! Some wouldn't say "to be board", but secretly it's still a similar concept, just in a different sense.
  11. Sure, my comment was rhetoric exercise just to confirm that nothing is a big deal. People simply "prefer" to enjoy everything (you mentioned) to full extend; so, they hope not to be interrupted with a regular life's daily annoyances. Free? Free is only cheese in a mouse trap.
  12. Nothing is a big deal. However, why in that case pay cruise prices over, say, camping?
  13. It shall be 0, because, otherwise, what's "low enough"? and by 0 I mean "no expectation" at all (not 0 (as infinite) level) signifying that without expectation, "complaint mentality" is gone from consideration.
  14. Actually, mental health has changes (I "predicted" it along with dozens of other "predictions" while on the Ponant ship in March 8-24). I put quotations marks, because, in reality, it was not a prediction but obvious inevitability. So, we ignore the majority of reviews focusing on simple gratification.
  15. It occurs on almost all cruise lines lately (luxury and not).
  16. and how about if you bought air on your own? If you cancel air, most likely you would just get a up to 1 year future booking credit, and neither any cruise line nor any insurance would compensate you for it. So, if you spent $10,000 or more on air (which is typical to what Regent air discount is for 2 people), you would be stuck with the same airline (no flexibility) and have to spend that large amount during just 1 year or end up losing that amount (or leftover if you buy new air for a lesser amount) all together.
  17. It is a really fun, especially, in Caribbean or South Pacific waters! I shall also try it in Indian Ocean on my cruise in December 2024 from Cape Town to Dubai.
  18. I drink 15-20 servings starting with a few morning (7am) glasses of champagne and finishing with scotch around 12-1 am; so, I can simply sleep outside above the pool deck in peace even on Regent, Ponant, Seabourn, and alike.
  19. Why? Because other choices will bring more variety of complaints one might realize.
  20. They shall just write - "Celebrity... Food... "Excellent!" "
  21. Aqua also includes unlimited access to the Thermal Suites that typically cost $30 per day plus $18% gratuity (perhaps, this price also went up lately). We use the sauna/steam room and other multi-salt/infra rooms every day (multiple times at sea days); so, lately we always book Aqua.
  22. The same; however, all of a sudden, there is no more a potential price reduction - my entire March 3, Millenium 2025 cruise is sold out since 3 weeks ago (almost 2 years ahead of time) except inside and ocean view!
  23. same with us even though we booked our cruise just 1.5 months ago.
  24. For our March 3, 2025 Millenium cruise there is no anything (all excursions we booked have the same price now even with the majority of them stating that the price is currently promotional; I don't bother $2 saving per day ($18 instead of $20) upgrade from Classic to Premium being worth to consider).
  25. Typically, a travel agent doesn't book excursions.
