  1. The laundry on hangers perk was a complete surprise to me (they even ironed my PJ bottoms and brought them back over hangers).
  2. So for a 9 and 15 night (TA) B2B, no test for the 9 night cruise, and then an "unproctored" for the following 15 night? I'm bringing tests for my own comfort level but I sort of doubt they'll let me use my own DIY for the 2nd leg. Will just have to wait and see what else comes between now and then.
  3. Jim, did they change out the shower gel, etc, to that Santal stuff (think it was Santal 33) on this cruise?
  4. I've never prebooked before and don't see anywhere to apply a captain's club discount online. So do you get a refund for it after you're aboard? Edit: Can it be applied if I call instead?
  5. I've been doing that to my Evernote account since you first began posting. I just add to it when you do which automatically updates my list on my PC, tablet, and phone. It's been handy when I load up books for cruises.
  6. On the Summit, the ones on Deck 9 had spotty wifi. No problem on the other decks, though.
  7. I think what will do or already did the deed was travel agents, who weren't able to find that discount, calling for repricing or new bookings. I sent a screenshot of online pricing and asked my TA to make a new booking at that price. Booking direct pretty much screws the TA. My intention was to book online and then transfer the booking to my TA. X can't afford cut out the TAs so they have to fix it.
  8. I just did another dummy booking using ALLABOARD100 and the better price still shows. I'm about 50% tempted to book it online. The thing holding me back is my cabin for current booking. It's an M-class aft (humongous balcony) for a 16-night cruise. For that long, the extra ~$30/night for my current cabin/booking may be worth it. Need to pour a glass of wine and think about it some more.
  9. I'm in total agreement with you. I think what she told me is rubbish and just something to fill the dead airspace. I should have prefaced this way back at the beginning that my booking is for a C1 cabin which I made July 23rd when I switched an onboard booking from South America to a Transatlantic. I was stunned then at the OBC and truly have no idea how they determined $1050 OBC for an ordinary onboard booking (since it's a TA, only $100 of it is from booking onboard). My $505 price adjustment today is the same fare that's available to anyone today. Don't ask me where the additional $120 OBC has come from. Such a large OBC is somewhat dumbfounding in as much as it's not a suite. But I'll take it....I see massages in my crystal ball 🤗.
  10. I'm quoting myself because my results changed. X supervisor said it was an IT error (ya think? 🤣) and those that got this will have adjustments after they've researched them. I kind of doubt anyone at X is good enough to find them. Nevertheless, there has been a pricing drop for my cruise and my net result has been to keep the onboard booking number, have fare reduced by $505, and an additional $120 has been added to my already enormous OBC. I'm pleased but I do NOT understand X's accounting.
  11. I gave up trying to poach eggs years ago and now I just cruise to have them. Much better system. 😉
  12. I've had no GF issues in Luminae, or any of the dining rooms for that matter, it's just that for all the Luminae hype, they don't or can't go out of their way to make something GF that should be relatively simple. They have whole potatoes so one would think they could make a fresh french fry (they're coated & frozen) one time upon request during a two-week cruise since they already have a dedicated fryer to make fresh potato chips. Nope. And I've asked every time. Maybe I'll try asking the F&B mgr next time. When you cruise weeks at a time, it's disappointing.
  13. Thanks for posting the discount code! I just checked one of my bookings for next year (Nov) and it's $1104 less than my current cruise-only fare which has an absurd $1050 OBC. I'll happily forego the OBC, lose the $100 cancelation fee, and rebook (and use the savings to upgrade flight). Since I already receive wifi and bev pkg, I'd been wondering how I was going to use up that much OBC anyway; prefer lower fare to nonrefundable OBC. The $100 OBC will cover some of the gratuities. Anyway, this was a lovely surprise! Thanks again.
  14. That's exactly what I've encountered in Luminae. I know the menus by heart in Blu, Luminae, and MDR and my go-to for GF is mainly Blu followed by MDR. For sure, skip the bread. Once seated, I immediately order a straight-up liqueur like Chambord, Kahlua, creme de menthe, etc, so it's there for dessert. Poured over vanilla ice cream, it becomes a very tasty GF "sundae" no matter what's on the dessert menu. I too bring along crunchy things and bagels/buns. Makes for weird packing for a long B2B; definitely not gonna be "just a carryon." 😆
  15. I'd never cruised the Caribbean in August until the cruising restart on the Equinox last year. My long balcony, 2105, was too hot use in the daytime (heat radiated from those long metal walls even into the night). Two weeks later, I was able to switch 2105 to 2104 ON the hump which got lots more air movement. If I ever take any more summer cruises, I'll book the angled cabins in front of the hump. So for me, choice will now depend on the time of the year.
  16. This is from the current 12-night Newark to Iceland cruise:
  17. When I was on Summit last Fall, had a CS on Deck 6 where wifi was good and Roku worked. Then a CS on Deck 9 where the wifi was almost nonexistent and I had to step close to the door or out onto the balcony for a reliable signal. Three tech guys tried hard find a workaround but it was no-go.
