  1. On the Excel Class ships your YTD dining room is the MDR, Chibang Or Cucina. You can select whichever is first available or one specifically when checking in on the app.
  2. Lunch doesn't count as it is always free. The first time is free for dinner and only $8 per person after that. We ate at Chibang twice on the Mardi Gras and were charged the second time. My niece was not charged as she is 4 and ate off the kids menu.
  3. I was on the same cruise and was given paper menus without asking, especially at Chibang. I actually prefer digital! I did see SOME of the bars had paper menus but not all. Example Serenity bar had them hooked to the sofas and chairs near the bar but there were none to be found at the Casino bar. Alchemy had it on the app but I did see a paper one in passing. Agree it was an amazing cruise!
  4. Each venue varies by time but none of them close at 1. The latest open thing is Guy's burger which is until 6 on port day. On a sea day most of the lunch opens close around 2:30 except Guy's and Shaq's. Times can change however by the time your cruise rolls around.
  5. Funny enough, currently on the Mardi Gras and they are using oval dishes for the melting cake so it's technically bigger than the normal round ramekin. If my nephew gets one tonight, I'll take a picture.
  6. I'm sorry there were so many issues on your cruise. Especially the safety aspect. The only thing I would say is there is no way for Carnival or any other cruiseline to know that people will act like that onboard. There does need to be a better system in place when it happens but they also have no way of knowing it WILL happen. I hope it went through the proper channels to put systems in place for the future.
  7. If they provide you a future cruise credit (which is not IMPOSSIBLE, but I wouldn't get my hopes up), the credit would go to you as the person who paid. It would not go to the others unless you provided their information to Carnival such as their past guest number. Simply putting 'John Smith' on the room won't give credit to John. They still have to have a way to get/use the credit. Just correcting what was said earlier about the name of the passenger getting the credit is incorrect.
  8. 17 days! Everything else is over 200.
  9. My mom attempted to use the code and it didn't work for her either. Apparently the wifi discount is only WITH the purchase of an excursion or spa treatment.
  10. This post is several years old. You are no longer allowed to email the onboard staff. You can ask your request once onboard or you can post a message on John Heald on his Facebook about 5 days before your cruise and he will try to assist.
  11. I'm bummed. I love Cookie. I was looking forward to seeing him again for our MG cruise.
  12. On Carnival's side, your cruise is paid for so if you change anything it doesn't effect Uplift. If you cancel the cruise you get what Carnival gives Uplift back. So if you're within the 50% refund time, you get the 50% back. I haven't had to pay any interest when using Uplift so far but if your offer is with interest, it would be minus that.
  13. The chat feature is to chat through the Hubapp not your Imessage. The other posters weren't being "Karens". That's not even what a Karen by definition even is. They told you correctly. It's not "supposed " to work. Sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't. Don't ever count on it.
  14. DallasGuy is exactly right. No need to go to the port an hour before actually. You will literally just be standing around and in the bottle neck of departing passengers. They keep it moving and your 10 am arrival time is the earliest and they won't let you inside before then. I wouldn't show up before 9:30/9:45 but yes there will be porters there to take your luggage in between them going back to help departing passengers with theirs.
  15. My point is still valid. It's also illegal to cross the border with THC. Hence my comment earlier about watching "To Catch A Smuggler".
  16. I highly suggest watching the show "To Catch A Smuggler" on Disney+. All the questions about processes and how they pick people to check and not check and why are answered on that show. It's fascinating and way more complicated than you think. It doesn't feature cruiselines however but CBP process is the same anywhere.
  17. My last cruise in August...had it every brunch.
  18. You can get Pineapple juice free as juice with breakfast/brunch in the dining room. It's a charge anywhere else. There is Orange/Guava juice on the breakfast buffet with the apple and orange juice. It's my favorite but it's the only place to get it. Any other time you want juice yes you would have to pay for it at the bar without a drink package.
  19. Going to Barcelona from New Orleans on a cruise is almost unheard of so yeah in that aspect it's going somewhere 🤣. Seadays are a blessing. I would take a cruise to no where if it was still a thing. Trust cruise critic won't make the decision for us, logistics would. I was just interested to see what my cruise critic buddies would pick. I'm blessed enough to even have a choice and I honestly wish I could do both.
  20. That was indeed a concern of mine, mostly if we would make the glaciers. I don't mind the cold.
  21. So right now, Mom and I are scheduled in April of 2025 to go to Alaska from Seattle. Never been to Alaska or Seattle for that matter. However today a 16 day Journeys cruise from NOLA (our homeport) to Barcelona is now available. That one is 4 days after the Alaska one ends so no way to do both. We have plenty of time to decide. Which would you pick? We've also never been to Barcelona either. I thought the flights would be outrageous but if I was to buy flights from Barcelona now it's less than $1000 for both of us. Obviously the price will be different 2 years from now but at the moment it's not unaffordable. Even the cruise in a balcony room is only $1300 pp which is less than I payed for our upcoming Mardi Gras cruise. Alaska is indeed a bucket list trip and Barcelona wasn't originally but it is now 🤣 since I can Uber 10 minutes from my house to Port of NO.
  22. I go watch Bingo all the time. I don't usually play anymore. Usually Bingo is before another event I'm there for but sometimes I just like watching. Same with Deal or no deal. No one will notice or care if you bring your own cards just don't forget you aren't really playing and yell "Bingo" lol!
  23. We use both metal straws and we found compostable "plastic" straws on Amazon. They are plant based. 200 Count 100% Plant-Based Compostable Colorful Straws-KTOB Biodegradable Flexible Drinking Straws - A Fantastic Eco Friendly Alternative to Disposable Plastic Bendable Plasticless Straws
  24. I've only had it the main dining room and it's not really on the menu as mentioned. I get Pinapple sorbet most every night since most of the desserts involve chocolate or nuts. I know they have orange and lime as well.
