  1. Your sign and sail card will be outside your room when rooms are ready. Most ships it's around 1:30. Anything you charge onboard you use that card. Only time you won't need to show it for paid dining is at say the Steakhouse or Rudi's, etc. because they just charge you automatically. At say the Seafood Shack, you will need to show it because they charge on the spot when you order.
  2. Carnival already showed us what the plan is. It's going to keep smaller ships just not build new ones which is exactly what John said. They will move ships from the other brands, like they are already doing, and take out the aging ships when the time comes. It assures smaller sized ships for at least the next few decades without having to build completely new smaller ships. I thought that seemed obvious.
  3. Pringles is usually what's in the shops on board. I've only gotten chips from room service with a sandwich order. I usually either bring my own because I like to take a snack in Port or I buy in Port especially because I can get local chips that's harder to find in the States.
  4. Sorry to hear that but that's not normal for that garage.
  5. I have not heard of break ins at the port garage. You may be mixing it up with the flat Whale lot where the other cruiselines park and its also parking for the Riverwalk Outlets. Fulton St. is the garage for cruise parking and also the convention center and the restaurants in the area so constant coming and going.
  6. If I drive to the port (I'm local) I would only do the port parking or Fulton St. Those are the most secure. No one can access the port garage at all and Fulton has 24 hour security. I prefer the port for convenience because you can do everything through the garage.
  7. 3 days before we left for our cruise on the Mardi Gras I was leaving out the house the run errands when out mail lady pulled up and yelled "Yall got a mail hold, huh?" Mind you several of my neighbors were outside and heard. I quietly confirmed that yes we had a 2 week hold. (We took a road trip to Savannah after the cruise.) We left the next day and she started delivering mail 6 days later. 🙄 It was also set for pickup. Next cruise I'm just having my friend come get my mail.
  8. That island is new and hasn't opened to the public yet. I image there may be some kind of night entertainment. Maybe a light show like Royal does? (Is it Royal or NCL??) To my knowledge, this is Carnival's first private island they would be docked late in Port to. HMC the ships typically leave between like 3 -5 pm. Someone will of course correct me if I'm wrong.
  9. A name change usually does not result in a re-fare unless it was book under a special rate, like a low casino rate. Last checked the change was $50. The other option is a no show. You don't have to tell or explain to Carnival anything. The person just doesn't show up. Anything prebooked, like excursions or drink packages will be refunded to the OPM same with port taxes and fees. You just won't get the cost of the cruise back. Just went through this with my brother. Yes he was the primary in the room but had to no show but his wife and kids went. No issue, no contact from guest service. Refund came about a week or so after sailing.
  10. It didn't work for my nephew and sis in law on the Mardi Gras for New Years. They both have iphones and couldn't text or get texts. My mom had the wifi package and my brother communicated with her. He didn't cruise with us due to work.
  11. Be careful, you'll be riding through rain basically your whole ride. Also have patience at the garage in Moblie. They do not like anyone lining up before the garage opens for new cruisers. Both cruises we did, they made us get out of line park and sit until 930/10 when they let you in. Time depends on the day. Also the New Orleans charge is correct. The same company that runs the NOLA garage and porters also works this one. Same porters as well.
  12. THANK YOU! I never understood where people got the idea that NOLA doesn't sell cruises. I worked at the cruiseport for 2 years for RC. We can absolutely support an Excel class ship and maybe a Dream or Spirit class doing the same current rotations. I'll be the first one booked.
  13. I still stand on the fact that New Orleans can support an Excel class ship. They are already working on the river to support larger ships. I guess I need to just be thankful that we get some Celebration Key sailings.
  14. That's not it used to be called. I can't remember the original name or maybe it was called Clue back when Carnival had the Hasbro partnership. Anywho, I haven't see it on a ship since before covid. It was fun however.
  15. On the Excel Class ships your YTD dining room is the MDR, Chibang Or Cucina. You can select whichever is first available or one specifically when checking in on the app.
  16. Lunch doesn't count as it is always free. The first time is free for dinner and only $8 per person after that. We ate at Chibang twice on the Mardi Gras and were charged the second time. My niece was not charged as she is 4 and ate off the kids menu.
  17. I was on the same cruise and was given paper menus without asking, especially at Chibang. I actually prefer digital! I did see SOME of the bars had paper menus but not all. Example Serenity bar had them hooked to the sofas and chairs near the bar but there were none to be found at the Casino bar. Alchemy had it on the app but I did see a paper one in passing. Agree it was an amazing cruise!
  18. Each venue varies by time but none of them close at 1. The latest open thing is Guy's burger which is until 6 on port day. On a sea day most of the lunch opens close around 2:30 except Guy's and Shaq's. Times can change however by the time your cruise rolls around.
  19. Funny enough, currently on the Mardi Gras and they are using oval dishes for the melting cake so it's technically bigger than the normal round ramekin. If my nephew gets one tonight, I'll take a picture.
  20. I'm sorry there were so many issues on your cruise. Especially the safety aspect. The only thing I would say is there is no way for Carnival or any other cruiseline to know that people will act like that onboard. There does need to be a better system in place when it happens but they also have no way of knowing it WILL happen. I hope it went through the proper channels to put systems in place for the future.
  21. If they provide you a future cruise credit (which is not IMPOSSIBLE, but I wouldn't get my hopes up), the credit would go to you as the person who paid. It would not go to the others unless you provided their information to Carnival such as their past guest number. Simply putting 'John Smith' on the room won't give credit to John. They still have to have a way to get/use the credit. Just correcting what was said earlier about the name of the passenger getting the credit is incorrect.
  22. 17 days! Everything else is over 200.
  23. My mom attempted to use the code and it didn't work for her either. Apparently the wifi discount is only WITH the purchase of an excursion or spa treatment.
