  1. Yes because it's not based on the price of the trip. I did not have to provide costs for the quote.
  2. Last month we were able to answer the questionnaire 2 days before our Reflection cruise. Love the consistency. 😁
  3. On cabin benefits alone we would always choose the GS over a JS on an Oasis Class. That said, pricing could flip that dynamic.
  4. Yes and no. We had 3 booked when we bought the policy. The price we paid is only twice what we would pay for a single trip policy. We've since added 2 more bookings.
  5. Yes and no. Allianz offers $5,000, $7,500, and $10,000 maximum benefits but you'd need to have multiple cruises booked to make the price paid worth while.
  6. Makes sense. Traditional travel insurance is age and price dependent so we're not getting any younger and cruises aren't getting any cheaper. That's why this seemed like an appealing alternative to pay as you go. PS: I can't believe anyone named 'GTO-Girl' could consider themselves old. 😉
  7. Freedom JS for the space. If you're kids were older I'd say Symphony but they're too young to take full advantage of what Symphony has to offer.
  8. We also purchased the annual Allianz plan. They did ask ages and departure date of our first trip but nothing of detail beyond that other than personal information. We had booked 3 cruises during the insured period but then we booked additional cruises that were over the maximum cancellation benefit. We'll only be covered up to 75% for those but were OK with that. The cost was $715 total.
  9. It's been years since I bought one but weren't the refills buy 5 and get one free or something like that? One bartender started opening all the beers until I stopped him. He made me promise not take them back to my cabin... Me: Wut!!! Him: I can't sell them to you closed if you're taking them back to your cabin. Me: Um...no, um...I would never ever do that...Thanks. Heads back to cabin.
  10. Haven't tried the new menus yet but everything looks good except Lobster Mac N Cheese. The closest I get to mixing anything with lobster is a baked stuffed. Can't imagine dunking it in cheese. As a Nor' Easterner it seems sacrilege.
  11. Last time we had a guaranty cabin scanning the barcode produced '-GTY' and not a cabin number until 18 days out. By then we were notified of the assignment so your experiences may vary.
  12. Doesn't Celebrity offer a 'Cruise Only' option now? Suites are AI but I thought they made the change after too many complaints.
  13. It is identified by category on the SetSail Pass. The suites categories are Sea, Sky, and Star.
  14. We enjoy Luminae but the specialties are a nice change of pace and we need to use that OBC for something. Murano is our go to after having mixed experiences in Tuscan. We've never done La Petite Chef but I'll miss the Porch on Equinox. Tried it for the first time 2 weeks ago on Reflection and really liked it.
  15. It boggles the mind the disparity in response times but it is the government so there's that.
  16. Based on advice here on CC, we sent our renewal in on March 13th, paid for expedited service (because we have a May cruise) and received them yesterday.
  17. Thanks, we're on Equinox in May so I'm hoping.
  18. We were on Reflection 2 weeks ago and pre-cruise we were warned here on CC that Celebrity no longer carries Zacapa. They were using Bumbu Rum at the World Class which caught a bad rap from some CC posters. To be honest I wasn't disappointed.
  19. We just bought an annual policy through Allianz but we previously used https://www.insuremytrip.com/. They're a broker with multiple options through multiple companies.
  20. We're not close to being rich but we try to do 4 - 5 cruises a year in suites. We try to keep in the $5K to $7k ball park but I can see why some not so rich would go $20k for a suite for a special occasion. Especially if they only cruise once or twice a year.
  21. Make sure you have a couple beach towels in the cabin. We were in 8317 and were told by the cabin attendant that some mornings we'll wake to soot on the furniture. It wasn't every morning and he was always on top of it but he also kept us supplied with beach towels in case we wanted to sit out there before he got to it. It was never a real problem.
