There's a lot more to the DBP than just the booze and we use it all. We bought on our last cruise at $64 ppd and it was still a good value but we're close to forgoing it if it goes much higher.
Our last cruise in March was in an S1 and asked the butler to empty the fridge so we could fill it with water. He asked if I preferred beer and proceeded to fill it with Dogfish Head 90. He said we were entitled to everything but the liquor. Haven't had the same experience on other cruises.
My wife always brings her own but we got off Reflection last week and I don't remember someone NOT being outside the buffet with a squirt bottle in addition to the dispensers.
This is us. We used ride share all the time but when they started hitting them with the airport fee it wasn't worth the savings to wait especially in FLL. We just walk off and into a taxi.
We like both cruise lines equally but cruise experiences vary from ship to ship and week to week. On Reflection we experienced the most happy, upbeat, and helpful crew that we've seen in a few years. Sorry you didn't have the same experience.
I found out my ad blocker browser extension was causing this. Once I turned off the ad blocker for that site I was able to look at the offerings. Could be the problem or maybe not.
Sailed Oasis in January in an L1 and the Royal Up minimum bid for 2 bedroom AS was less than the drink package. We didn't bite because we really enjoy the ocean facing L1 but it probably could have been worth it economically.
Being from the northeast we like flying to the warmth and staying two nights before boarding. Between increases in flights, hotel, and cruise we need to rethink our vacation plans. We won't stop cruising but we maybe cutting back.
Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but during refueling all I've ever seen was a ban on smoking on that side of the ship. I've never heard of a ship wide ban but again, maybe I'm wrong.
