Princess Shareholder question for Aussies

If you have a downloaded copy on your computer you can just add your name to it as I did 9 years ago and update it regularly to the value of the shares and it has always worked -

Princess formal nights dress standard
windsor26 replied to Jean C's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
Which is VERY acceptable but I cringe when the board shorts and thongs appear in the dining room with a cap on formal nights and now the Maitre D does not seem to exist on the floor any more nothing is often said -
I have just posted this in ports of call but thought it good for this forum as well. Just used the Mercure Hotel in YORK STREET Sydney (there are lots of Mercures) It was very clean and comfortable Huge walk in shower and very pleasant staff. Restaurant available if required. A very good priced hotel The hotel is just 100 m to the left of the Burangaroo exit of Wynyard station and this is one stop before Circular Quay so VERY convenient for cruising. Not even too far to get a taxi for White Bay if that is your entry port.

At a question and answer session on Carnival The CD was asked why we had to have huge ships here that could not dock The reply given was that there were so many Australians and NZ trying to book the small ships were oversold therefore a larger ship was sent HOWEVER on the last 2 cruises on that ship we noted that there were several hundred USA cruisers who had a completely FREE holiday even gifted $500 or so obc for the casino AND free drinks throughout. So it does not compute This included very cheap cruise about $500 for 9 days inside and children under 12 free

Nor me but just noted it was available

They have had it on the last 3 Princess cruises and I think it was on the Carnival Splendor this year They also had lessons in towel animals

Thank you for the information Unfortunately due to overbooking and other excuses we have been left with a booking at the carlton Hotel which I m sure is lovely and is convenient also to MTR but we still may use the HoHo bus and taxis The Carlton is of course a great deal more expensive but hope it lives up to its Hype

Looking to cruise out of sydney
windsor26 replied to love to cruise 2017's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
Yes it was a shame but my dinner table of 8 happy, HAL lovers advised us that it was the worst cruise with HAL that they had had and not to let it colour our feelings about HAL but of course it did. The food was very bad One night we had all ordered creme brulle and as we all had our spoons sticking up in the air in them we sent them back - they were made with semolina!!! The first soup I had on the first day was like drinking sea water it was sooooo salty Never dared to try them again as I know what I am getting with Princess etc -

I am learning a little more every day I knew there was reason I don't cruise HAL apart from the poor cruise I had with them years ago -

In reply to what currency is on board the cruise ships If you use any of the Carnival cruise line companies like Princess and HAL it will be AUD with no extra gratuities on drinks etc. If you go RCI it will be US$ and you will pay tips for your room (which you do not on Carnival lines) -
Measuring COVID on board - NSW Health levels
windsor26 replied to Aussieflyer's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
Why would people not report their illness? We were not at all ill but due to the ship (Majestic) in January checking everyone DH tested positive on day 6 of the cruise so he isolated and so did I keeping him company (they asked if I wanted to go to another cabin) - we ate together in our room delicious food exactly what we ordered each meal and had 4 phone calls from the staff each day asking were we well; did we have our meals; were they ok; and did we want medical attention. We were given free internet for both of us - the TV has loads of channels; more than we have at home without pay to view, and our meals came with brandy and other drinks we ordered (free) Everyone was great BUT we had to make our own bed although linen towels etc were left at the door every day for us. Without being able to visit ports or the entertainment we did still enjoy the cruise AND just heard from Princess they have given us a future cruise credit of $90 per day each for the days we were isolated. Great service Thanks Princess. -
Good luck if stuck try feedback@princesscruises.com They seem to reply where other addresses ignore you

Thinking of buying Carnival stock ... some questions
windsor26 replied to 2aprilbabies's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
If you cruise a lot and use all Carnival companies it is worth buying stock just the `100 shares Since 2009 I have had my money back (1400 sterling pounds) about 7 times and still have the shares which - of course have lost value at present - but will bounce back eventually and I still have the value of th4e shares whenever I need to sell them it is a win win situation and at present the cost is half the normal one prior to covid losses -
