  1. Yes, "Join" is a bit of a misnomer, as you simply find it, then click on it to read or post. You can "Follow" it, so you are notified when new posts are added.
  2. But there is a difference between overblown expectations of a complainer and the failure to deliver their normal product by the company. Folks need to read marketing jargon as marketing jargon, not as a golden rule, particularly when it comes to subjective interpretations or experiences. So was the expectation flawed or the product?
  3. On the Cc board page, scroll down to Roll Calls. Click on the line, in this case, Oceania. Then click on your ship, and then scroll through or search for your cruise date. Maybe @Gracie115 could post the direct link.
  4. @jonthomasYes, Lyn is correct. I forgot about the Sirena which has a b2b: around Iceland then Iceland to Greenland to Edinburgh.
  5. Have you joined the Roll Call for your cruise? That might help you with your questions better than this generic O forum.
  6. Social media sites are magnets for negative posts. In spite of that, there have been numerous positive reviews recently, which you may have missed. Don't go on your cruise with negative attitude, as every liitle thing will annoy you and deepen your negativity. Go with an open mind and reasonable expectations and enjoy the experience. It won't be perfect, but neither are the experiences on Azamara or Viking Ocean.
  7. Same wine and beer selection plus a range premium spirits at bars and lounges throughout the day: If you search for beverage packages on the O website, you'll find: https://www.oceaniacruises.com/sites/default/files/2023-04/general-bar-menu-oceania.pdf and the prestige package includes these.
  8. But "Certain Limitations apply," so your cruise must have those limitations.
  9. The problem is that the number of folks who post on CC is miniscule to the number of pax actually sailing. So to them, it's a skewed demographics...same for all lines.
  10. We're also not happy with the new SimplyMore pricing, but I think you'll have a hard time finding a small ship, upscale line that doesn't build alcohol at some level and/or excursions at some level into its cruise price. There are one or two, but itineraies are limited.
  11. I think the booking engine will force reservations to be distributed over both segments, according to the allotments for each. So yes, as you say, one does get a jump on those on the second segment.
  12. Yes. Yes We use a small online, cruise only agency, and are very pleased. Select one that has a relationship with Viking and has experience booking with them. If you use a larger agency, make sure you have an agent who is dedicated to you and is your contact and advocate.
  13. If you can afford a PH on the small R ships (like Insignia), the showers are much larger
  14. I agree that open jaws are really best for intercontinental itineraries, but there still seems to be a savings for booking multicity on one ticket compared to the sum of 2 1-ways...at least the the Alaska Airlines example. But the savings is no where near the golden days case when round trip were cheaper than one-ways.
  15. @Sthrngary Gary, for comparison, for a multicity single ticket PHX-YVR then ANC-PHX, I quoted above, the fare is $657. If you booked them as 2 1-way tickets, the total would b $740. That's the comparison I was referring to.
  16. Update: I just priced this on Alaska Airlines a a single ticket. Would this not be considered open jaw. Or does the stop add enough miles to meet the requirement. Multi-city trip Economy 1 passenger $657 Lowest total price Selected flights Track prices Sun, Oct 87:10 AM – 11:58 AM AlaskaOperated by Horizon Air as Alaska Horizon 4 hr 48 min PHX–YVR 1 stop 45 min PDX 199 kg CO2 Avg emissions Thu, Oct 123:50 PM – 11:58 PM Alaska 7 hr 8 min ANC–PHX 1 stop 51 min SEA 242 kg CO2 -24% emissions
  17. We did that itinerary, but it was many years ago, so it may different now.
  18. Are you using the ship's "Cellular at Sea" cell service or are you close enough to land towers you can use your home service. Unless you have some special rate (rare but not impossible), "Cellular at Sea" look to be amazingly expensive, especially for data. Just curious.
  19. Yes, it refers to multiple destinations with a gap between airports. For example: outgoing Phoenix to Vancouver then return Anchorage to Phoenix on one ticket. You can have more than one open jaw on the same ticket.
  20. Instead of 2 x 1 way tickets, price an open jaw tickets, usually cheaper than 2 x 1 way.
  21. Maybe they should give everyone a name tag that says "I 💘 Oceania,"
  22. Actually we have made 2 insurance claims in the past 3 years. One was using cc insurance , one using our annual travel insurance. The word "no" never came up, and we were reimbursed without a hitch.
  23. Part 1: When SM came out, we asked our TA to price the new rates for 3 cruises booked under OLife, so we could compare $ for $ whether it made sense for us. We took into account the price of our OLife excursions, the cost of the basic beverage package included in SM and the cost of the second WiFi included with SM. We had some SBC included from O (not our TA's SBC) to fold into the calculation. Our TA found that in one case, we qualified for a new sale price, and the new price saved us several thousands of $, so we switched. In the cases of other 2, there was a loss, primarily because we would lose some bonus SBC from O, so we didn't switch. The important point here is our TA was a savvy agent who could lay out the difference. Part 2: I'm not sure exactly what you were trying to say, but under OLife you get a fixed number of included excursions which were included in the OLife fare and which were priced at $100 each above the cruise only fare. If you exceeded that number by enough to qualify to the 25% discount, it would apply to all. The ones selected for the OLife excursions counted towards the number needed for the discount. In the case of SM, you get a fixed $ amount to spend. If the number of excursions selected reach the minimum number, you would get a 25% discount on all selected. The fixed amount go towards the reduced total. Do that clarify it for you?
  24. Horizons is a lounge and Terrace is the buffet.
