  1. Are you saying that the Haven normally is a better experience than the Yacht Club?
  2. I know that some MSC drink packages include more than most NCL drink packages, for exampel drinks delivered to the cabin and the minibar. We cruised NCL until their prices become too high and the value for money too low. NCL wanted almost $8000 for a week in the Haven on the Epic in 2017 and the then brand new MSC Meraviglia costed less than $6000 in the Yacht Club.
  3. You are packing too little if you need to do laundry during the cruise.
  4. You will still get an embarkation time but it doesn't seem like they are enforcing it. We will embark the World Europa in two weeks and we have been given a time but we plan to arrive when we want to.
  5. It's almost impossible to take drinks from the lounge to the cabin yourself because if a butler see it they insist to deliver it for you!
  6. For me the ship is extra important when in Italy. I love their food but except for that I prefer to be on the ship and the italian food on MSC is rather good too!
  7. Do you know if it's possible to sleep four in any of the two cabins you are assigned? If yes, they will probably let all of you sleep in one of the cabins and you can use the second cabin for luggage and an extra bathroom. Which ship is it?
  8. The non-YC experience is probably not that bad, I haven't tried it, but the YC experience is that good! My wife shouldn't like an interior enough for us to book it but I could defenitely do it if I had to to be able to be in the YC. If my wife dies before me and I'm still healthy enough to cruise I might book interior YC. (If my wife had to choose between balcony outside the YC or interior in the YC she should choose interior in the YC but since we can afford a balcony in the YC that is what we book.)
  9. I'm not sure that this is correct in the Yacht Club! The service level is extremely high, I think. If you tell your butler, or any butler you see, that you will spend lots of time on your balcony and should appreciate (I don't mean tip a lot but of course they deserve a good tip!) if they come by sometimes and ask if you want anything, I'm sure that they will do that! Of course you can also use your phone and call them when you want something.
  10. I always want to embark as soon as possible. The first hours on the ship are the best and I can't wait!
  11. Depends on airline and class.
  12. I defenitely prefer Barcelona. One bad thing with embarking in Naples is that MSC gets there in the afternoon, at least now and also when we went there a few years ago. I should hate to embark that late!
  13. They are probably closed then because most people will soon have lunch so the demand for food is very low then, just my guess. Many in Europe, not here in Sweden, normally eat dinner late so maybe they also eat lunch later, defenitely not before noon. I'm only guessing!
  14. I paid a little more than $1000 in December 2019 for our MSCcruise in July. Most of that was deposit but insurence if we NEED to cancel was also included in that. I think that the non-refundable deposit is 15% of the cruisefare.
  15. Most Europeans can't handle your system, whatever it's called, but Google is our friend!
  16. 4 wheels are very good on even surface, for example at an airport. Very easy to handle on even surface.
  17. I understand your point, I just don't agree with it and that is okay. I'm also just pondering! Why cruise if what you want is the land part? I don't have the answer to that question, that's okay too!
  18. 16 inches is 40 centimeters so much bigger than the bag requirements.
  19. I think that is a very valid reason to go back to the ship early.
  20. And my point is that if you want the experiences ashore it should be cheaper to just go to the places you want to visit instead of taking a cruise. I'm sorry for this off topic discussion. To answer the op:s question: I haven't experienced any overnight stays in port because we prefer not to have that. If we ever do a world cruise I might appreciate overnight stays in big cities in Asia or Australia.
  21. But the limit för bags is 30*30*15 and I just assume that backpacks can't be bigger than that and that is small!
  22. And that makes sense, why not use something you have already paid for? As I said before, if I really wanted to go somewhere I should just go there and not on a cruise. I cruise because I like the cruiseexperience and the ports are of less interest for me. (Just out of curiosity I googled for weekend trips to Venice and from here two people can go there, flight+hotel, for less than $1000 so if I really wanted to go there I shouldn't book a cruise.)
  23. I reread your post and now understand that 4 wheels isn't the problem but the size of the wheels! I have never had a problem dragging them but understand what you mean.
