On the MSC website I don't see where you can book Yacht Club specifically. It seems to allow booking of a certain type of cabin but am not sure how you would book let's say an Inside Cabin with Yacht Club privileges. If one books a Suite does it automatically come with Yacht Club privilege?  I'm also understanding that Ocean View and Balcony cabins cannot be booked with Yacht Club privileges. A little confusing. Maybe you can clear this up for me.

Yacht Club is a separate category.  Within Yacht Club there are various types of cabins.  It is possible that the Yacht Club is sold out for the cruise you are viewing.  Only cabins on the Yacht Club decks are classified as Yacht Club.  Cabins on other decks are either Bella, Fantastica or Aurea no matter what type cabin.

How does one book an Ocean View Cabin with Yacht Club privileges. Or, let's say, what cabins qualify for Yacht Club Privileges if you know?  Very interesting, indeed.

Ocean view cabins in the Yacht Club start with a Deluxe Suite and up.  A Deluxe Suite is about the size of a Junior Suite on other lines.  There are also inside Yacht Club Suites.  Typically they are the on the top few decks forward.  The MSC website has a lot of information and pictures if you are interested.

  3. The Yacht Club is an area separate from the rest of the ship.  It has several size cabins.  The Yacht Club has it's own restaurant, buffet, pool, and lounge.  Drinks and many extras are included.

  4. Another cruise critic member has used a taxi.  Her advice is to put your luggage in the taxi and get in it before you tell the driver where you want to go.

I know there used to be a shuttle but I don't know if it still runs.  The trolley only goes to the last few terminals.

If possible, can you please report back on how it went when you return.  We are considering doing the same thing in January and my mother, who is 73, is coming.  She is pretty spry but may not be up to leaping over barriers hauling luggage.

If I do it, I will definitely report back.  If it's too hot or rainy, I'll grab a taxi.  Some others I know are taking a taxi.

Unless they've opened a sidewalk at terminal B to allow a straight path by the time you arrive, your walk will be closer to 1.5 miles from door to door if you need to walk around the construction. I just checked my GPS mileage from my last drive at the Port.

Thanks for the update.  I don't mind the walk if it is nice weather.  I may have to reconsider my plans.

Well, they are doing something to the staterooms - I just went to check the deck plan for deck 9, as that is where our cabins are, and the cabin I booked that supposedly has a sofabed no longer has one after the refurb. If you click back and forth between the two versions on the decks you can see the changes. As far as I can tell decks 9 and 10 are losing sofabed cabins, but decks 7, 8, 11, 12, and 14 are gaining sofabed cabins. Decks 3 and 6 look pretty much unchanged. I don't necessarily need the sofabed but I was hoping to have it as an option for my adult kids in case the separated twin beds were too small for them.

We had 2 cabins for 2 and a cabin for 3 booked on 9, for August, and it is now a cabin for 2.  RC moved all 3 of our cabins to 11.
