  1. From the RCCL FAQ's: All staterooms and suites have Royal King size beds which may be converted to two single beds. Some staterooms are configured in an L shape which prohibit the conversion of the twin beds into a Royal King size bed. Stateroom beds on all Royal Caribbean International ships are automatically configured together and should you wish to request for the beds to be separated, contact your travel advisor, or speak to your stateroom attendant upon arrival.
  2. Regarding the beverage packages, this is not an exact reference but the general guideline for their breakeven is 6-7 drinks per person per day, including port days. Base your anticipated consumption around that to determine the package value. Depending on that a la carte purchases can be a better value.
  3. As@mahasamatman indicates all you have to do is go to guest services for additional stateroom keys. But note they will only be activated to open the doors and will not carry and stateroom account privileges or ID verification. What you are suggesting is done frequently and will not affect your booking. Just notify the stateroom attendant so that he knows who is where for his service purposes.
  4. With the caveat that I am not on either of those cruises and therefore have no direct knowledge I can say that typically there would of course be a full refund of the cruise fare and other directly booked expenses (i.e. air booked through Celebrity, excursions, etc.). There may also be some amount of FCC in additional compensation from Celebrity as a cancelation gesture.
  5. It must be related to BCC bookings as we have accessed our booking on final payment day many times - either to make the final payment or confirm a previously posted one as received - and have never had it rebooked as a new booking at the current fare. That would be highly unusual with a standard booking IMO. And BTW IMO that likely would not be a Celebrity IT issue as they are not the booking party with BCC bookings.
  6. Eclipse in June was very good with a wide selection of offerings, full staff, and expected hours.
  7. That's a real shame and disappointment as those are definitely unique "bucket list" type cruises. But unfortunately historically it seems as though most propulsion issues that affect ship performance usually only can be repaired in dry dock. Hopefully a workable alternative sailing option can result for you and the rest.
  8. Well prior to the realignment that's pretty much how it was with D,D+, and P reciprocal with E, and visa vera. In your scenario they would have only adjusted with D+ / E+ reciprocity as the only change and as the P/Z ceiling. Not challenging, but I'm not sure what difference it would have made. From all I've heard, access to the individual lounges is on a sailing by sailing basis based on numbers booked, which at least with RCCL, is pretty much how it has always been. P only has lounge access based on space available on RCCL ships. I think that's the same with Celebrity. I guess the argument now is there will be less lounge opportunity for either based on the reciprocity with both. So restrict that benefit to alleviate that, but you can still have the reciprocity for the other benefits. Just like E+ is restricted on RCCL from the D+ specialty restaurant BOGO perk. JMO
  9. All staterooms have the option for twin beds to be combined to a queen. If there would be staterooms to accommodate a third by way of a Pullman, that would be in addition to the standard twins. But there would not be any stateroom with only 2 Pullmans.
  10. Sometimes they may hold spots for on board bookings, but otherwise if they are fully sold out you may just have to wait for cancelations to open up spots. Hard to predict that, however. If the tour operator has the resources to add a second one to the first, they may do that. I would suggest keep checking the planner for any changes.
  11. I never suggested it was your responsibility. I only suggested it was a direct course of action since nobody contacted you, and would have been a way to resolve it at the time and hopefully to your satisfaction. Especially since at the time you weren't satisfied with the actions of the subordinate with whom you were dealing. Just me, but I prefer to find an immediate resolution to an immediate issue rather than have it continue unresolved and impact my vacation and after. JMO And yes, your best option always is to take your money to another cruise line if the one on which you cruised disappointed you. I hope you enjoy your future cruises.
  12. You are correct in that more points within D+ allows certain perks. But I meant exclusions such as while Elite+ shares the same benefits as D+ when on RCCL, they don't have the D+ Specialty Restaurant BOGO available to them, etc. In other words not every perk within each tier is shared with the reciprocity.
  13. There are also exclusions at D+ and probably other tiers as well.
  14. Obviously too late now, but you should have just gone to Guest Services and asked to talk with the Hotel Director. They may have had you talk with a desk manager first to understand your issue, but you would have been able to talk in person with the HD. We have done this in the past when particular situations warranted it. And I certainly would have done this after not hearing from the HD with Francis's request. In particular, as you indicate, since you had other issues with Francis. Sorry, but that was an opportunity lost and IMO the most prudent way to have resolved your issue. The email also would likely fall on deaf ears as it is after the fact with no opportunity to have addressed it in real time. Hopefully a lesson learned.
  15. Curious situation. Did you speak with the Hotel Director? Everyone with the restaurant operations as well as Francis reports to them, and they would not want to have to explain actions such as you describe to the HD. The HD would also be the person who would correct the issue. It is not likely your concerns would have fallen on deaf ears with them.
  16. Not always. Typically after final payment fare decreases carry the caveat that it is for new bookings only.
  17. I have heard that but I use Chrome and don't have issues. Just my experience.
  18. Not being critical but I am a bit confused. I'm not sure I understand what additional information you are looking for. It seems like your question has been answered and it sounds like it is numbers dependent, which means that it can vary by ship and sailing. If that's correct, than your experience will be determined as your sailing approaches and you will be notified as to whether or not you can attend. Other's previous experience would have no bearing on yours, unless I am missing something.
  19. "Sales" run throughout the year, typically one after the other, with different wording and approaches to fares which almost always net about the same as the previous one. There are occasionally fare offerings that net out to be more attractive than another, which supports the suggestion of if you see a fare that is attractive and within your budget, book it. If lower fares are offered later, and prior to final pricing, you can contact whomever you book through and ask to have it repriced. But you are also protected from fare increases.
  20. Just checked the website and my planner for an upcoming cruise via my pc and the app and both are working fine without any issue. Also was on last night as well with no problems. Sorry, but as others indicate, I don't think its an RCCL IT or website issue as you suggest. JMO
  21. Interesting. We have done RCCL over Thanksgiving and don't recall seeing decorations being put up. We will be on Celebrity this Thanksgiving and will check, but also have not seen them there.
  22. It may be cruise line dependent as each may have different policies regarding this, and my experience has been with RCCL and Celebrity, but I would think it likely that they would at least be in the midst of decorating then if not completed.
  23. Please clarify. Do you mean within 48 hours of purchasing? If so, that is not correct. There is no time restriction on when you can cancel other than it needs to be 2 days prior to the departure date. You can cancel and repurchase at a lower price without penalty at anytime. Cancelations made on board for excursions typically need to be made 24-48 hours prior to the excursion departure and will be credited as an OBC.
