  1. Nothing more than my opinion. Not a judgement of world standards. And certainly not something to enter a debate about as it was only a personal comment regarding adult only cruises, of which the two I mentioned use 18 as their guideline.
  2. Most of the premium lines (Viking, Oceana, Regent, Azamara) will have dressier suggested wear. But they also will almost all be at a premium fare that may be higher than Cunard. Your price suggestion is totally subjective as fares will always be based on itinerary, ship, time of year, and length of cruise and will vary by those parameters. In other words that is not a viable way to gauge a cruise line as it is too fluid of a variable.
  3. And I believe Vision is on a southern Caribbean cruise from Baltimore at present. Clearly that ship will be diverted to another port for its return as the waterway into the harbor is likely going to be closed for quite some time. Perhaps Cape Liberty? I would have to believe immediate future sailings will be affected as well as all marine traffic will be interrupted to and from the port and inner harbor having to pass through the bridge area for access. But of singular importance is the concern for anyone on the bridge at the time and any others affected by this tragedy.
  4. The reserved seating for top tier C & A and others is fleet wide in our experience, and typically opens about 20 minutes prior to the show for those guests and is monitored by a crew member who checks your SeaPass card. The sections are often identified and cordoned off by a felt rope. Usually about 10 minutes prior to the show it opens for any guests for remaining seats. It has applied in our experience to the Ice Show, Main Theater, and Aqua Theater. On our Oasis NYE cruise the seating was center back last four rows or so in the Aqua Theater, end of rink front center two or three rows for the Ice Show, and main theater upstairs center back 4 or 5 rows. The locations have been similar on all of our applicable cruises, with the exception of the Ice Show which occasionally has been left side back corner. IMO these locations would generally have been our preferred seats as well if not reserved. Other's experience may vary.
  5. Understand your comments, but adult themed shows can appear on cruise lines that are not adult only. IMO adults only would simply mean no children and probably at least 18 or older as the minimum age. (In my mind it should be 21+). Such as is the case with Virgin Voyages and Viking Cruises, as two examples.
  6. I figured I was stating the obvious and was only seeking clarity for others was well as myself. When our family was young we cruised a lot with RCCL, moving to Celebrity as they became adults. I think Celebrity has a good product and hope your experience is singular and not becoming the norm. As mentioned, should they be changing with their VP experience there are a lot of very qualified TA's that would be able to assist. Hope your situation works out well for you. Enjoy Icon - I also would think it will be quite a change!
  7. Not picking on just one thing from your entire post, but for clarity I assume you meant Captains Club, not Crown & Anchor as that would be RCCL. I am also sorry to hear of your frustrations and wish I could offer support, but we have always used independent travel agents for our cruises, including Celebrity, with very good success, so I cannot offer any comparisons or suggestions of other VP's. If you like cruising with Celebrity, I would hope that this experience would not take you away from them as there are very good and capable travel agents - perhaps among those you reference for your other cruises - that could provide the service and attention you want.
  8. Maybe try this number - it is a separate customer service number v the reservations number: 1-800-280-3423 Linked reservations, while convenient once scheduled and on board, can be a bit cumbersome at times to manage pre-cruise.
  9. You can get any beverage from the Premium package in the Classic package for an upcharge per drink. Or you can just buy it a al carte without a package. JMO but I would hesitate to expect it to be included when the included beverages clearly state that it is not. Others may contradict this based on their experience, and maybe experiences may vary by region or ship to ship, etc., or maybe it would just be individual bartender experiences not following the packages. But I would hesitate to count on that, and I am not familiar with a separate included listing for non-US sailings. Maybe others can clarify. We have experienced situations where a requested beverage not specified in a package was denied without the upcharge.
  10. I believe that would be particular to the Radiance class ships as they are the ones that have the outdoor Windjammer Veranda area.
  11. We have several in our area that have more than one escape room each, and most are two rooms but some are one. One of the ones that is a single room is also one of the hardest IMO.
  12. Here is the menu. All items are priced individually. Note at the top right there is a single fixed option. The credit value for the package usually is more than what we would eat a la carte, and can be more than the fixed price. That is why we don't include it in our dining package, wanting instead to use it for the other fixed fare restaurants. (As the menu is a pdf you may have to download it to open it). izumi-menu-sample.pdf
  13. We did the escape room on Oasis and thought it was a lot of fun. It was a definite challenge and we did succeed. Several of the people we were with had never done one and also enjoyed it. Yes it is one room (a single converted space) and the crewmember is in with you. But she did not interfere and other land based escape rooms are single spaces. I think it is what you make of it. Different experiences I guess, all of which are subjective to the participant. Yes there was a fee and to my knowledge there always was.
  14. RCCL - All Radiance, Voyager, and Freedom class ships. You can also access the helipad on these ships. Oasis class ships are not open to the outside around the bow or to the helipad, following an enclosed course there, but do go completely around the ship.
  15. Yes - you could also try Cafe Latte-tudes on deck 5. Maybe Park Cafe on deck 11. And if you have access to either the Concierge Club or Crown Lounge on deck 13 they should have complimentary self serve machines 24/7.
  16. Nice thought, but I think you and I could both recite the answer verbatim - LOL. JMO.
  17. What it boils down to IMO is that a policy is only such if it is enforced. If it is not, then it is little more than a shallow gesture. And if it is to be enforced it should not be at the hands of the passengers. Otherwise why bother to publish it in the first place.
  18. And as long as we are on the subject of rules enforcement, I will add one more. On our Oasis NYE cruise this year we experienced people vaping in the Royal Promenade, the elevator bank lobby on our stateroom deck, and two separate groups in the Solarium. When another passenger in the Solarium mentioned this to a crewmember, a staff member eventually came and discussed it with one of the individuals who then left the area. What the one who complained was told was that it is difficult to enforce unless a staff member actually witness it. The other passenger indicated that there were bartenders and other staff wondering past these individuals in the Solarium while it was occurring but only responded when someone complained. Sad.
  19. I understand that. I have done that. But it is not the most comfortable thing to do when the families with their young children are sitting next to you in the Solarium hot tub and ignore your comments regarding the rules. Nor should the passengers ever be put into the position to feel they have to resolve this themselves by notifying staff of the issue. The stated rules should just be enforced - plain and simple. And historically RCCL doesn't typically do that - unless someone complains. And so it goes....
  20. Now if they would consistently show the same level of enforcement in the Solarium and related pool and hot tubs......
  21. Ours was Iberostar Rose Hall Suites in January. Ditto your comments.
  22. First of all the issues in Haiti have no impact on anything in Jamaica. That being said, I would not wander far off on my own in Jamaica but feel quite comfortable with ship based and local resort based excursions. Have been there many times docked at Ocho Rios, Falmouth, and Montego Bay. We were at Jamaica docked in Falmouth in January and did an AI day pass at a resort 20 minutes away by way of their shuttle and felt perfectly safe and would do so again without concern.
  23. Note that I am saying this is some years ago, but we have done bridge tours before as a C&A perk as well. Certainly things can and likely have changed as much has post-pandemic. Have not seen it offered on our recent cruises.
