  1. Same size. If you look at the amenities for each on the Azamara website there are some additions to the Plus cabins, but for me they aren't worth the trouble. Certainly the P2 and P3 category. I take position of cabin more seriously. You have to be careful what you are under. Phil

  4. If you are moving from Discoverer to Discoverer Plus and have only four Azamara cruises it's never going to be enough to meet the 50% that Riocca has correctly stated. Phil
  5. The only one I've seen is BBC World. No proper UK channels. It's always been more US focused, but even then it's limited. TV entertainment is not a strong point on Azamara, nor the TVs themselves. Which is ok for me. Phil

  8. It's a great trip. I'm like uktog. I'm not wanting to do expedition type cruises there. I like the comfort of a cruise ship and Azamara are perfect, especially if you have a captain like Johannes who involves you so much. My only comment having done Antarctica on Azamara. On a cold weather sailing it really highlights the shortcomings of the lack of inside venues. The pool deck is effectively out of commission. It gets busy inside. Phil

  10. I'm hoping that IF I get the chance and being in the UK it will be an easy phone call. Better gen up on an easy call to the US if I need that! The choice of room is an excellent reintroduction to the process. Phil

  12. I don't know what it looked like or who made it or the quality which is what you spoke of so I can't say. And it depends on what you like. I'm not into flowery Tommy Bahama shirts. I prefer Polo Ralph Lauren and as I said, I've found the to be very nice and good quality, but not cheap. But then they are in essence free. Phil
  13. I, like others on this thread have never had an issue with quality of the shirts. I've bought a few Polo Ralph Lauren's and they've all been excellent and still look good a few years later. They certainly last longer than a bottle of Taittinger! Not sure what make you bought or how many that's made you say that sweeping statement. Phil
  14. This just seems to be an ongoing issue and it never gets sorted. Trouble is, if you complain (either on the ship or here) you are viewed by some as a miserable and boring old fart who just likes to moan I'm very far from this in real life, but I (and many others it would seem) feel the volume is too loud. It has driven me away from performances. Which isn't right. We should all be able to go to them. We have paid to see the entertainment like everyone else. Phil
  15. That's a real result. As you say, all offers have previously stripped out. I will ask on Journey in a couple of weeks as I have three to usr (that have never been flagged by Azamara. Another story). Phil
  16. That is probably the Best of the Best dinner that they will hold in the Drawing Room on Quest. And it's much better than Chef's Table in my view. Phil
  17. The status hasn't been "lost", it's just the IT system is reporting incorrect information. So trying to prove isn't necessary. From posts here it has happened a lot. It happened to me. It seemed I had two Azamara Circle numbers allocated in the Sycamore transition and by following the request support they merged them and sorted it. But it took a while. Phil
  18. You aren't alone. There have been some IT issues that Azamara have had since the transfer of ownership from Royal Caribbean to Sycamore Partners. If you log into your account and click on your upcoming cruises there is a "request support" link which will enable you to raise the issues. Don't expect a quick reply however. It could be a few weeks. Phil

  21. Yes, he's been on one of my cruises too. He's excellent and I remember him being very friendly and approachable. Phil
  22. I loved this too. I went twice on a b2b and came home with a nice memory of pictures painted at the event in coffee (!) by the onboard artist Minori. It captured the event perfectly for me. Phil
  23. Johannes is a great communicator. Considering he is probably one of the more outwardly reserved of captains he hides his light under a bushel! Phil

  25. My money would be on having to divert (with all the itinerary changes subsequent that go with it). It doesn't seem to be calming down at all. Phil
