  1. I'll admit I do take a few of my favourite herbal tea bags that I know I can't get on the ship, but even then I often don't need them because the choice onboard is good. The ones I don't use go back in the case. Phil
  2. Totally. Why should I go and source my own mixers? When you go out and buy them and bring them back to the ship you then have to "take care of them". Silly. Phil
  3. I was on Journey in March in Japan. I've been on that ship many times and have always found her to be well maintained. No exception this time. She's 24 years old, but you'd not think it. I look forward to a new Azamara ship, not because the older ships look tatty, but rather to bring the experience up to date. Phil
  4. I favour those that are over Discoveries Bar area. Get a PDF deck plan diagram so you can line up what's above and below. Other side of Discoveries Bar (even numbers) is blank white. Crew area. I had noise in the middle of the night in one of those from crew laundry or kitchens or something. Phil
  5. Have you looked at the cabin spreadsheet? There is quite a bit of commentary about deck 6 standard balcony cabins. Some of the posts are from a while ago, but still hold good I think. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1jXskIfD3jAxIxyxk1z8qBYjJDi8g8GjNfkGJI2lMPEw/htmlview?pli=1 Phil
  6. And seeing as we aren't allowed to mention travel agents here it's very odd. Phil
  7. My other half who is tech savvy says it's within the Cruise Critic forum. That's why Adblocking it doesn't work. They better get rid of it. Hopefully an error. Phil
  8. You are not alone. It's infuriating. I have Adbloc on my iPhone, but it doesn't catch it. Would be grateful for admin input. Phil
  9. That's what it was! I saw it and had no idea what it was about. Phil
  10. I have no issue paying extra for a higher level of service. Perfectly reasonable. It's how things work in life. The new Azamara CEO intimated that free WiFi would be more widely available. I'm sure if this happens it will be the slower system with an option to pay extra for faster. I'm fine with that. If you offer faster for all then with the limits it slows it down for everyone. Phil
  11. I didn't know about it either, but read about it on this board. Once on the ship I could see it was advertised as available. Phil
  12. This was my experience too. I have used the standard package many, many times. This last time was the first try of paying extra and streaming was much better and it buffered less. For me it was worth it. Much less frustrating. Phil
  13. Sorry to hear that you had issues with the medical team onboard. I have always found them to be extremely professional. Not sure what to make of the rest of your post and what behaviour has other guests complaining about you, but I suspect that as is often the case there are two sides to every story. Hope you get better soon. Phil
  14. I've sailed with Carl, but my personal favourite hands down is Captain Johannes. Extremely customer focused. I guess we all have our favourite, but let's face it. They are all great. Phil
  15. Yes, Flåm was the other one I couldn't remember. Two very beautiful ports. Phil
  16. It's getting more and more restrictive. Geiranger Fjord has already gone and more to follow. You probably know more than I do! Phil
  17. I'm not sure about waiting for a deal. I did a Norway cruise up to Honningsvåg a few years ago and it was about the same price then. Never came down until quite close to sailing at which point I booked an inside cabin at a pretty good price. I really wanted to go so was happy with the deal and cabin. There are only a couple of these itineraries each year and that drives the pricing. I was so glad I booked the cruise. An amazing itinerary with sun up for 24 hours once above the Arctic Circle and with Norwegian Captain Johannes at the helm it was the icing on the cake. His schedule indicates he won't be doing Norway in 2025. Phil
  18. It's a non issue with Perry Golf. I've been on a few cruises as an 'ordinary' guest. Totally unobtrusive. They are very well organised and have an excellent rapport with Azamara. Phil
  19. I've missed a trick here. A couple of times. I never thought you could do this. Phil
  20. I spoke to that office a few months ago to book a cruise and was incredulous at the agent on the phone. Totally unprofessional. A couple of further interactions with the WGC office didn't help. Hopefully they are starting to get a grip now. Sounds like it. Phil
  21. I've never had a problem getting the hard shelled case under the bed, even large ones. You should be fine. Phil
  22. I was encouraged to learn from the new Azamara CEO that Azamazing Evenings are set to continue and not to worry. I've just had an email advising that my September cruise has been changed to an onboard event. Same as happened in March. Same as seems to be happening to a lot of people. I'm disappointed once more. Phil
  23. I totally agree. It just goes too far. Like one is trying to prove one's superior knowledge. And that chart is completely irrelevant as far as Azamara's market position goes. Phil
  24. I agree. Actions will speak louder than words for me. She's from Texas. Personally I like the way she speaks. Warm and natural. Phil
