  1. I had been logged into the Celebrity site under "my reservations". I had actually took a screen shot on my phone of my cart so I could quickly book once we boarded.

A snorkel trip was 49 then 69.75. The Falmouth Red Stripe Beach was $29 and onboard $39. Transfers quoted at $20 were $30. Another snorkel trip stayed the same.

We were on Dec 3 cruise and I booked only one excursion 4 months out when they ran a 1 week sale at 20% all excursions and Spec Dinning ! That one excursion turned out to be awful and they gave everyone back their $ and credited my account! That's why I do not book on board unless we have too!

  2. Just got our tickets for our Celebrity Reflection cruise, tickets say boarding at 2:30 is this something new? We have sailed on Reflection a couple of times and don't remember having a boarding time printed. Is this new.

Just on Reflection and nothing has changed. We got there around 9:45 A.M. and they started at the counter and security around 10:15. They boarded around 11:15 and it was no problem at all. The best boarding ever. By 1:00 no lines at all!Go whenever you want.

  3. Bob- so you did NOT book a specialty dining PRIOR to boarding ship or DID you get the specialty dining when you got on ship....

ie. If you purchase pkg, you cannot book the separate dining rooms that you want PRIOR to getting on the ship..then you need to book via the Maitre de for each specialty restaurant.

We have been on the Reflection 3 times and love it...Normally love Tuscan Grille the best but they are cutting down on cost and don't have the veal chop that my hubs loves so I changed it to Murano...We have eaten in Murano, Tuscan Grille, and Qsine..I am leaving off Qsine this time as I am tired of the menu...Wondered if the Lawn Grille or the Porch were worth it..The Porch is NO reservations and $30 pp ( which I would not use as part of any dining pkg since it is so much less than the fancy restaurants.

Hubs just decided to bring jacket since he knows guys normally wear one in Murano..and he is looking forward to it as I read him the menu...But the PORCH sure looking inviting.

give me a heads up on when and how you booked your specialty dining..ie prebuy a pkg and make reservations once on ship or buy each separately prior to boarding and pick your exact time..

    thx loads

I booked 3 specialty 4 months out when they offered the 20% off ! I did that because at the time you could only have a choice of your 1st night. The problem at that time was the times to eat on the package deals were 8:00 P.M. and after. When I looked at them at one of a time at regular price I had my choice of anytime I wanted. So with the 20% off it worked out fine for me with the discount. When we boarded that day they were offering 30% off any room that night so we booked Qusine. The other rooms I booked was Murano, Tuscan and lawn grille. The lawn grill we did not eat at because it is mostly fish items. It was never busy the whole cruise. The lawn grill was great and my wife cooked both of our meals with the chef which was great fun. I would suggest you do that for sure. It was agreat night outside also. Also, do the lunch there for $10 . it was real popular the whole week ! As far as jackets I noticed maybe 40% at dinner at night. For the first time I did not bring a jacket, tie or tux and was not at all out of place. I wore slacks and sport or dress shirts every night like most of the ship. Hardly anybody with a tux. As you know from the past there were many people selling the dinner pkgs around the ship on boarding day. I noticed that most of them were waiters with I-pads selling these pkgs and really lost at what they were doing. I want to Maurno's and the head man was at the desk and no one there. If you wait to sailing day I would go there instead of talking to the guys walking around.Booking early for me worked great and for a few $ more it was worth not dealing with it on sailing day. When are you going? I am booked on same ship Dec 8,2017 for 10 day southern> Going Aqua class this time but will still book 2 to 3 times other rooms! Bob

  4. The first night on our cruise was 30%. I guess it varies from week to week. They did not offer a 3 nite pkg on our cruise in Dec. Now everything is different starting the 1st. In reading the rules it looks like they book the first time for you weather its the 1st night or 2nd night. If you book dinner by dinner on your own it will cost you more {not that much}and you will find that all times are open to you since you are paying the normal amount. I booked all four nights seperate and got all the times I wanted which was 7:00 p.m. and it worked out great for us . Most of the shows for later in the evening started around 9 p.m. . You will find Murano is the best choice but all are very good. Quine was really good for a fusion type meal which I had never done until them. Feel free to ask me more ! Bob

I forgot to tell you that around the 4 month period before you sale they ran a 20% sale on all dinning and shore excursions which I took advantage of on the meal side and one excursion ! Bob

  5. Bob,

I just spoke to Celebrity..they explained the pkgs to me as follows: you pay for pkg and make reservation when you get ON THE SHIP...what if they don't have a time available that you want and the restaurant selection that you want?

I prebooked the MURANO for one nite since it is our anniversary...I know the 1st nite on board, all specialty restaurants are 50% off..

I wanted to do the 3 nite pkg but if I don't know where and what time I am dining, what good is that? I am a person who likes to plan everything out..

    Help please...

    Thx

  6. We had an overnight in St. Maarten a couple weeks ago. Since we were four adults we reserved a car in advance so we were off the ship and on the road within an hour of docking. First we headed for Maho beach to watch the airplanes. It was too late to see the huge planes land but there were some 737's so we had a great time for two hours. Then we took a leisurely drive to Grand Case, walked around and window shopped for awhile before having a fantastic dinner at La Villa. Finally we stopped to share a crepe from the stand in the parking lot before heading back to the ship around 9:30. The next morning we headed out fairly early for a beach day on Orient Beach. Rented chairs and umbrellas at Orange Fever, relaxed on the beach, watched the parasailing and other water sports, and had lunch until it was time to head back at 3. A perfect day.

Where did you park over night at the ship ?

  7. We were on her the week of 12/3 and had a 1A on deck 9 hump with the bigger balcony. The cabin was the best we have had. I loved the ship so much we booked Dec 8 2017 for 10 days Southern in Aqua this time. I had the same experience as you in the MDR and select dinning. We noticed the same as you about filling the table first before taking our orders. The big difference we had is we ate only twice for dinner and had the same table and staff and they were terrible. We did Spec. dinning 4 nights and we loved every room we ate in.I agree with you about the other items like the pool and the service on the ship ! We miss it already ! Bob

  8. We are cruising on the Equinox this May and are very sad to learn that the Ultimate Dining Package is being phased out. Can anyone who has recently been on the Equinox confirm that the UDP is no longer available? Our cruise planner shows that we can book specialty dining for all nights of our trip precruise. Do you know if these packages will be available for booking on embarkation day so we can pay with OBC?

The new pkgs take effect Jan 1st. We just got off the Reflection a couple of weeks ago and had a great time and loved the ship. We ate in 4 of the restaurants and they were all great. I booked the same ship on a 10 day southern next Dec and I am already looking at the pkgs. I found it was best to book as soon as you can because a lot of the good times to eat are gone by sailing time. I did not buy the 4 or 5 pkgs or spec. pkgs because they would only let you pick night 1 or 2 and the rest when you board. I knew if we did that all the goods time spots would be gone. I booked 4 months out one by one and got what I wanted on each venue. I payed about $80 more but it worked out great for us. The new pkgs deals are working out the same way from what I see. Also, the first night they offered 30% off on any venue on that night. Have a great time and feel free to ask me anything else if need be! Bob

  9. Just got off Reflection a couple of weeks ago and had a great time. Rather than book the pkgs deal we booked one by one. The reason I did that was I was able to get the times I wanted for each dinner. I payed about $80 more for 3 rooms but I got the times I wanted. At this late date you might have a tuff time getting what you want since a lot of people book 4 months out and its New Year. The first night they did offer 30% off on any room. If you pick Qusine ask for Johnthan and he will get you the time you want. He is the lead waiter in that room. We ran into him on the dock boarding and he took care of us with setting up the time and was the best server ! Have a great time!

  10. My wife and I got off the Reflection a couple of weeks ago and was at Mia to fly home and ran into Capt. Kate and her husband {and cat I might add} flying home on the same flight. It turns out she lives right near us. Had a great time with them and a really nice person !

  11. Thank you all!! We have decided to go with 10am to be on the safe side.

We don't want to rush off the ship just to sit in an airport. Going to the beach isn't worth it to us as it will make for an uncomfortable flight home. Self disembarkation also isn't an option as my grandmother and great aunt definitely cannot. Nor can my brother with his daughter. We prefer to get breakfast in the dining room and then get off around 9ish - it seems to be our "go to". So it sounds like luggage and customs seem to take about 45 minutes so the 10am will work.

    Thanks again!

We got off Dec 10 and left ship at 9:30 and was done by 10:10 and was on the street !

  12. Yes, I was just in that same cruise this past week, and your experiences matched mine completely. I finally did get a heated bed one day for a short while. It was a waste of OBC that could have been "wasted" more productively or even added as generous tips after meals. I also agree that the receptionists were very rude and not concerned in the least about haw satisfied their customers were. Other than that, the cruise on the Reflection was wonderful! I think in the future I would just check out how the day was going in the Persian gardens before choosing if I wanted to pay to use it for the day. The infrared sauna in the restroom changing area was very good and the heated tiled beds were not a necessity - nice, but mostly sales hype. So many other wonderful places to enjoy on the Reflection.

To add insult to what happened to both of you I was on the ship Dec 3-10 and I payed $140 for two. I asked for me first and they told me $70 P.P. I would agree with you that she had no personality and her and the rest never smiled once or said anything to me. We never had a problem with getting beds . We usually want around 8 to 10 in the morning and 4 to 6 in the afternoon. The 'Enclave ' on princess was hand down better but I payed $75 3 years ago and now it is $199 p.p. which i think someone should be in jail charging that price. Over all I loved the ship and booked again for a 10 day this time next year on the Reflection ! Bob

  13. My brother and his wife and 6 other couples are going next week on 14 day holiday cruise. They all have higher end suites w/ butler. I understand the pricing is over $20,000 w/air , limo and the works. He did this last year on another higher end ship with the same couples. I am sticking with Celebrity , if I spent that kind of $, I would have a hard time enjoying the cruise!

  14. We just got off last week and had a great time.We loved it so much we booked the Reflection on a 10 day next Dec. My wife had 2 martine's in Qsine and they did not charge us anything and we had the classic pkg.I thought the drinks are more than the $9 limit pkg. As far as transportation we stayed near the airport and used Lyft to and back and the trip was $13.50 ea way plus tip for us. They came within 5 min ea time. That is usually a $27 to $32 plus tip by cab over the years! The two companies are killing cabs all over the country right now. Usually if you take a hotel shuttle they stop at every ship and the Reflection is docked at 'G' which is at the front which makes it the last stop !

  15. Just got off of the Reflection last week and had a great time. This was our first on Celebrity and I loved it so much we booked a 14 day Southern next year. We never had a problem with lounges at the pool but we like to sit on second deck. We ate Spec. dinning 4 days and really loved every venure we ate at. We ate in the dinning room twice and did not like the choices or the service. I ate lunch once and not much of a choice of meals. The buffet was o.k. but not real great for us ! That was the only negative for us but we loved the ship! Bob
