  1. Yes....most likely inventory. Our sailing has only a Celebrity Suite, a Sky and an Aqua available. And priced very high to bid.
  2. Maybe that's why. We're Elite plus...maybe they think they have us where they want us...sailing with them. You being a newbie...perhaps encouraging you to stay with them as long as us?
  3. I've never heard of a discount to bid. Do you know how you qualified for that?
  4. We were charged the extra gratuities at the same time the move up bid cost was deducted from Visa and yes, you're only charged the difference between what you've paid for your original cabin. We've never bid max for any suite, (bid twice, succeeded twice) but if you reallllly want it, no doubt they'll be happy to give it to you. Very few suites available on our Silhouette sailing so we don't expect to win the bid this time.
  5. And I say....each poster seems to want to up the ante on the prior poster proving they're smarter, funnier, wittier, more irate and it goes downhill from there. Doesn't seem possible to me that our cruising experience is ruined by a 'cookie charge' no one is forcing them to purchase, and projecting that to future cuts which will really diminish that experience to the point of no return. BTW...I've read here in the not-so-recent past from some posters it's their "last cruise on X" . They're still posting here and cruising with X. Something must be going ok for them or is it chic to be disagreeable and part of the crowd. I do have 'change' issues...like menu choice, quality of food, cruise cancellations. IMO these are worth registering with those who can do something about them (or not, then it's up to me to sail with them... or not).
  6. We were able to change cabins after winning the bid. Called the number on the bid confirming email after checking which cabins in that category were still open (if not on X site, then google "scanning the seas"). They were happy to make the change for us.
  7. Good message...thanks for starting the poll and providing the feedback....👍
  8. I can't say my standards relate to having chocolates on my pillow, but complaining about not having certainly would lower them.
  9. This will be an unpopular opinion.... I expect to be 🔥. There have been changes in the past, changes now, and will be more in the future. Any change seems to elicit a strong response on CC whether deserved or not and really takes on a life. This thread is now 15 pages over a cookies charge (go across to Al Bacio (sp?), to the OV, or ask your butler team to make the long walk for you) and/or their mini-bar water and drinks being charged to them in their SUITE. And actually visiting the Retreat Lounge for maxi water bottles so they can get them free. If one has the where-with-all to afford these suites, why would those few extra $$s be worthy of so many complaints? It's the cost of sailing now. If you want these food and drink items FREE make it known to the cruise line en masse. I'm sure they'd up the cost even more to oblige those few complaining and then all others sailing will pay more as well. Forgive me for saying....this seems to me to be a very petty topic IMHO.
  10. Just booking Marina and I read an article that the hump cabins were larger, or maybe it was balconies? I checked the O deck plans and they all look the same dimensions.
  11. LTH 28 answered...no confusion, but thanks for trying to point me in the right direction. BTW...do you know which A1 cabins on Marina are hump cabins? or are they PH?
  12. Or...change to another cruise line is an option. I'm 99% there.
  13. Yes, it must have been the Canadian forum....not sure but nice to talk again. I know you mentioned how much you enjoyed O so I directed my questions primarily to you as someone very informed.
  14. I think I know you haven't been on X....did we talk about you living near London? maybe I have the wrong poster. But thanks for your response.
  15. I should add....ALL opinions welcome. After 30 yrs with Celebrity it's a big change to consider going to Oceaia.
  16. EWWWW! What if there are NO port days?? Oh...maybe the hot tub?? Reason why we don't use them....😉
  17. It would be helpful to me (a 'maybe' O future cruiser) to know the value in O's excursions? Do you have a choice between some of the ports or does O 'simply' post what the excursion of the day is? The $1000 value attached to my potential cruise doesn't explain. If my DH cannot do a walking tour can any of that $1000 be applied to another shipboard offering?
  18. Good morning LHT28....we've spoken on occasion via the X site...can you help me with our decision to possibly move over to O? I'm reading this thread with interest re the 'simply more' program. Sounds good to me but I have questions. Sorry if I'm being intrusive, but I'm comparing with Celebrity AI; do you know: What the beverage offering includes? I see here it's champagne and wine...no beer? At one time I think the pkg was only to be used during dinner and lunch no other time? Gratuities not included Is wifi included? What is it you will be missing with this new program?
  19. In the past we have not had our breakfast set up WITH a table covering, but if asked, I'm sure he would have done so. He set the table nicely and we didn't have to pick it up off the tray and do so ourselves. Hopefully this will still be the practice. I brought my own cloth however, for those special (to us) occasions which called for it IMO. 😉
  20. I should add to this.....we'd never book a 9:30am flight....and that is with a ship port arrival around 5am...so with an 8am arrival (if that's truly when the ship does come in) is just tooooo close to push it.
  21. Just a thought.....is it possible that cutting back the suite butlers and moving them to the short staffed cabin attendants is a bona fide solution? Many on this forum have indicated they seldom called on their butler in SS class.
  22. that's the flight we always book...no problem making it. If you're a little nervous about the timing, let your butler (team) know you want an early disembarkation.
