  1. "Iron fist in a velvet glove" IMO does not mean hard and cold in action...warm and fuzzy in word. In business life that phase was applied to me...the intent was 'you get things done, but in doing so, you're polite and caring'. Guess anyone can interpret these sayings according to their own life experiences.
  2. We were charged on our Visa for the extra cost of gratuities at the same time the Move Up $$s were charged.
  3. Good to know. If it's locked, you'll probably see the charge on your Visa before receiving an email confirming....at least that's how we found out on two occasions.
  4. I had a replacement FCC immediately transferred to a cruise by the Engagement Centre rep when X cancelled an Apex cruise. If they're really wanting the 16th, and the FCC has been created, try asking if the FCC can be applied. Or does it depend on insurance payout which could take a while?
  5. I believe you're referring to the Infinite cabins...if so...I agree.
  6. No email...did a search. However, not that important to me...most of the questions mentioned here I could have answered logically myself. It's an information opportunity for X and placebo answers for us.
  7. I didn't get the email there was a webinar....so no opportunity to ask questions. I indicate on my profile I will accept X emails. I was wondering if this was restricted to TAs?
  8. I agree with you and you shouldn't apologize for your diet. I just looked at the Blu menu for our sailing date...would have had a poor choice most nights. I don't eat fish or shellfish...no pork, lamb, veal. Beef and white meat chicken or pastas...but I LOVE SAUCES (la sauce c'est tout) and well prepared and presented dishes....so that would entice me....maybe. Just because someone prefers to dine healthily, exercises, enjoys the spa, and would like to try Blu...doesn't mean they have to be satisfied with a few menu choices, so Aqua would disappoint me in that area. Good to know the MDR menu is available.
  9. If accepted they take the additional gratuities and your move up $$s on your Visa card at the same time. Sometimes the IT staff will upgrade you to Premium WiFi if you ask.
  10. We have a 'nice' car and leave it with a Valet parking official at the Terminal door. No luggage to deal with at the garage across the street, parked under cover, and safe with security. Costs more $$s but worth it to us. Considering the security and ease of drop off and pick up we build this into the total cost of our vacation.
  11. I hope posters aren't misled and expecting the helipad experience because of their cabin or captains club class...in the past, the helipad was an invitation, not necessarily to all concierge, elite, etc.
  12. Not worth paying any charge for sail away...if not invited it becomes a commercial payout like an excursion, not a lovely experience. Wish the poster would provide cost and ship.
  13. We enjoyed an Equinox sail away some years ago out of Venice when they slowly moved along the harbour and out to sea.....so the view was wonderful. IMO it was a lovely experience. Stopped now as the ships can't go through and the port for Venice is Ravenna. Invited another time but wind prevented and it was cancelled. Another invite was in the Caribbean... so they're still happening. Each time wine and apps were served....just made it a little nicer. Didn't go the last time we were invited. Can't duplicate the Venice sail away in our mind.
  14. Checked Porter for Nov. 19 date...they fly from Toronto on Sunday only it seems with a stop in Montreal for a loooooong layover. Won't work for us. Also not much is included in their airfare and more expensive. We haven't had any problem with AC and the only concern this time is a potential strike.
  15. Should work if you highlight the section and hit underline again. Just did so on your post and deleted it...... hit it twice so don't know if just once would have worked.
  16. Toronto (where I was born) is a beautiful city.....very very big now with the ups and downs of a metropolis. Terrific theatre, many high end restaurants, and quite a busy commercial district downtown. Have you any plans for your stay or is it R&R? You're a distance from the waterfront but maybe you've seen enough water....LOL...Lovely B&B.
  17. Wow! and you weren't even on your honeymoon....do we share an opinion on the 'state' of the rooms? We crossed the border the next day and finished our honeymoon at the Sheraton which was nicer!
  18. if you can do Canadian winters....the falls are stunning in ice and lights.
  19. Our honeymoon location as well....and...we stayed at the Honeymoon Hotel......not the most lovely spot...LOL, but DH somehow found it (no internet then) all by his 19 year old self and was proud of it. We tried to find it for a special anniversary but no luck, torn down!
