  1. I should have said the 'specialty dining rooms' seemed quite small and dark. Maybe candle lit would make a difference. The main dining room looked quite like other lines, but with a low ceiling (apparently).
  2. We're researching other lines for comparison to our favourite....X. Looking through the O site there were photos of their dining rooms. Ship was the Marina (1250? passengers) so it may be different on the new Vista. The rooms had a very small capacity, dark with heavy furnishings, so it didn't appeal. The buffet area looked like other lines and I didn't see any access to dining outside as you can off the OV. I'm told you make a reservation for specialties and they may go to the higher suites before other classes. Not many photos of the actual food presentation. One poster mentioned the specialty restaurants have the best offerings, but the main dining room is no different than other lines in quality or presentation. If someone has switched from X to Marina I'd love to hear their opinion - positive and negative...re food or experience onboard.
  3. That's amazing...you can function next day so well and walk 18K steps with only 6 hrs sleep? Must be a very solid, refreshing 6 hrs! BTW...I love your photo journey with little captions....the old saying 'a picture's worth a 1000 words' holds true here. Also, we've been on the Silhouette several times and never found these little sitting alcoves and front stairs to another forward sitting area. We're onboard in Nov....will have to extend my walks to find these areas. It's a shame this ship is going to 3-4 night cruises. There's very little left for cruisers like me who enjoy 10-14 nights on S class. Even 7 nights there's little choice. We're avoiding E class and the lack of balconies.
  4. Nexus is worth it even if travelling once a year as we do generally. Little expense/time output for the benefit at the airport.
  5. Even if they DO choose the E class..maybe they'd want longer cruises? Even B2B 7 day are repeat destinations.
  6. Thx again....but...this really changes our direction for 2024. Only options seem to be Eclipse, Constellation, and possibly Reflection....which we've done more times than enough. Will probably have to research another cruise line.
  7. thank you! Would really like to see the rest of that schedule as it applies to the other S class ships to plan 2024-5 cruising in the Caribbean. Hopefully there's more options particularly 10-14 nights.
  8. Do you have a schedule of ships in the Caribbean for 2024/5? Seems odd the Silhouette will only do 3-4 cruises....will they extend the E class ships nights at sea and cut back on S class?
  9. Had that situation, called guest services, they sent Security and they were warned not to cause this problem again and if they did, they would be removed at the next port. Quiet after that and they weren't unfriendly with us either. Most likely didn't know who complained as it could have been up, down or beside them that reported it.
  10. In our golf club, no visors in dining rooms and men/ladies remove baseball caps. I've never seen a visor worn in the X dining rooms.
  11. And very noisy for anyone in the near (or far) proximity.
  12. yes....under manage your reservation on the website, there's a choice for beds together or apart. Rounded end isn't a problem.
  13. that must have been some excursion or was it martini bar overload....🤔
  14. Did you go elsewhere or keep your seat? I might not have been very patient with their comments.
  15. Have you driven to London before? If not, you may find it a long drive; you may want to build in some time prior to flight. We've travelled that way to get to a marina where my son kept his 'boat'...it was an awkward drive, although farther down than Tillsonburg. 🤔. Sorry....I just re-read your note and saw you lived near the M Mall so are familiar with London and the drive to your 'new' location.
  16. Not nearly the same neighbourhood ....You're a fair distance away.......We're in NW London itself.
  17. Understood. Enjoy your cruise fellow Londoner! Sounds like a very different itinerary. You'll like going out of London, it's small and quick. Wouldn't it be a coincidence if we lived in the same neighbourhood 🤔?
  18. If we had a 4 hr layover, DH would drive home also, however traffic tie ups depending on time of day may be a problem usually around the airport area. Are you going to Miami and not NYC?
  19. Which I why I don't use hot tubs...some take their daily bath 😕 (without soap ) in them.
  20. We only flew WJ once...going out was fine...coming home a nightmare in terminal 3 Pearson...so no more WJ for us. Re AC.....In past years, AC had 3 flights per day out and into London (university city with students/staff and business folks for Toronto meetings). One flight in the afternoon outbound doesn't work unless there's a hotel room involved night before either pre or post flight. So the airlines are cutting out the smaller markets in many regions and most likely forcing local residents to drive into Toronto or closest major city if the flight timing doesn't work for them. In our case, we don't mind the afternoon flight connecting in YYZ, arriving in FLL early evening, and having a nice day in Florida before the cruise. Actually we're booking 2 hotel nights and tacking it on to our vacation expense. 😁
  21. Agree...living in London it's a cab drive to the airport...however, presently there's only one flight out a day to Toronto so in bad weather we cross our fingers. Being a smaller airport, cancellations are well known by residents in winter months. We have driven in day before and stayed at the Airport Sheraton using their valet parking for early morning flights which does provide peace of mind. OP seems to have considered these options.
  22. I had the same response to his/her query in post #5. From his/her reply to me he's tried this and message was "within 21 days to bid" as others have said. Fine print does say, however..."on eligible cruises". Some are able to access sooner and others not. My ability to bid was approx 6 weeks prior to sailing date on 2 occasions....no idea why it was earlier than the program date stipulated.
  23. Your 2nd post told me to check post #6...I was answering post #5 not #6 as I hadn't seen that yet and was only trying to help. Sorry if "I" was misunderstood. Seems some have to wait for 21 days and others don't. Must be a reason none of us see as logical.
