  1. Follow up......my CVP just told me 'it's in the mail'..LOL. The refund was cleared and applied to my credit card yesterday, so it should show up tomorrow. Took a while as there were accounting 'complications'. Thought I should let the thread know.
  2. I'd like to see a 'good flash sale' also....price has remained the same for months and it's definitely too high. Can do better paying as we go IMO.
  3. We cancelled a cruise just short of 2 months ago....no refund yet. After 4 weeks I sent weekly emails to our CVP who 'investigated'. Keep hearing it'll be another few days. Don't blame the call centre, but do blame Accounting or whomever it is that has the 'refund' responsibility. Guess it's time to use the 'executive' email again...which has responded quickly in the past. FYI....the call centre has existed for a year or more but has changed locations a few times.
  4. Mea culpa....quote from OP...."an upgrade to the premium beverages". I took it to mean (in my way of speaking) the OP was looking to upgrade premium pkg....seems it's possible to misinterpret even the most innocent remarks....lesson to self...look at both sides of a comment OR issue.... Both may be correct in a manner of speaking....😉.
  5. Do you mean upgrade FROM Classic TO Premium? I didn't think it was possible to upgrade Premium.
  6. Sorry...your comment IS serious, I just can't help visualizing NOT dressing for dinner at home...DH would think I've gone off the rails 😉.....still chuckling! 😄
  7. Does this apply to we 'ladies'? 😉
  8. Edit: re my comment 'moving on after refusal'. In re-thinking, I don't believe it would be possible, as the $$s are deducted from your Visa immediately after you're accepted and synced or before you're notified. Doubt very much X would refund your move up payment.
  9. We 'moved up' and cabin wasn't in a good location; called the number on the acceptance email and they let us know which in the category were also available...we had our choice. Not that many 'good' cabins but someone must have cancelled or moved up themselves so we were lucky in our choice. Not sure about the refusal but might be the same. The company will just 'move' on to the next in line...LOL.
  10. We have always booked concierge...just a higher deck and sometimes better located cabins....unless we book SV or a suite........but I'm seriously asking myself why?? More expensive than verandah but same size cabin, just on lower decks. No perks worth mentioning unless you consider a pricey embarkation lunch and seminar worth it. Never had any need for the concierge. All beds convert to twins.
  11. That's terrible you dined in the OV every night! I've never heard of someone being turned away from the MDR. If no reservation (Anytime Dining) there would be a waiting time and a buzzer when your table was ready. The maitre d' would have been a big help if he was approached. Also MDR menu wouldn't be available in the buffet but items were reduced for a period; posters have mentioned there are more choices now.
  12. Might as well have worn them....same thing....😉
  13. Under Manage Your Reservation and Dining Time you can wait list your preference. We have Anytime, so that is greyed out.
  14. Do you know where can you get fresh orange juice to take back to cabin .... not the beverage type out of the machine. I assume this would be at cost?
  15. haha....what is 'standard'? Guess he's in shape for the shape he's in....😉. I shouldn't have butted into this thread and asked about the store for shorts, etc....which is for his DW (me)...I've been to the mall in the past and really didn't find what I was looking for. Will try the hotel at your good suggestion for what clothing stores are nearby. Not a necessity, just an excuse to shop for what Florida can offer in the way of summer clothing and most likely has more choice than in our area of Canada.
  16. Thanks for the info. We're arriving a day ahead and I wondered if there was a shop nearby the port for shorts, etc. I'll google both stores for address.
  17. Seems you had the situation well in hand. I wonder how it will work with DH using a scooter? Things I hadn't though of, carpeting for one. All going to be new to me...I am the 'pusher' in the airport etc (wheelchair) but for the first time on this cruise he's 'manning' it himself in a scooter.
  18. Wheeled cases have been our saviour! no concerns except when lifting them onto the weigh scale at the airport....😉
  19. Is the Nautica drawer space larger than Vista? I know it's an older ship but is it totally refurbed? Was A1 a disappointment to you? Never sailed on O, several on other lines, and would like to take our '1st' on O and thought of Marina for itinerary (which I'm reading is the only O ship not refurbished).
  20. Not just on O.....read other boards and you'll hear it over and over from some cruisers.
  21. You may be right...but IMO, sometimes you do something so many times that any change is a good one....that apples to sailing a line as well. There are 'jumpers'...and I may be one in the near future...but reading from the CC Celebrity forum, it's generally long term X sailors who may be bored with the offering, or not serviced as well as they feel they should be for their long term loyalty, or are looking for what may be a better experience for the $..or, most of all, just a change from the overly familiar. I see many of the same complaints here and on other boards as I see on Celebrity's. Comme ci, comme ca.
  22. We were pleased with our cabin, although the verandah is quite a bit slimmer than I thought it should be for a suite (compared with a corner S1...now named SS?).
  23. We were in 2128 Equinox...no noise at all. Perhaps Eclipse and Equinox cabins are numbered differently?
