May I ask for prayers for DH's 89 year old sister? We have just learned that tests done yesterday show that the malignant melanoma found in a mole is evident elsewhere. The upcoming mole removal has changed to a much more invasive surgery and moved up to Monday. What was worrisome is now a very grave concern.

(Note: This is DH's sister whose son had the horrid lawn mowing accident.)

    All prayers are greatly appreciated,

    -Melisa

Good morning all. While I truly appreciate bees since without them our garden would not produce its bounty, yesterday was a bad day for one of our DDs as she got stung just above the eye while bike riding when a bee got caught between her helmet and her sunglasses. Will see her later today and hope the swelling has gone down.

it has been so dry here in Windsor that we have had virtually no mosquitoes this year. While the no mosquitoes is good, the so dry is not. We have huge cracks in the lawn (we don’t water the grass preferring to use the water for the garden). Rain promised today and for the next three days but so far the forecasts have not been accurate.

we will be celebrating DH’s birthday(actual on Monday) today so I actually hope it doesn’t rain, at least until after supper. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Prayers where needed and will hoist a glass in celebration later for those celebrating.

Wishing  your  DH a very  happy  Birthday.

Good late morning from a sunny 20°C here.

Thank you for today's daily and fleet reports Rich.

Honey bees are very important and why we have yellow rods flowers in my late parents memory garden as they love them.

    I detest mosquitoes.

    A very good quote.

Not sure about today's food and drink.

We have been to Nassau during a Bahamas cruise on Enchantment of the seas.

Prayers for everyone who is unwell.

On Monday 22nd it will be our 41st wedding anniversary.

    Take care.

    Graham.

I wish  you  and  Pauline a  wonderful Anniversary and many  many

Yesterday we visited Geriranger, Norway and it’s magnificent fjords and mountains! Absolutely one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. We took in all the iconic vistas on a private tour of just me, Sue and her identical twin Barb.

No service in the fjords so trying to post a day late. Today we were in Bergen and had another private tour but it was a rainy day and didn’t take many photos but it was still beautiful. Tomorrow is a sea day then Rotterdam where Sue and I will stay on for another week but Barb will be flying home as she has another cruise to Alaska coming up soon.

    Life is good!

    Good afternoon.

It is currently 67°F and sunny.

I had a physio appointment this morning analysing my knee and hip joints.

It was interesting to see the x-rays and having them explained to me.

Thank you Rich for today's daily and fleet reports.

Thank you Roy for today's lists.

I am resting now after doing the exercises recommend at the physio session earlier.

Nice food but not sure about the drink.

I hope everyone is safe and well.

    Take care...

    Graham.

Hope  everything turn out  good  for  you with  the physio.

Good morning, thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily!  I've always been financially aware - not always financially happy, but definitely aware.  Bless the Navajo Code Talkers.  Never played whiffle ball.

Well apparently misery loves company . . .    Yesterday it felt like I was coming down with a cold, so I tested - negative - yay!  But by 6PM last evening it felt like I'd been hit by a truck.  I was in bed by 7 and spent a full 12 hours there.  I got up this morning and tested again. Positive.  Oh joy.

I don't care for takoyaki with octopus, but I'm sure it would be good with shrimp, however, I don't feel like eating anything right now.  I'm glad I've got chicken soup, salmon and a whole bunch of other things in the fridge because DH and our student are going to be on their own today.  I'm going back to bed.

Oh, DH doesn't qualify for Paxlovid as he isn't considered high risk, so he's just going to have to ride it out as well.

    Take care everyone.

    Get  well soon.

I'm really sorry to hear Tana has a rebound case of Covid!  That's just what she and everyone else did not need!  I agree you and your DD are probably still in need of extra rest so perhaps you can get that person for the night shift so you can both get your rest.  I will pray extra hard for Tana that she recovers quickly from this rebound case.  Hugs to all of you!

I had mentioned that I had been to Buenos Aires several times and that it was the gateway to Iguazu falls.  In 2017 I did one of my craziest combinations sailing Crystal Serenity Buenos Aires to Rio, flying back to BA (my only time ever on Emirates), and then 5 days later boarded Zaandam to San Diego.

In 2016 I had sailed Crystal Symphony Buenos Aires to Miami, and for the segment from Valparaizo to Miami I met a lady who did not fly.  She had sailed QM2 New York to Rio, toured South America and returned on Symphony, and she described the bus system to me.  The buses in Brazil have luxury sections that are very much like business class on airplanes including flat beds and onboard meals.  I was interested and found a tour from Buenos Aires to Iguazu using the buses and it was a good fit for my time between Serenity and Zaandam.  I boarded the bus:

    mybus.jpg

in the evening (the sleeping seats were on the top deck) and when the time came the seat became a bed:

We arrived in Iguazu the next day and toured the Brazilian side of the falls the following day:

Good Morning from a warm and sunny day at the beach

I just bought new underwear for DH,DD and myself for our upcoming trip.  So good to celebrate. Never cared for beer and have not had an oyster in a long time, although I do like them.

My eye shot was bothersome yesterday. My eye ran like a river all day. Does that sometimes. So I was in wearing sunglasses with the shades down all day. Fine today!

Today is our 44rth wedding anniversary.  Where did the years go? We are going out to a late lunch this afternoon in between the lunch and dinner crowds.  We try to avoid crowds as much as we can. It is outside so it will be nice.

Golf tomorrow morning. We will be first off so hopefully there will be a little breeze. Havent played all week which is very unusual.

        Have a wonderful weekend.

    Stay safe and enjoy today

        Charlene

    Happy aniversary and  many  more.

It was a lot cooler and overcast today but we saw and experienced a lot. Saw many familiar sights in Skye but we also visited the small Isle of Rassie with it’s 160 residence. One lane roads high above offered spectacular views and Brochal Castle ruins.Rassie Distillary provided us some nice whisky and gin tastings and lunch at Rassie House.

Tonight we are in Uig and tomorrow we will be taking the ferry to Harris.

Time for some down time before dinner.

Good Morning to everyone from a warm and sunny day at the beach

The beginning of a new month. It is now 22 days away from check in  ( and 67 days until sailing)! Can you tell I am excited.

Todays quote is a good one. I love my girlfriends, I have a few that have had a very important part of my life.

Chicken parm? Now there is a winner. We all like it in my family.

I really enjoy this thread and it makes me sad to think someone is trying to disrupt it. I only visit a few other sites on cruise critic because some are quite snarky.  Just ignore and move on. I know this thread is not always about cruising but it is about Cruisers who enjoy talking, sharing and supporting each other. Enough said.

      Stay safe and enjoy today

          Charlene

Oh my what a beautiful day with ever ending beauty. Tonight after a day of the Highlands, Ben Nevis, Eilean Donan Castle we are staying in Skye. Had some minor itinerary changes due to ferry schedule changes. No problem as it was a full day of Kodak moments. Headed for dinner soon as is always a delight.

The white building is our lodging with gorgeous loch views.

Thanks for the report and postings.

Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida.

Funny quote today, nice way to start the day with a laugh.

I'm not wild about avocados but we eat a lot watermelon and cantaloupe.

    I like Pasta Carbonara.

Already have been to Publix for a banana run, came home and took a bike ride.

We've been to Skagway and took a ride on the White Pass Railroad, good trip with great scenery.

One week to go as we sail on the Equinox next Sunday.

Thanks for The Daily, stay well and have a great day.

Have  a wonderful cruise  and  stay  safe.

Good morning, thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily!  Tigers are so majestic, I love seeing them.  I'm a huge fan of chicken wings, but prefer simple flavours like salt & pepper or Greek to the super hot ones.   We haven't had lasagna in a long time; for me it seems like a fall/winter meal rather than one to have in the heat of summer.

It's another beautiful morning out there today, clear skies, just a tickle of a breeze in the trees, and bright sunshine.  We've got all the windows open for now, but will be closing them in about an hour because our temp is supposed to reach 35C (95F), and I know we'll be running the a/c for a good portion of the day.

We saw the doctor yesterday about DH's leg and all is well - woo hoo!  There wasn't any indication of a DVT, but it seems the swelling could have been the result of heat and a certain blood pressure medication.  For the last week or so, DH has been having nightly leg cramps and I finally thought - maybe his electrolytes were out of whack, so he's been drinking Gatorade and voila!  No more cramps.  I mentioned it to the doctor who said that's what he would have prescribed instead of a medication.

@StLouisCruisersre: the hot air balloon - we've seen them in our area a number of times, but unfortunately I didn't get a photo yesterday.

@Dr.Dobrowe were on the Maasdam Feb 15 - March 6, 2019 enjoying the light show at Hong Kong as well - perhaps we sailed together?  I recall being on the back deck watching the lights when we discovered the ship was being followed by a drone.  At one point an officer came out to view it as well and told us "it's not one of ours" and went back inside.

Not a lot going on for us today, but I've got a couple more shopping bags to put together and found some brightly coloured material that I'm going to turn into padded luggage handles for our suitcases that will hopefully be used in October/November.  Although I think salmon and dill are a natural pairing, we won't be having fish soup/stew any time soon.  It's Friday night so - yes, it's pizza night at our house.  We'll have to check the online menus to see what appeals to us and I'm pretty sure it will be too hot to enjoy it on the deck, so it will be pizza in the pergola tonight.  And wine.

Prayers for everyone who needs them and even for those who don't think they do.  Extra for the people of Ukraine and for everyone providing aid.  We'll clink the glasses to cheer on those who make up the celebration list.  Stay safe, get your boosters, wear masks when needed, be well, and hydrate!

    Smooth Sailing!  🙂🙂🙂

    Gerry

    Great  news  on  DH leg.
