  1. My bad - I had read somewhere that post Amp they had replaced JR's with El Loco Fresh but I fell victim to fake news... 🙂
  2. Seems a little odd that they would build a 7th Oasis class as opposed to another Icon class... 🤔
  3. Also Freedom replaced JR with El Loco Fresh. I wonder as more RC ships get around to their Amp's that more JR's will be replaced with other things...
  4. No guarantee a royal up to somewhere else won't also have kids next door... 🙂
  5. I'll be there on the 17th - sailing on Oasis and sharing CC w/ Freedom. Looking forward to trying the new food options there (coconut shrimp & caribbean pizza specifically 🙂). Since we arrive 2 hours after Freedom, I'm hoping that Hideaway will offer more/better chair options than the ones in other areas that will be snagged by all the Freedom cruisers...
  6. I would agree with Peter & Kitra's take (from that YouTube video). I have actually seen people say that the new Surfside is actually quieter than the Oasis class Boardwalk area - especially at night. Since there is no JR / Playmakers / Aqua Theater, the area is very quiet & empty after 5-6pm. You might be more "at risk" of noise from your left & right neighbors if either have a few kids in there but all in all it seems like it will be nice back there...
  7. Did you have any traffic issues going to the port via rideshare as opposed to a taxi? I had heard that the rideshares have to follow the same traffic flow as cars and can get hung up in traffic as opposed to taxis and busses which have their own lane and tend to get to drop off quicker - but I didn't know if that was factual or not?
  8. Following - we will be on Oasis on the 11th for the 2nd half of your B2B! 🙂
  9. With all of that stuff added to the top of the ship (aqua dome, infinity pool, etc.) there may be an engineering reason that the pools can't be deeper due to the added weight?
  10. I agree regarding Wonder over Odyssey. Ironically our last two cruises were on each of these so I have a fresh perspective 🙂. Maybe it's because I'm used to Oasis/Freedom class but I prefer the overall layout of Oasis over the Quantum class. Odyssey was a great ship but it seemed more prone to bottlenecks than the Oasis ships. Also if elevators are needed, the ones on Odyssey were horrible 18 months ago when we sailed. I heard from other folks that this is one of the big issues folks have mentioned regarding Odyssey. That being said, the Northstar and Music Hall were awesome things that Oasis class don't have and I do prefer the Schooner Bar location on Odyssey vs. overlooking the promenade on Oasis class. One word of caution about Wonder. If you are back in the aqua theater area on a port day, there seems to be an issue with soot collecting back there. We and several others had to get our light colored shorts cleaned to get the spots of soot removed from sitting in it. Not sure if that's been remedied but it was a problem last March...
  11. Yeah I was looking at that and noticing how similar to Oasis class they were. Would be curious to see some kind of side by side comparison...
  12. Will be interesting to see if they keep the questions fresh or if it starts to repeat at some point 🙂
  13. Kind of a random question for anyone on the WC - what's the trivia like? We love to play the various trivia's and I was wondering how the CD crew was getting along on the WC? Not like the typical week long cruises when you can recycle weekly... 🙂
  14. We got it for mid-high $30's for our Oasis cruise in a couple of weeks. We are sharing CC with Freedom so hoping Hideaway will be a little less crowded. Also looking forward to trying the new food options there: coconut shrimp, pizza, empanadas, etc...
  15. It's per day Also here's $5 go see a Star War... 🤣
  16. We will be on Oasis and have one reserved for Day 6 (sea day between St. Thomas and Coco). If we're sailing west I may try and figure out which side will be in he shade lol I'm only on the pool deck on sea days because I need the breeze to offset the sun. I hate being out in the sun with no breeze. I can imagine casitas on port days can get like a convection oven lol
  17. That's great advice for all! We did that on an Odyssey cruise because we wanted one near the splash pads so we could keep an eye on a 7 year old 🙂
  18. I think we're paying under $300 for the one I booked for our Oasis cruise next month. I know it's expensive, but worth it to me to have at least one sea day where we don't have to fight the chair hog fight, have the choice of shade (me) vs. sun (wife) and can come and go as we please along with some wait service and relaxation feeling the sea breeze as we cruise along. 🙂
  19. Time will tell but history is definitely not on Buffalo's side... 🙂
  20. Of the remaining teams, I'll be ok with any of them besides Buffalo...
  21. I'm assuming the answer to this is no, but is there any way to get to see the process behind how they smoke meat on a cruise ship? I assume something along the lines of an electric smoker that uses smoldering wood chips. As an amateur pit master I would love to see things in action...
  22. Thanks - comparing to Dickey's is great way to level-set my expectations! 🙂
  23. Awesome - thanks for the post! I'm kind of a BBQ snob. I hope it's good but I know it's hard to replicate the same style with the limitations of maintaining fire safety on a cruise ship 🙂 I'm not a fat lover but I do love burnt ends and if they are made properly, the fat will be rendered and won't have that jello like fat consistency.
  24. "Good seat" as in not a hard bench? 😀
