  1. I'm planning a group cruise. I want to thank my family and friends for cruising with us. I originally was going to gift each cabin a beach tote bag with a lanyard and luggage tag holders with gum and mints. I'm in the process of ordering these items and realized I wouldn't want another tote bag full of "stuff". I would prefer $25 OBC to spend as I would like on the cruise. If nothing else it would take care of almost two days of gratuity. What say you? Gift tote bag or $25 pp OBC as a Thank you for my guest. Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions.
  2. You are not alone. We have all felt that way. I've tested 4 times in 8 months. Every single time I'm a nervous wreck. You will be fine. Sending good vibes your way.
  3. I've cruised 4 times since the re-start, September, Christmas, Easter and May. Everything is back to normal. No mask, no segregation of vaccinated and not vaccinated, no wristbands, self serve in the buffets (I must admit I miss the servers serving everyone), jam packed elevators (LOL!), no social distancing, all the tables available in the Windjammer, No scanning in and out of Windjammer, chair hogs are back and everyone seems more relaxed and respects those who want to social distance and wear mask.
  4. #3. I don't have time nor energy for all these gift cards and money back scenarios. I directly deposit $xxx in my savings account from every paycheck. About 10 days b4 final payment I pay it off with my CC and then payoff my CC the next day. Easy Peasy!
  5. I would keep the boardwalk cabin so I could see a partial view of the ocean. I just had my 1st central park cabin. The experience was fine but I did miss the ocean view.
  6. For the most part cruises are back to normal capacity. If you're afraid of crowds cruising on a mass market ship might not be the best option. Try a luxury liner.
  7. Yep, one look at that line for MTD and I headed to the specialty restaurant and purchased the specialty dining pkg. I'm not waiting in line to eat dinner. MTD use to be flawless. I don't know what happened. On My next cruise I made sure to get early dining for peace of mind.
  8. You are going to love Coco Cay! Best beach day ever. We have never spent anything extra at Coco Cay except for an occasional adult beverage. Food included Lounger included Umbrella included Beach access included Pool access included Tea, water, lemonade, flavor water included Waterpark for the little kiddos included The Waterpark for the little kiddos is a game changer for us. They're too small for the big kids water slides anyway so this area is perfect for them. ALL DAY entertainment for them. Great for family cruises. We start at chill island. Have lunch at snack shack. Go to Oasis pool for the party vibe. And we end at south beach for one more funnel cake, beach volleyball and relaxation. We love Coco Cay! A must if we're cruising out of a FL port.
  9. Our flight canceled during the middle of the night for our flight Saturday at 11am dfw to ewr for our Sunday cruise. Thank goodness I woke up during the middle of the night and was able to change my flight. Original flight DFW to EWR. I was able to book dfw to mci and then mci to lga. It cost $143 via lyft to get me back to EWR where my hotel and my airport to port transfer. Saturday was a heck of a day. I made the ship Sunday however 5 of my friends did not. 😒 The closest they could get was Baltimore However there were not any rental cars available for the 3 hr drive to Jersey. For Our next cruise out of MIA I'm seriously considering flying in Thurs night for our Saturday cruise.
  10. What a wonderful cruise! Enjoy ur next leg JC! Could you hear the ships fog horns that started going off every 2 minutes (yes I timed them) when we were leaving Saint John? OMG I didn't get much sleep Wednesday night. Those horns kept me up all night. I finally went to guest services for ear plugs Thursday morning.
  11. PSA for all of my Cape Liberty port cruisers. Bring paper documents and/or screen shot the docs on ur phone. The internet inside the port terminal is bad to non exisistent. Numerous people could not pull up there documents in the terminal. The people who were trying to login to their email for vaccine records or test results were not able to login. People trying to login to their Walgreens or CVS accounts were not able to login. One man left the terminal and went to staples to print his families documents. It took the couple in front of me 20+ minutes to get their documents to come up on their phones. Definitely print and/or screen shoot ur documents on ur phone. Do not rely on your phone internet to access ur docs.
  12. Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I took a Lyft. $143 later I arrived safely at my Newark hotel from LGA! Tonight's prayer Thank you God for keeping me safe and calm all day after canceled flights, 5 hour layovers and paying more than a tanks worth of gas to drive 37 miles. I'm most grateful.
  13. Thank you. I'll probably stick with Lyft.
  14. My flight to EWR was canceled. Now im on a flight into LGA. What's a few options for me to get from LGA TO EWR? My hotel for tonight is booked at an EWR hotel. Do they have a public shuttle bus that runs to each airport? I know I can grab a taxi or lyft for about $100. I'm looking for other SIMPLE options. Thx.
  15. I'll see you Sunday Jessy aboard the Oasis. Super jealous you will stay on for another 3 cruises. Man, if I could cruise for a month, I would not go back to work. LOL!! I would be too spoiled. LOL!! Safe travels. O and what should we really see in Halifax besides the tourist stuff? What's a couple of things off the grid that you would recommend? Restaurants, check this out spots, incredible view spots, I bet you haven't seen this spots, etc. Thanks.
  16. In this day and age I wouldn't do it. I would rather catch the last flight out the night before. Is there an earlier flight for them to catch? The earlier the better.
  17. I board her on Sunday. The menu in the App is the same for each day. The App shows the following: Starters: hummus, baba ganoush, msabbaha, tahini, tabbouleh, arugula salad, watermelon salad, shrimp ceviche, crispy calamari, falafel, assorted vegetables Entrees: roasted Atlantic salmon, fillet of snapper, half roasted chicken, lamb tagine duo. Premium selections: Whole Maine lobster ($29.95), filet mignon ($16.95) Desserts: baklava, crema Catalina, hazelnut chocolate cake
  18. Glad to see you're writing another review. I could so see you side eying W when he drank your latte. LOL! This review and Jam's review is just what I need to tied me over until I board the Oasis on Sunday. Thanks for your review.
  19. I have a group cruise with Royal scheduled in the fall. We started the process directly with Royal group cruises in July 2021. We are a small group of 17 and 10 cabins. That's the main reason I decided to do it directly with Royal. It's a small group and I can handle it. If I had a group as large as yours I would definitely take advantage of a TA group cruise specialist who could meet and exceed my expectations. Food for thought. As the group leader BE FLEXIBLE. Life happens. We've had 3 people and 2 cabins cancel. As of today we still have one person on the fence and another person that has been sick and we don't know if he'll be able to cruise. Know and understand the group cruise policy and procedures. It is hard work organizing and maintaining a group cruise. You have to be on your game. Which is why if my group was as large as yours, I would use a TA that specializes in group cruises. To your group, YOU ARE THE EXPERT. Learn as much as you can and defer to the website for specifics like covid protocol, documentation, etc. You do not want to be responsible for someone not bringing the correct documents. Zoom calls with your group is a must. Review all the Royal emails and contracts on the zoom calls. Plus all the other cruise stuff as well i.e. gratuities, transportation, taxis, pre and post hotel, excursions, etc. Make an itinerary for the cruise. Let everyone do what they want to do on the ship and for excursions. Only must do together for us is a special dinner at a specialty restaurant and a family picture that evening. We are stressing to everyone this is your vacation do what you want to do. We selected Symphony because of the many neighborhoods and fun things to do for everyone. Plus 4 ports on a 7 day cruise is a bonus. They have numerous free eating places so no one should go hungry. The ship is large enough that we might not see you until debarkation. Happy cruise shopping. I hope it all works out for you.
  20. WAAHOO!! I won my bid to upgrade. Text alert from CC company 9:36AM; email from Royal with new invoice with new stateroom number at 9:38AM; 2nd email from Royal Your RoyalUp bid has been accepted at 9:39AM. I just did a mock booking. I saved $877. I'm quite pleased. It's a connecting cabin and there are several non connecting cabins available. I'm thinking about calling and having my cabin switched. HAPPY TUESDAY TO ME!!! I'm so excited!!!
  21. Let her bring her own hair dryer. Trust me on this.
